Today is august 29th, one of the last days of summer. Although the Gregorian calendar sets the New Year's start from January, we all know that it actually starts with September 1st. Summer moves on smooth and serene and every day is the same. Summer is the time of rest and is perfect for having a rundown on what has happened during the year. Autumn, on the other hand, is the time for action. Autumn is when you set out on a new project, full of energy and enthusiasm.

This year is crucial for our team for many reasons. We've summarized what has been done for the last two years and drew a plan for the next year. The development strategy at last has been formalized with every member of the team keenly aware of his part in it. These last few days of summer is the time we summon the strength for a long and intense autumn.

We'd like to express our gratitude to everyone who's been helping us build Bytecoin for the last two years. We equally appreciate the work of those who's been with us from the very beginning and who's joined the project when it was well under way. Because of your hard work Bytecoin is now a perfect financial instrument that will serve the world a good job. We are looking forward to the future with great enthusiasm.

Bytecoin has been updated to v.1.0.2, which includes the following features:

— Transaction history for simplewallet and Wallet JSON RPC
— Reset command for simplewallet and Wallet JSON RPC
— Various simplewallet improvements

The "reset" command is a handful tool in case you would like to resynchronize your wallet's data from scratch. This command was introduced to avoid deleting the wallet.bin file in case the re-synchronization is required.

The transaction history can be obtained through "list_transfers" command in simplewallet or "get_transfers" method in Wallet RPC. It returns the information regarding all incoming and outgoing transactions:

The "list_transfers" command returns all incoming and outgoing transfers with the following structure:
  • timestamp
  • transaction type (INPUT = incoming, OUTPUT = outgoing)
  • tx hash
  • transfer amount — please note that this data is available starting from v.1.0.2 build. For the transfers created by simplewallet of previous versions this method returns not exact transfers amounts but the transaction amounts (transfer amount + change).
  • fee
  • payment_id
  • recipient's address (non applicable for incoming transactions)
  • block height
  • unlock time

The method provides an easy way for the users or services to recheck all the wallet's operations.

You may learn more about these new features on Bytecoin Wiki: new simplewallet commands and their outputs, new Wallet JSON RPC methods.

Download Bytecoin v.1.0.2: http://bytecoin.org/downloads

Indeed, it's an easy way to re-check all wallets opeerations

Yes, and it is very easy.
I'm always afraid of deleting the wallet.bin file and now this problem is solved.

Is BCN dead? Maybe no miner would like to mine BCN anymore because of low profit.

BTW, is it possible to generate multi-address in one BCN wallet as Bitcoin-Qt wallet does?

Why not mine BBR? You would get more profit by mining BBR.

Firstly, Bytecoin dev team is the best team ever. Secondly, this coin has been operating successfully for about 2 years. Thirdly, I prefer CPU-mining

I've got a question: am I right, you don't need to write ''exit'' in command line now? the sync would be automatically saved?

Exactly ! You don't need to use this command when you end mining. That's good for people like me who sometimes forget to use wallet commands

Bytecoin (BCN) - true anonymity, privacy protection and only CPU-mining

GREAT!!! I really like this coin. Definitive proof that clones/forks can never match the integrity and intellect of original developers!

Looks like all bugs are fixed and new code is working stable.
Nowadays Bytecoin appears to be a good coin to invest into as being shown by my own purchases of BCN
Many thanks to developers for recent updates. Wish the next one update won't have any problems
