Hah ! Just my luck. A second SP20 I have has started to give me grief. Will troubleshoot tomorrow.

I need some new mining gear. Badly Sad

This is exactly how one of my SP20's is now. Sad

I am still able to get about 1th from the unit without too much trouble though.

Did you try to reduce power to all chips, reduce fan and see if fourth loop revitalizes itself.
It did happen to me upon similar situation.
My settings:

0.642 starting voltage
0.647 maximum

Power: 165W per loop (sometimes adjust one or two loops down a little if it/they overheat(s)
Fan:10-20

produces ~1230GH at ~680W (at the wall)

( As I mentioned in an earlier post, I figured I'd keep an eye on posts in this thread given that there were mysterious page counter decreases.  The difference in posts between June 14th and June 28th (today) are all attributable to pickaxepete deciding to wipe all of their posts, everywhere, and editing them all to being blanked out ("Edited") in those threads where he could not.  In this thread that was a total of 11 posts, all on or before page 25 (end of March, 2014), with nothing remarkable about them content-wise. )

I reduced power to the "burnt out" unit, and it's hashing with all loops running @ ~1.2TH/s, with quakefiend's replacement board.

I power cycled the second unit, with no changes to any voltage settings, and it came back up with all loops hashing. I'll keep an eye on it, and lower the voltages if/when the next time it decides to weird out on me.

TBH, I'm actually enjoying this troubleshooting Smiley Love how tweakable these Spondoolies rigs are.

Personally, I am troubled by the obviously burnt PCIe power connector. Pulling 250+ Watts through a single connector when running near full speed means that all the pins must be a tight fit, all the crimps to the pins must be solid, and the cables themselves should be at least 16AWG (IMHO). That applies at both the SP20 end, and the power supply end (assuming it's modular). If things are bit off, then you'll get heating that will just spread to the other wires and pins in the same connector.

I wouldn't ever try and pull more than about 200W through a single connector, on a long term (i.e. days) basis. That's just me though.

I would also encourage you to use the the "Power Limit" values for each of the loops. The SP20 seems to pretty well adhere to the limits you specify.

Ugh, that sucks man.  Glad the board you got from me is working out though!

LMK if you need another, I'll cut you a break since you already had to buy one! Smiley

Slightly off topic here but has anyone else had problems being paid from their affiliate program (which has been removed recently)? Not sure if this is the right place or if I need to start a new topic somewhere.

Contact Gadi for specifics but the tldr is there isn't currently a plan how to pay anyone. They'll argue its store credit but there is currently no store, products or plans to have products [for sale to the public].

Thanks mate that's what I thought. I've been in communication with Gadi over the last week or two and he's saying the same. I'm owed $134.50 in commission for a couple of sales while running their signature but because I signed up to the hardware option he's not prepared to offer me it in btc or cash even though there isn't a hardware option and probably never will be.

I've had a couple of PM's from others saying they've had the same but both have been paid out for their store credit so hopefully they will do the same for me. $134.50 may not be much to them but its a considerable amount of money to me. Not only that I could have earned more in the same time had I signed up to a different campaign but like their equipment so wanted to promote it.

I was in contact with Barbara before Gadi so this has actually been going on for about 6-8 weeks now.

Hey folks, I just picked up a couple of wireless usb adapters to use with my SP20s (it's getting too hot to keep them in the living areas close to ethernet ports).  I bought a pair of Edimax EW-7811Un adapters, as these were confirmed to work on the SPtech technical blog.  Well, the adapters work fine with one SP20, but not the other.  The adapters light up (blue led) when they are powered.  But I don't even seem to be getting power to the adapter (no blue led) on this SP20, much less get networks to show in the GUI.  Is the SP20's usb port dead?  Or is there some way to test/enable the port?

in my extensive experience with SP-T i found Guy & Gadi to maintain the most integrity.

others, considerably less so.

i wish you luck in your efforts, though i can say it might be like getting blood from a stone (so to speak)

BTW: Has anybody got a spare PSU for an SP10 for sale?

I might have one :-/ My SP10 stopped hashing yesterday and I cycled the power this morning.
Nice .. I was just near it .. as a little flame started on the bottom board somewhere on the right side. I unplugged everything and let it be.

Will try to open up the box soon (for the 1st time) and asses the damage. If it can't hash any more with any of the boards I might have the controller and fans on the market too Smiley

Where are you located? I'm in Toronto.

Later Edit:  A capacitor exploded and caught fire. Sad Not sure if I can power this board up any more as it might have shorts in that hole .. The top board looks fine though ... the heatsink is black a little, but I guess the rest is ok. Would an exploded capacitor be dealt with by SPT?

RealMalatesta .. would you sell me some hashing boards ? LOL

Your contribution to our sales effort is well appreciated.
We will continue to update regarding our future offering as soon as we can.
Thank you for your patience,
Gadi

And this is after many repeated requests for a cash refund as there is no hardware available to redeem my commission against and probably never will be. I'm just being fobbed off, it's disappointing to say the least especially from a big company like them.

Problem arose today out of nowhere.. my SP20 is powered on and running, LED lights blinking and ethernet switch sees it online.

I cannot log on to the SP20 web interface and it is not hashing at the pool it was last pointed at.

I have tried turning it on and off a few times to no avail...

Sad

Is it bricked?

You should probably see if it's no longer at the IP address it had before. Options for finding it:

- Log into your router and look under the DHCP section and see if there is a way to list the "clients" it's handed out an IP address to. Try those IP addresses from your browser. Try ping from the command line.

- Try using a readily available "IP Scanner" program for your network. Sometime they will give you a small clue as to what's out there. Try poking at those IP addresses with ping and your browser. I just don't recall how my SP20 identifies to my IP scanner.

Next time you turn it off, disconnect the power and let it sit for at least a solid 5 minutes before you turn it on again.

Hope this is of some help.

IP Scanner shows it at the same address it was all along, except instead 'enabled' it now says 'Inactive'  ...
