I went to orrery today and admired the fineness of our Universe. I think Frederick Cook felt the same awe when he travelled to the North Pole. But Cook travelled himself and saw the snow-white wide with his own eyes. And I was watching a picture created by a handful of triodes and a lense.
When I joined this project I thought it would be easier. At that time, one and a half years ago, I was not a very experienced programmer and those concepts I had of solutions for those high-level problems I am solving today were quite naive. I thought it would be simpler. Necessity to earn for living with normal work and creating Avalon in the spare time are quite exhausting. But I keep in mind that making such product as Avalon will help to redistribute the resources. Take some part from the production of yachts with golden railings and means for murdering people and send them to research cancer and for space exploration. So yes, this goal is worth such exertion.

I have bcn not xmr only as I can mine bcn comfortably but struggle to make anything from xmr mining. So as I have an investment in bcn I often visit the bytecoin website. Monero has a strong community so I decided to visit their website and see how they are going.

Naturally I couldn't help comparing the websites. Some questions I asked during the comparison were:

What support is provided?
How would merchant or exchange integration work?
What developer support is there?

My day job is in IT and I have a computing degree. Having worked on many IT projects in the last 10 years I have certain expectations
on what is a professional level approach and what looks immature and backyard.

Checking the websites of the coins I am interested in and would consider investing in is all part of my research approach.
The level of professionalism of a website can send me running to start mining or stay well away from.

Im not going to share my view of the difference between these two. Please go and check them both out, its worth the effort.

I have done this; My observation for what its worth.

Both sites are not typical crypto coin sites. I am guessing you would view the Bytecoin site as being 'more professional' looking. I remembered the Monero site as being more slick and less 'grass roots' looking - however time plays tricks with the memory. At the end of the day most coins use a slick template with minimal content and in that sense neither are typical.

My advice would be; Never judge a coin by its website!

Charity is good thing without any doubts. But why religion? there are a lot of other good ideas where new people can be attracted from

Maybe because lots of people still donate lots of money to different religious organizations so they'd happy to have good financial tool for it. But the question is what BCN can provide them that traditional financial insruments can't?

Just watched BBC's "Inside the dark web" documentary

Good immersion in theme of modern web privacy, but still why didn't they go further in anonymous finance block and describe not only bitcoin, but other cryptocurrencies with more delicate privacy mechanisms like Cryptonote coins?

Or maybe you know other documentaries where BCN was mentoned?

btw, is some coin worth of CPU or GPU mining right now? It looks like all coins are now heavily unproftable. Things changed a lot in those few months.

Not everything is perfect. Doing translation of the BCN web is nightmare. I have tried it. Leaving email to subscribe the news does not work. Some improvements are needed on the BCN web site but it looks about 100% more professional than XMR web. But is better to have better look or better functionality?  I would vote for better functionality before the look and therefore I support BCN because of the functionality (not talking about web now).

Cheep? pchaa. If you check profitability of mining it is +/- same like XMR or other CN coins. I would not say cheep. But what is true is that BCN is stable. With lower value than XMR of course ...but stable. Let see in long time period. You should buy some BCN ... it is still "cheep"

BCN is stable and very cheap at present. The price of Bytecoin will rise once the interest in all the pump & dump Bytecoin cryptonote clones has died down. The most vocal pump & dump, Monero, is fast heading down to 1$. Once this level is reached the end game for this particular pump & dump will be swift and sudden!
