Another whitewash, South Africans are back. They won by 6 wickets with 27 balls still left. Australian bowlers were struggling to get wicket and stop the run chase. The target was not at all big for the South Africans to chase. Overall a good match

It was quite unexpected. I was expecting a whitewash, but in favor of Australia. But what happened was the opposite of it. Anyway, it was good to see the South Africans beating a big 3 team after a long time. BTW, I don't know what happened to the Australian bowlers such as Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins. They are the world's best, but they could not perform up to the expectations.

@vishnu.reang I'll second that as none of us saw this coming, and I yet can’t believe it that South Africa has performed so well in this entire series. It’s difficult to say whether the Australian bowlers were tired or simply over confident in this series, but I’m sure they won’t be happy with their performances and will definitely bounce back in the next series. Furthermore I also believe that the Australian selectors will have to make few changes in the team, because such performances cannot be repeated by Australia again.

^^^^ The selectors need to strengthen the middle order, because the top order batsmen are not getting enough support from the remainder of the playing XI. Warner, Finch, Smith, Labuschagne.etc have been performing well on a consistent basis. But the middle order batsmen such as Paine, Carey and Marsh are not getting enough runs and building strong partnerships.

Another ODI series is coming up or should i say another pointless series for India. It might be helpful if BCCI plan some T-20 games ahead of WC instead of 50 over cricket or give some break to players, their schedule is ridiculously packed.

Rohit not playing due to his injury and Virat is also taking break from ODI. Word is one of them (KL Rahul or Shreyas Iyer) might lead India against the SA.

Update : Kohli is playing in this series so no captaincy for new guys . Squad is out and word is Rishab Pant is back-up WK for this series, KL Rahul is front runner for WK. How quickly things changes in world cricket.

Kohli isn't in great form right now, and that's exactly why he should be playing. Taking rest for a few matches is one thing, and getting dropped from the squad is another. And I don't think that the Indian selectors can afford to drop Virat right now. Like it or not, he remains the best player in the squad. He is temporarily out of form, and for that he needs to play more matches against quality opposition.

I made the post because as per my analysis, it will be best for India if Virat Kohli regains his form quickly. He is by far the best player in the squad right now (by some distance). He is someone who is capable of guiding his team to victory singlehandedly. Only a very few players have this capability in world cricket right now. He needs to play against quality opposition, so that he may regain his form soon.

And I don't agree with captaincy change right now. Kohli has done a wonderful job as the captain, across the formats. Check his record, and you can see that he is one of the best captains in the history of Indian cricket.

You cannot rule out South Africa's performance recently, where they dominated the ODIs by Beating Australia. But, India will be playing in their home ground and Indian team performs exceptionally well when playing within India. I am sure this series will be very interesting to watch.

Let's hope that we'll get to see some live action on 15th, when the second ODI will be played at the Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow.

Anyway, we have two more ODI matches remaining in this series and the matches will be played at Lucknow and Kolkata. Got 2.9 odds for NZ , that is something I cannot push away although I know Aussies are the favorites . Nz are capable team who defeated Indian team in their last series so anything about 2.5 odds is worth the risk .

I will use only this post to comment on Nz vs Aus instead of creating number of posts . Good luck to everyone betting.

5:47 - 34.3 overs , short is dismissed . NZ are in a very good position right now , Aussies are 165-4 and if Nz manages to pick up 1 or 2 wickets in 5 overs it could be a real blow for Aussies.

7:20 - Below average performance by Aussies as they finished the innings by scoring 258 runs. My bet is now looking good.

Batting first OZ are 217/4 in 44.3 overs .  They started very well and lost first wicket a 124 runs and now Labuschange is batting I. 44 runs . If he stays till the end OZ can reach 260+ runs and NZ would like to restrict the below 250 runs which would be a good chase for them unless they lose quick wickets .

He did well to score half century . He has scored 2 half centuries and a century in his 7 matches. That's good news for Aussies.

8:24 - Slow start from the Nz openers but till Kane and Taylor are there Nz have the edge in this match.
 

I missed the window, odds are average for both teams now so skipping the game. consider yourself lucky that you got good odds for kiwis, they seems in good position and might cross the line comfortably.
