Thats good to hear  Grin
Transactions must be included in a block to be properly completed. When you send a transaction, it is broadcast to miners. Miners can then optionally include it in their next blocks. Miners will be more inclined to include your transaction if it has a higher transaction fee.

forgot to add paid just over 100USD in UPS fee(s).

I'm sure the forum would like to know what kind of SD card was used... if you happened to look just for funsies...  With the trouble you've had with these things though, I would hate to make you ask to check ;P

batch 4 arrived just now - set up was a breeze.

nice new board rails - all metal and secured with 2 screw down guards.

all boards were out of their connectors but the guards kept them secure.

wider fins on the heatsinks, better led screen, can view from wider angles.

vent hole in side with PSU breathing but temps are identical to B3 - hashrate seems a bit more variable but overall SLIGHTLY better.

i might post pics if i can be bothered later - gunna let it settle in first...

oh and nice 'Bitmain' antminer impression on the lid but whatevs.
I suggest checking the pins inside the pci connectors, some of them could have been bent by the cards sliding in and out...

Decentralize EVERYTHING!

Has anyone paid by Bank Transfer for an S2?  I did for this latest batch and since sending it have heard nothing from Bitmaintech despite numerous emails trying to check they have received the payment OK.  Maybe a nice shiny S2 will arrive on my doorstep in the next couple of days but it would be nice to know what is going on!

Was there still TIM oozing out the sides of the heatsink and smudges and smears of TIM on the back of the boards?

Biffa - none, and the heatsinks seem much better milled. no rough edges

tzortz - there u go

Nice, they told me they had improved the design, didn't realise they had gone so far.

RE the old heatsinks, I have visions of them being delivered to the BITMAIN factory via tipper truck.  Cheesy

hahahhah i can picture that visual way too easily!  Nice to see they seem to have an improved method of keeping the cards held in place for shipping.

would love to see them put heatsinks like this on the S1 in order to cram 3-5 boards in the space of the current 2 boards

24" PCI-E cables with 16AWG wires and stripped ends - great for server PSU mods, best prices https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=563461

just out of curiosity - has anyone calc'd what these need to cost to be 100% certain of a decent roi - not just breaking even

My current personal metric when paying $$ for any hardware is $1/GH.  Not a whole lot of available choices at that amount so I try to get as close as possible.

ROI in ~4 mo IF S2 price at $1700, BTC stays at $438, diff rise~45%/mo OR price at $2059 (with coupon), BTC at $438 AND diff rise only 30% a month.
The best would come if $$ price for miners stays the same, but BTC rises sharply.
edit: I used $0.12/kwh electricity cost for this calculation because this is what I pay.

Well I'm a little more bullish on difficulty increases, given 11% per increase over the next few months.

Static:

Difficulty Increment: (?) 11%
Electricity Price: (USD/kWh) 0.1
Pool Fee: 2%
Hash Rate: (GH/s) 1000
Hardware Power: (Watts) 1000
BTC/USD: $433.989

@ $2000 Break even in 185 days, total profit before negative return kicks in: 0.314BTC
@ $1900 159 days, 0.57BTC
@ $1800 145 days, 0.8BTC
@ $1700 132 days, 1.033BTC
@ $1600 119 days, 1.263BTC

etc etc

New price for AntMiner S2 1 TH/s Miner Batch 4: 2459 USD each one, shipping cost included.

Glad to see you have improved the design of batch 4 and secure the cards during shipping.

Hopefully still as planned the 28nm chip is still due to hit early June 05 I think you said in email.

I hope that you ensure batch 1 will be shipped secure and full design is taken into consideration.

Anyway good progress with the S2 in deign wise - it may have taken you 4 batches just to get it going but hope customer will be happier to know that less chance of a brake in transit.

Roll on S3  Grin

Just received my first S2 today, but I am wondering that I do not get more than 600GH/s.

I already have the latest firmware installed. Do you have an idea what might be wrong?
Kind regards

You should have 10 blades listed, I only see six.  You should check to make sure all the blades inside your miner are connected securely.
