Sri Lanka has declared the 2nd inning after making 157/7 and gave a target of over 500 to win. Bangladesh in their 2nd inning, lost 2 wickets at 65 runs. Sri Lanka will win this match unless we see some extraordinary innings from the BAN batsmen. Bangladesh has given us another meme material when 5 players were chasing a ball  , it was hilarious.     

It was really funny. 5 players are running after a ball. It is impossible to win the match if you field like such a fool. Moreover, Bangladeshi fielders have missed several catches.

The Sri Lankan batsmen have given a huge target of 511 runs. It's a big target on this pitch. As Bangladesh performed in the first Test match and in the first innings of the second Test match, it will be difficult for this team to score 200 runs.
We are not seeing good batting from the Bangladeshi players in the second innings as well. Bangladesh team lost the wickets of two openers to collect 51 runs. SHanto and Mominul are batting carefully. But I doubt if this pair can survive at the crease for long. Bangladesh has now collected 90 runs after losing by 2 wickets.

Bangladesh team is batting in the second innings on the fourth day, and they have lost 3 important wickets. Although the Bangladesh team may not be able to fill the lead given by Sri Lanka in today's match, they still have to score a lot of runs, which is very difficult for them. The Sri Lankan team had the best batting performance on the first day due to which the Bangladesh team is unable to compete with them. Today the Bangladesh team scored 119 runs, which is a very small run, but they may never be able to meet Sri Lanka's target as Sri Lanka has built a huge lead. Bangladesh still needs to score 392 runs if they want to win the second test match, I think going for this huge score may not be possible for Bangladesh at present. And the batsmen of Bangladesh are not so strong that they will score a lot of runs, rather they can lose very easily. And if today's match is lost, then the result of test match will be 2-0 and Sri Lanka team will win two matches and Bangladesh team will lose.

The last batting pair on the crease and it's fair to say 2-0 is loading. The main question would be how long they could resist, but it'll ensure a clean sweep in at least one format.

Shakib and Litton are capable batters but chasing this target is no less than climbing a Himalayan without any support. Also, it doesn't help that Litton is not in good knick.

Bangladesh team is performing very poorly with Sri Lanka team, Sri Lanka team did not perform carefully in the second innings. For this, Bangladesh started the second innings with 157 runs for 7 wickets, and Bangladesh team to perform again. In all probability, Lankans will declare their innings and ask Bangladeshis to bat from the first over tomorrow. I was a bit surprised with the performance from medium pacer Hasan Mahmud. He picked up 4 crucial wickets for Bangladesh. The pitch at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram was supposed to be spin-friendly. But so far the pacers have picked up majority of the wickets - Hasan Mahmud for Bangladesh, and then Lahiru Kumara/Vishwa Fernando/Asitha Fernando for the visitors.

SL should have gone for follow on option but they didn't took that option. Not good batting from SL in second innings but it doesn't matter as they have scored enough runs in first innings. It's first time in this test series that Dhananjaya de Silva and Kamindu Mendis were not able to score fifty, in past three innings they both were too good for Bangladeshi bowlers to handle. Tomorrow hopefully SL will be bowled out in first session and then Bangladesh have a huge target to chase. 

Bangladesh made only 178 runs in first innings no players from their team played long inning except Zakir Hasan who make fifty excellent bowling by Sri lankan bowlers who stop BAN team under 200 score like 1st test Asitha Fernando takes 4 wickets in 2nd innings SL is on 102/6 and day 3 stumps off. Sri lanka lead by 455 runs and 4 wickets remaining now and its impossible for Bangladesh to chase the target which gave Sri lanka tomorrow around about 500 runs SL playing fearless and brave in 2nd innings because they have huge margin of lead and Bangladesh could not chase fact that in last days it is very difficult for any team to chased big target like Bangladesh team very very difficult match official result has not announced yet but the Sri lankan team will win this match

It is very funny that Bangladesh lost all their wickets for just 178 runs while Sri Lanka scored 531 runs. In the second innings Sri Lanka are playing very normally as they don't need to collect too many runs.  Bangladesh will not be able to overcome the runs they collected in the first innings.  Sri Lanka scored 102 for 6 in the second innings. if Sri Lanka stop playing now then Bangladesh also need to collect a big runs like 455 to win the match which is not possible for Bangladesh against Sri Lanka.

Many have made memes of the above video and compared it to village cricket but I would definitely call it a supreme effort by the Bangladeshi players and such an effort by five cricketers to save a run is truly commendable.


But in comparison Bangladesh's achievement in today's match is not too bad rather Bangladesh may not be able to win the target of 500 but so far they have collected 243 runs with the loss of 6 wickets which is in a much better position than the first innings.

Bangladesh seems too weak to defense Sri Lanka in Test Format. They didn't perform well in 1test, so is for 2nd match.where Sri Lanka seems they continuously developed themselve in comparison of previous match. Most of top batsmans were about to century in 1st inngins. I don't know what happened in second innings where they perform too much poor like Bangladesh. Maybe they didn't give effort to score good amount of France as because they already gave 500+ runs target for Bangladesh. But yeah, Bangladesh improving, 268

It has become very difficult for Bangladesh to win the second test match and even to draw this test match is slowly becoming impossible for Bangladesh. In the second innings of the second test match between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka we saw a slightly better batting performance from the Bangladeshi batsmen. Bangladesh batsmen have batted worst in the Test series between these two teams. Bangladesh have so far scored 267 runs for 7 wickets in the second innings of their second test match, they need to score another 311 runs to go into this test match which is impossible. Because they have only three wickets and the three remaining wickets are mainly bowlers. It is certain that Bangladesh will not be able to win this match, but if they bat a little better, maybe their margin of victory will decrease, for which Mehdi Hasan Miraj will have to bat more patiently.

Before the start of the Test series between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, we never imagined that Bangladesh would be defeated by Sri Lanka in such a miserable manner. However Bangladesh team should learn from this test series failure and they should play more important test matches.

It is sad to see Bangladesh having hard time in test match against Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka players like Dimuth Karunaratne Kusal Mendis and Kamindu Mendis played really well making it tough for Bangladesh to keep up. Sri Lanka is leading by more than 450 runs so it looks like Bangladesh is in tough spot. So there are very less chances of winning of Bangladesh team. Bangladesh should need to look on their mistakes and should resolve issues. Congratulations to SriLankan team in advance.

The Sri Lankan team came to bat once again but I don’t think so that they have to come again on batting because the Bangladesh team cannot chase 300 runs but I think so that their captain wanted still there are two and half days left so why we are not going to try to their batsmen, it will help them to judge their performance and they can also play without any pressure but I think this turned against them.

102 for 6 does not look like a promising figure for them. No doubt Srilanka will still win this test match but at the back of their mind, this poor performance in the 2nd innings will keep on pinching them. Bangladesh can take this positive bowling by them while they still are on the losing side.

Bangladesh team are not likely to win this match and I think again they had to accept a loss by Sri Lanka because at this time today’s 30 overs and tomorrow’s 90 overs were left and at that time they had been at a loss of 4 wickets which cause that they did not have many chances to win it but if they would have won from that situation then Bangladesh team would have achieved a very good win against Sri Lankan team.

Shakib Al Hasan was on strike who was the last hope of them and if he fails to take them to victory then I don’t think they will win because he was the last hope and when he was out there was no chance for them.

Yes , you are right but there is no benefit of this. Bangladeshi International test cricket team is not playing like winners and if they want to win Series against good teams ,they have to change their mindset because with this mindset they can't win this series.

In few years ago , Sri Lankan International test cricket team was not good but now they are looking in good form and they have patience to win test match. Now , it is impossible for Bangladeshi International test cricket team to win this match .

They should hard work and they should improve their domestic cricket. They should take decisions on merit.

Winning the second test match Sri Lanka vs Bangladesh, looks like an impossible task for Bangladesh. They need 243 more runs to win on Day 5, but with only three wickets remaining. Right now, the number of wickets left is the crucial factor, so even confident batting would not help at this stage. If they could save more wickets today, they might have had a chance, but it seems unlikely now. Bangladesh needs to improve significantly in first-class cricket if they want to perform well in tests. Unfortunately, they haven't fully grasped the nuances of the test game yet. They may lose the test series, but they must learn from this experience.

I am not sure yet but according to Cricbuzz, we will see the Pakistan vs India test match in this year after such a long time, which will be hosted by Australia, and it will happen before the Champions Trophy 2025.

It happened after 2006 and in 2006, this series happened at Karachi Stadium Pakistan and that was won by Pakistan with a very good run rate. Let’s see what will happen this time in this test match but also it might be not possible because to see the Pakistan vs India match is not less than any miracle especially when it comes to test cricket.

It was a good idea for Sri Lanka to declare in a lower 2nd inning total. They were not making runs at a quicker pace and 500+ is already an impossible target for Bangladesh batsmen. Bangladesh's 2nd batting went as expected. Even though they were able to score more than their 1st inning but they also have lost 7 of their wickets. Sri Lanka now has some 90 overs to take those 3 wickets while Bangladesh can neither save their wicket so long or pull in 243 runs before losing those 3 wickets. Sri Lanka is the clear winner here.

Bangladesh is still 243 runs behind Sri Lanka. Perhaps Bangladesh will be quickly all out early on the fifth day and Sri Lanka will secure a big win in the second Test match against Bangladesh. Although Bangladesh competed well in T20 and ODI series, Bangladesh performed very poorly in Test cricket and could not put up any resistance against Sri Lanka. In the second test match, Shakib Al Hasan joined the Bangladesh team, the expectations were high, but even after Shakib Al Hasan joined the team, the team could not go to a respectable position. Since Bangladesh has lost 7 wickets, the Sri Lankan bowlers may lose the remaining three wickets at the beginning of the fifth day. As Bangladesh is a professional team in Test cricket, their performance must be improved.

It is Sri Lanka who took the match to the 5th day actually. They would have won the match already if they used the follow-on rules. Bangladesh would have been all out within day 4 in their second innings. Maybe they thought to do a little batting practice and decided to bat for the second innings instead of applying the follow-on rules.

I'd also add that SL and BAN should think about boycotting Matheesha Pathirana and Mustafizur because of team spirit in rivalry. Hint: DC vs CSK  

Looks like Pathirana used all his energy to take the catch and to tie the friendly bond with Bangladesh again .

Yes, Bangladesh cricket team is batting with a good fighting spirit in the second innings of their second Test match against Sri Lanka so far. If they had this attitude beforehand, maybe Bangladesh would have been able to draw at least in this test match. Bangladesh still trail the Sri Lankan cricket team by 243 runs but they have three wickets in hand which gives them another chance. Although Sri Lanka's victory in the two Test matches against Bangladesh is assured, it is not certain whether they will qualify for the ICC Test Championship, but they will be much ahead of Bangladesh in the ICC Test rankings. Bangladesh's Mehdi Hasan Miraj is still unbeaten on 44 off 49 balls and has a chance to complete another half-century in his Test career.
