To me, it just looks like he's just trying to establish himself as yet another e-celeb influencer (they all should be purged imo) so he'll be trying anything to keep some hype around him, aspecially after losing that fight.
We all know there's zero chance of him getting a contract with UFC. He might get a chance to fight in some smaller organisations though, as he has a large social media following and his name is recognisable. But it won't be a big money fight.

Firstly, Kamaru Usman is a great fighter. But as you have said before, maybe he is past his prime. They both also have a large age difference. Currently Usman is 36 years old and Khamzat is still 29 years old and the average fighter is considered to be in his prime when he is 30 years old. Age is not always a benchmark because there are still very great fighters over the age of 35, such as Texeira, Miocic or Jones. But not all fighters are blessed with a long prime, especially when they have experienced brutal defeats.

Secondly, Usman moved up to Middleweight (correct me if I'm wrong) which of course was a slight advantage for Chimaev because he didn't have to cut too much weight.

And if you look at Kamaru Usman's side, in my opinion, if a fight is decided suddenly like this, each fighter will not have the opportunity to study their opponent in more depth and prepare a training camp to train intensively so they have to rely on experience and their respective fighting skills. And Usman, as a fighter who has fought more than 20 times in the UFC, certainly has a slight advantage here.

For sure age matters in this fight and looking back on Kamaru Usman's recent fight against Leon Edwards is surely a take here if he wants to wrestle with Edwards on the ground for sure he can do it but he did not for sure if Kamaru Usman doesn't have the power to take Leon Edwards on the ground Khamzat Chimaev can instantly for me Khamzat Chimaev had an incredible strength he even showcase to lift Daniel Cormier instantly in their meeting well this is just a casual meeting and just having fun but to showcase strength like this for sure I think that Khamzat Chimaev has more strength to go against Usman in the ground,

Shame on him for running his mouth so much for sure this is an example of trash-talking going in a negative way, and sure he is just doing this to hype the fight but he has done it and crossed the line for sure that is why he is paying the consequence, even though that fight with Logan Paul have to rack him millions that millions will not last because of the filed lawsuits and the way he fights inside the ring I really think many are not falling for what he has to say right now, and many are disappointed for sure,

No worries mate. I doubt the winner of Chimaev and Usman gets its title shot next. Both aren't in the top 5 of the middleweight rankings and the winner might not also get a top 5 ranking. Dricus du Plessis deserves a title shot but it seems that Adesanya might get another privilege for an immediate rematch once again. But I do hope Adesanya gets a tune-up first and then he fights the winner of Strickland-Dricus. Nonetheless, Chimaev who's expected to win against Usman needs a win against a top 5 opponent first to earn his shot at the title.

I also felt like Dana likes Colby. But what is weird though is letting him become inactive long enough. So I won't be surprised if somehow Edwards will pull an upset over Colby. But prime for prime, Colby should beat Edwards.

Colby is already in the top 5 and is waiting for a title shot but it's not possible to fight Usman and if it is for the 3rd time, it would be a disastrous end again. He waited for a new champ who turned out to be Edwards. If Kamaru earned back his belt, Colby would not have a chance of a title shot, he was beaten up by Usman twice already.

Sean Strickland next eh..?  There's a possibility that the UFC could be disappointed with their build up for Chimaev.  Lol.  Usman is no slouch.  If it were not for the lucky head kick from Leon Edwards, I don't think any book would line him up as this huge of an underdog.  Don't write him off this early imho.  He's training back with Henri Hooft and he'll also get Trevor Whitman in his corner at the same time.  He's a D1 wrestler, has the KO power and has beaten some some of the better guys in the UFC.

I mean sure Chim should be the favorite as Usman is taking this on short notice.  But for the line they're giving Chim, do you guys think he'll give Usman a total beating?  I don't think so.

Some unpleasant news appeared recently https://www.reddit.com/r/ufc/comments/17atci9/usman_supposedly_states_he_popped_his_knee_at/. Popping knee in an open spar with Gaethji is no good for beating Chimaev convincingly (because frankly I dont know who is more on hype and in case of no early stoppage, who will be a winner in judges eyes). If something happens when you just do single leg take down on soft surface, then during real fight more bad things might come.

But seriously tho, that sucks.  And as one guy said in the comments, if Usman's knee blew up in a light work out then he wouldn't have done well vs Chimaev in the cage.  Man...  Now watching Chim vs Usman would def suck now.  It reminds me of the open work out Cain Velasquez did before his match vs Ngannou.  We saw how that ended.

I guess the bet is gonna be if Usman gets out of R1..?

Edit:  After watching the vid a couple more times, it doesn't really show Usman blowing up his knee.  The Cain Velasquez one was clear as night and day.  The Usman one, not so much...  We'll see what's up in a couple of days.

For sure Dana White has promised Leon Edwards to fight whoever wins the fight between Khamzat Chimaev and Kamaru Usman that is why Kamaru Usman accepted this fight and me, this is going to be a brutal fight, in my opinion, Chimaev is a beast in the ground for sure Kamaru Usman will surely have a hard time against Chimaev, in my opinion, Khamzat Chimaev will Smash him for sure, I can surely feel it,

Israel Adesanya is back on YouTube and in this video I think he has said that we will not be seeing him inside the Octagon for a long time, for sure he is still mentally broken because of that fight and giving his reaction towards the fight for sure he will be Bias for Alexander Volkamnovski for this fight and also he will be bias against Khamzat Chimaev as well,

So I guess the original plan for Chim was to fight Costa then fight somebody in 185's top 5 then a title fight.

Haven't they announced that the winner of Chimaev Vs Usman will get a shot against Strickland? I've heard that somewhere but don't know if it was only a rumour or confirmed information.

I guess UFC are too cautious to make such announcements. What if theoretically, one of them misses weight and match makers would have to urgently make card correction? It would be unfair for a fighter that fights in a catchweight to have his next fight as a title. We also dont know UFC plans on Izzy. What if they plan to return him the belt but to make it not as a rematch (as he recently got an immediate title fight rematch against Pereira), but after a win over Chimaev/Usman winner.

I agree with you because every fighter will definitely go through things that make it difficult for them even their weight often experiences more significant losses. Moreover there will be fight for the title that Adesanya will fight against Strickland because this fight will make more money.
Adesanya also expressed several opinions that he would fight again and defeat Strickland to take the belt he took from him.
I sure Dana White would definitely prefer Adesanya over taking either of the winners of the Chimaev vs Usman fight.

Talking about the Chimaev vs Usman fight it seems that Usman is the favorite and he is also the fighter with the best takedown defense in the UFC.
And what more Usman had an undefeated record in 15 fights making Chimaev face the toughest fight while he was with the UFC.

Adesanya as he said will not be fighting for a long time. The MW division is getting too crowded with fighters that easily outrank each other now that Usman and Chimaev are moving up. Adesanya can watch who will take the belt from Sean and Dana will match that fighter with Izzy. A more marketable match is when Izzy got the belt back and Sean vs Izzy 2 will be made.

Usman said his knee was fine. Looking at the video though, Gaethje did ask him if he was okay after falling that way on him.  IDK maybe he is just fine.

He's 34 and not getting any younger. Taking a long break would probably not do him much good. But it's his decision to make.
 
If Usman/Chimaev are to get the next title shot against Strickland, then the most obvious fight for Izzy would be against Du Plessis, currently the number 2 contender. If they didn't give him an immediate rematch, it would be weird to give him a title shot against the winner of Strickland/Chimaev (or Usman) without matching him up against someone else before then.

Other than being the training partner of Conor McGregor what has Dillon Danis done with his career to make any money. He fought in Bellator in some under card against unknown fighters and that will not help in making money and the only fight he was able to make any money was from the recent event and with his skill level in any form of fighting there is no way Dana White will give him a shot.

Yes he said he is going to take a long break from fighting, he was active as a champion and he has two loses in 3 fights and that might have motivated him to take a break from fighting, Adesanya announced this through his twitter page

That is a very smart move from Izzy. The guy has been fighting professionally since 2010. 11 fights when champions belt was on the line. That is much different than just having a regular fight, not just physically, bet mentally. Remember that drunk driving case. The guy just must take a break from fighting routine. The other reason for a rest - take a look on middleweight top15 fighters. He has fought most of the top. There must be some changes to be made among fighters position in top, and that will heat interest for his next fight. I mean who he is gonna fight? Strickland again? There is a high chance that he will win this time. Du Plessis - ok, interesting fight. But who's next? Third fight with Vettori? Again with Cannonier? Costa?

I am sure that Islam will be with AKA gym guys only in his corner, with the one who helped him to train. Of course Khabib gave him a lot of support during calls, but I dont think he would be around. Because he trust Islam and in 100% sure in him. When Islams opponent was changed, Khabib and Islams team did not care much. Khabib simply told - "Islam is a champ, he must be ready for everyone. If King Kong fits in 170lb, bring him in"

I asked myself what had happened. volkanovski has the highest octagon IQ, there were people who claimed their first encounter was a robbery and that it was he who won that fight. with the update about volkanovski having surgery recently, Islam will win it without a doubt this time.

I remember some months ago, we talked about new UFC prospect, Sharabutdin Magomedov ( he is more knows as Shara Bullet for MMA fans post-Soviet territory). That red bearded Dagestani with freak eye. In few days we gonna see his UFC debut in Sharabutdin Magomedov vs. Bruno Silva fight. What we know about him. Despite well know fact about Dagestan and wrestler, he is a muay thai boxer. From his MMA career, I have noticed that he kicks to much. Kick from all distances, angles and on all levels of body (notice - all that eats lots of stamina). He has some wrestling skill, but has low boxing skills as well head movement. What we know about Silva - experienced. He has beaten every trash, but lost to every more or less good fighters Silva has heavy hands. Among his 20 KOs, 15 were made by punches. Even though he is black belt in BJJ, he taps almost immediately when the game turn to the ground.

Conclusion, either energetic and hungry Shara would kick each and every Silvas body cell and win by UD, or he will be KOed in first two rounds.

That's prolly gonna be good for him..  He already made a lot of money anyway, so no need to rush back into the cage.  He's one of the greatest 185'ers and he has nothing more to prove.  And what it also does is open up the weight class for newer, younger, hungrier fighters to go at it.  So it's good for 185 overall.

Anyway, does anybody have some updates on Usman's knee?  Seems like nobody is talking about it anymore.

Usman posted a video online regarding this rumor and cleared that it is just click bait and he is not having any injury.

 

But why no body is talking about the Debut fight from Shara Magomedov, that fight would be easy money, even if that guy only has 1 eye he is a crazy fighter.  It would be one of those fights to bet all-in and walk away with x1.42

Fight fans look out for Sharaputdin Magomedov from Dagestan, he is a Middleweight fighter with heavy kicking game and counter strikes and refuses to go to the ground unless the opponent forces him. Finally he is signed to the UFC and look out for some spectacular striking technics from him and a title contender in a short period.

From the main fight i don't know what to expect, i think Volkanovski will fight hard trying to KO Islam, but if he doesn't do it then the fight will be for Makhachev... By the way Usman and Volkanovski on a parlay is an x11.13, and I think is totally possible. We know how crazy the UFC outcome can be.

Volkanovski will be looking for the knockout and Makhachev will be aware of that and he will be moving a lot from his power shots and will probably try to take him on the ground and tire him out and win the fight probably by decision.
