He may well still have some financial interests in the BTCS merger, even if he isn't employed full time there. We shouldn't be surprised if he doesn't respond.

I wonder if Zvi/software lead is still with the combined company?
Zvi co-founded his own company this year and is working for MS, so if he's still involved he's definitely a busy man.

what's MS? Microsoft?
Edit: nevermind, it's just Microsoft's TED team (maybe a consult or a summer gig), re Spondoolies it says-Present.

TED is a Microsoft team that does work to repair Microsoft reputation in the open sourse community. It is a new initiative. Mostly I work with startups in the  Microsoft Ventures lab.
I am involved in Spondoolies where my experience is needed (I am allowed by my Microsoft agreement) ,  because we are friends but I am not the main developer anymore. After implementing 2 years of miner SW one has to move on.

TED is not a "Microsoft team". TED is "a global set of conferences run by the private non-profit Sapling Foundation, under the slogan "Ideas Worth Spreading".

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sapling_Foundation

Microsoft may have a TED team that develops presentations to make at TED conferences but Microsoft is not TED.

Not trying to spill any beans here, but I do think it's significant that Microsoft is hiring from the Bitcoin-space for its TED-team if that's the case.

From what i know about it i think it is a very bad idea with very good marketing.
It dont see how this can be profitable to anyone involved. I dont see consumer mining as a real market in the future. It was fun,  but IMO it's a dead horse.

But I dont follow on the forum anymore,  so pls don't post me here) And microsoft ted is not the lectures ted,  it's "technical evangalism domain"  or thomething like that)))

Not to Zvi...

Typical Microsoft...took a word (TED) that everybody uses for something else (open conferences) and in familiar fashion "extended" it to something completely unrelated.

Curious minds want to know: approximate pricing?

I suspect this is one of those "if you have to ask, you cannot afford it" scenarios.

What is the price per SP50?

has to be around 25-26K shipped to be competitive considering that competitors can lower their prices. ~180 days to profitability at these numbers.

Thanks for the update Smiley
Edit: Oh, also a slight error in the announcement/PR: "(15J/GH compared to 0.61J/GH)".  15J/Gh * 110000Gh = 1,650,000J ... maybe that troll needs to change his thread about nuclear fusion miners to read Spondoolies-Tech instead Smiley

Worse for consumers, yes.  For datacenter type operations, it's much better.  You don't even need a rack - the thing is its own rack Wink

Probably more, it includes PSUs.

These are 11U = 24 x 19".
6x 120mm fans = a grid of 14 x 10"s of fans
And so the 10x 1600W PSUs *appear* to be the same 1U ones from the SP35 (Artesyn DS1600SPE-3).

In a pack of 48 they're upwards of $400 per unit which is probably approaching $300 with Spondoolies quantities.

So that's $3,000 of PSUs. Shipping will almost certainly be palletised, those things are way too big and heavy to go through normal routes so that's a fair chunk but not really different to anyone else.

more will be uncompetitive, especially for low electricity cost regions.
they will probably promote selling "shares" in Sp-50 (at 10Th each or so)
