In a pack of 48 they're upwards of $400 per unit which is probably approaching $300 with Spondoolies quantities.
So that's $3,000 of PSUs. Shipping will almost certainly be palletised, those things are way too big and heavy to go through normal routes so that's a fair chunk but not really different to anyone else.
Regarding PSU cost, you don't have a clue. |

Very well done Guy and the SP-T team, it's exactly what you said it would be except more efficient than anticipated. Do you have any intention of offering less-than-bulk purchase with hosting through BTCS' facilities?
Oh and Fatman, Guy has had to hold his tongue for far too long when they were selling to the public. It's not a catfight when you are calling people out for not having a clue.

What is the price per SP50?
has to be around 25-26K shipped to be competitive considering that competitors can lower their prices. ~180 days to profitability at these numbers. Probably more, it includes PSUs. These are 11U = 24 x 19". 6x 120mm fans = a grid of 14 x 10"s of fans And so the 10x 1600W PSUs *appear* to be the same 1U ones from the SP35 (Artesyn DS1600SPE-3). In a pack of 48 they're upwards of $400 per unit which is probably approaching $300 with Spondoolies quantities. So that's $3,000 of PSUs. SP50 "Azhdarchid" (for scientifically inclined)

Here is where mortals have to purchase the DS1600SPE-3-001, at $400 per PSU. And here are many other sources at [$400] [$480] [$480] [$450] [$380 with 4 month lead time] [$370 with 4 month lead time]. Even if you can buy them for less they're still worth closer to retail for an SP50 customer because normal people don't have access to your prices. Ps I think this is the first non SP20 product that hasn't shipped with overloaded PSUs, its a good start [16570 * 0.93 / 10 = 1540W per PSU]. |

Thus far we still have options of hardware manufacturers that are keeping up with efficiency's. Unfortunately due to the obvious business opportunities and reduced support costs it has become a trend for manufacturers to cater to the larger clientele and large volume Build To Order. |

You have an insane garage sir!!! at 16750 Watts or 16.75kW based on 220V (Standard US 220V service) that means you have more than 150 amps available. This compare to most homes that only have 200 amp service for their whole home. :-) Also that would mean 80 amp breakers for each circuit.... or I guess you could do 6 15 amp 220 V circuit per machines... That will be one HOT garage!!!! On the plus side.... Your garage will be heated all winter. :-) |
