Sri Lanka winning all four of their matches so far, while West Indies have only managed to one win out of their four matches. Sri Lanka enters today's match as clear favorites, and hopefully their winning attitude continue throughout the World Cup qualification matches. One of the key reasons behind their success for their opening batsmen, had no problems chasing the target. Choosing to bowl first, Sri Lanka has already taken seven wickets of the West Indies team. It looks like Sri Lankan bowlers determine to bundle out West Indies to a low total.

I just simply don’t think that there are enough teams in the cricket World Cup. The problem is test cricket, it is almost dead. One-day International cricket needs a lot of time. At least the World Cup is really time-consuming. But in the T-20 format, I think it is possible to increase the number of teams. And T20 is also the format in which it is possible for the associate nations to actually perform well. These associate nations are actually showing good performance in this World Cup qualifier. I think at least 12 teams in the ODI format World Cup and probably increasing the number of teams to 20 in the T-20 format World Cup makes a lot of sense.

We have too long discussion about this in past about this all with every one is going for his own favorite format and favorite system, but again I am still feeling now it's time to have few changes in this all game with ODI World Cup 2031 could be last for this format, and now we need to be had only two formats first test and second t20 because now going with all three formats are not good for the game and other stakeholders as well.

ODI is losing its passion and quality is also going down with mostly ICC never have anything positive for this format every time we have decrease in teams for the mega event and funding issues are also rising with this as well so just stopping this all time-wasting is much better and bringing around 16 to 20 teams in t20 is surely going to help them in many ways as well, and we need to reduce test format for the top eight teams as well.

After losing 5 batsmen for just 81 I don't think West Indies will cross 200 runs. However, the batsmen of West Indies batted very well. The team was able to set a decent target of 244 runs. But the bowling of their bowlers has disappointed me a lot. The team was not able to take a single wicket in 21 overs. Sri Lanka managed to collect 118 runs in 21 overs. BCB president himself talks unnecessarily to the media. This is one of the reasons why Tamim Iqbal announced his retirement today. Coach Hathuru asked Tamim if he was fit for the match or not. The prime minister had three hours meeting with them, and The Prime Minister asked Tamim to reverse his decision and return to cricket. The Prime Minister offered him 45 Days of rest to recover his fitness and freshen his mind.

I may say No to everyone else, but when it's the country's most respected person, the Prime minister, I could not say No to her - Tamim said.

BCB Presiden Nazmul Hassan Papon said; I know if I could talk to Tamim face to face, there will be a good ending. He reversed his decision. He has not retired anymore. He is likely to be back in cricket in Asia Cup.

No surprises today. Another easy win for Sri Lanka. The only time when they were in trouble was when they were playing against the Netherlands. The Dutch managed to bowl out the Lankans for just 213. But in return they could not chase this easy target and got bowled out for just 192 runs. I guess this was the only close match involving Sri Lanka in the WCQ. They had large victories in other matches:

1. Defeated Zimbabwe by 9 wickets, with 17 overs to spare.
2. UAE got destroyed by a margin of 175 runs.
3. Oman lost to Sri Lanka by 10 wickets, with 35 overs to spare.
4. Ireland lost by a margin of 133 runs
5. Scots put up a fight, but still lost by 82 runs.

Yes, West Indies cricket team was once a popular team. And it is surprising to think that the players of that popular team would play so badly. I think this happened due to negligence of West Indies players. West Indies cricket team has been defeated not only in this match but also in the pri matches. Almost every player of West Indies have got the transition to perform well in the shorter form of cricket. There is big expectation from the West Indies team, but they aren't good with their performance in all format of cricket. The era of Lara was the best for West Indies in test cricket. ODI cricket used to be good, but there won't be much of consistency in performance. In recent years West Indies have gained good progress in T20 cricket.

The final match of ODI qualifier round will be a really tough one because the team Netherlands has been playing unexceptionally good in past matches, and it won't be unfair to call them as a dominant team as well. However, this time they will have to play against Sri Lanka, and that will be the toughest match for the Netherlands team. As we all know that team Sri Lanka is a top-class team and winning against them isn't as easy as winning against West Indies or Scotland. The match will be a very entertaining one and we will enjoy it a lot. I'm still in belief that Sri Lanka will win the match, but the Netherlands team plays unexpected matches and that's why this time someone should be careful while betting on any of the teams.
