What does it feel like to live thru the mania of the waning days of BTC after that rush of a spike from nothing to 1200 bucks got eveybody's blood rushing ? Are you having fun yet ?

If you think this is bad, wait till BTC hits 100 bucks again

I'd like to get an SP31 but refunded my GB SP30 due to the fact of the elec costs going up....having to commit to a 6 month hosting to get those
costs down (and likely having to go to a 200 amp panel? not sure)...and just the plain ass noise...so I punted...

Smart move Searing

yeah not happy about it...Guy and Spondoolies treated me very well...very impressed...but just did not make
sense...mainly it was the NOISE and then add the elec etc ..well punted....out of my home miner range and
comfort zone....

I do OWE them a product.....imho....just not that fired up to host a unit...well I'll try to keep an open mind
in the future...this 500 usd per BTC and difficulty race ...is making it very difficult to make my usual ASIC slut
pre-order stupid decisions

most of the time I feel like a pregnant girl watching the fleet sail away going WTF

live and learn (although with me it takes quite a bit)

BFL (refunded thank god)
KNC (refunded Saturn...duh..stupid) (kept the Jupiter Oct unit 50 BTC smart)
Alpha-t.net (refunded....thank amex)
KNC (2nd Neptune) (still have a NON ROI Titan...for fun and whirly noises and LCD's etc .may as well do 51% attacks against new sh*ty alt coins....start a Titan NO ROI gang)
Spondoolies (which I really really did not want to refund...but alas...too much zoom zoom for home mining and noise etc in my case)

yeah looking at the above I think I'm on the Wagon..need to start an ASIC no PRE-mine Anonymous (ASICANON) TM.   Smiley

That is a lot of drama for a guy who ordered from BFL April 12th 2013 and made this bitcointalk account on April 13th 2013

jeez....hard to find out you are the ASIC slut equivalent of a groupie following 'Blue Man Group"...it is embarrassing.... Sad

anyway taking the pledge...no more pre-orders.. we will see how long it lasts (don't count on it I've got it bad)

only way to play is to be in BTC for the long haul my rant this thread on such (again not that I know WTF I'm doing)

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=763327.msg8601588#msg8601588

anyway my game plan.....if nothing else I will be one of the last if BTC goes beanie baby (but look at all the cheap BTC I'll have ..yea....) Smiley

Do you know why was bitcoin traded at $1200? Or, better, do you have your own reason of why it went that high?
Easy to say it will hit 100 again, .. but at this point it has the same weight to say it will hit 1200 sometime in the future.

Holding BTC does not make any sense, imho. Doing something with it does.

Had to go to FedEx depot to pick it up they had to search the truck and they found it yay!

btw what's the default IP address on these ? I have a ton of devices don't know the IP

try with hostname myminer.io
the IP is on DHCP .. or get a network scanner app on you phone Smiley

cleaned out all my DHCP resevations and limited the amount to 20 so I could see when a new one got request and still nothing.

It seems that the SP30 is not requesting a new IP , how do I reset the box ?

Now there is another problem. I plugged in the second miner to but myminer.io doesn't seem to be loading so I can't update the firmware because I don't seem to have an access to cgminer. I go directly via 192.168.0.5 and insert the default password (That's the address my router shows to be allocated for this miner) but the status page doesn't load. The miner seems to be fine. All lights are lit fine etc

For a moment the cgminer status page loaded so I tried updating firmware and I got the message:

"Downloading url:http://firmware.spondoolies-tech.com/release/spon.tar
download fail, rc = 52"

Actually I don't have an access to any miner now. myminer.io doesn't seem to load, neither can I get access to cgminer status via 192.168.0.4 (Miner 1) nor 192.168.0.5 (Miner 2).
When I try to load 192.168.0.5 the fans start working like crazy, probably at 100% and don't stop so I have to switch the miners off.

Well, myminer.io is not important if you know your miners IP, so that I guess is not a problem.
Regarding the WebUI not working, please test if you can ping and ssh (root/root) the miner. If you can ssh the miner, you can change edit your wallet "vi /etc/cgminer.conf <enter>" and then type "spond-manager start <enter>". The miner should start mining. Then you can type "cat /tmp/asics" to see how it does. This is not a solution to your problem, but this should get your miner running. Please open port forwarding to your miners http and ssh and send me the passwords so I can investigate.

Regards

Thanks. Would you like to just use team viewer instead so I could see everthing, please?
\

Yes, but not now - it's 4AM weekend. For now please try SD recovery or manual configuration via ssh.

I can ping it with no problem. When I try to access it through putty the password doesn't seem to be right although default login and password for 192.168.0.5 are admin/admin.

I have not got SD Card for recovery. I would need to buy a card, a reader. What time are you back tomorrow, please?

Any update?

We got the preliminary ASICs results for October batch. We'll meet 5.5 TH/s +- 5% with 3KW at the wall.
This is guaranteed. You'll get a refund in case we won't. You'll enjoy additional hash-rate if it will be better.
We're further tuning the process to get better results for November.

Pertty sure of yourselves.......or maybe not

How is that Lexical analysis working out bickneleski?

Wissam, when you want to get rid of any of the SP30 because you'll pay more in electricity than you mine with them, let me know.
I can find them a home with some subsidies .. so I guess I can keep them running longer. Same for SP10 .. let me know.

Will keep that in mind and offer them to the person that offers me the most at the time I need to sell. As long as I can at least get my money back for the 29 x SP30s I'll be happy. First I will offer to my friends at Toom.im since they would already have them in their hosting facilities and have the means to pay very cheap electricity so they will benefit and so would I.

@blaise thanks

Edit
I updated the FW  the latest t one via webUI

Right now the box is hashing on egelius at ~3989 TH VOLTAGE
119/120 front temp 20c rears around 60c

In settings it seems the default watage is capped at 1300 or so on 120v
I wont tweak anything for a day or so to see what hashrarate I can get from factory settings

Anyone have any tips for 120v perf tweaking?

All in all people really understated the build quality of the hardware and software
I looked at the logs and saw the code where the miner tests each of the 29 asics running them
Through a battery of voltage/high/low freq tests and have to say wow @zavisha  is amazing.

The hardware is so clean and compact I can even forgive the shipping delay now even if it only
Breaks even just the chance to play with hardware and software so meticulously designed was worth it

Great job sp tech , ill definitely use my coupon on an sp31

to searing the simple (only ignorant people, ignore people)

IF you ignore what people say, how can you comment on half a conversation without making yourself look like a simpleton?

YOU CANNOT, so you make yourself look simple ... AGAIN, and with such little effort

i will not fill you in on the important missing details because you are not worth the effort.

hopefully someone will quote me so you can catch up with a few more % of whats going on, you dense pleb!

@SPTech - apart from your unfortunate timing & grossly over-confident marketing propaganda, you have produced a very, very decent machine.

Very Well done!!

Such a shame you didnt start 18 months earlier, you would have/could have pwned the entire market....

is toomim up for ...sam?
will be interesting to see how it plays out

I don't understand this question.

Is it possible to have a drop in the sp10 hosting fee ?

sp10 3 month = 600$  => 1050 Watts =>  0.57 $/Watts/3months
sp30 3 month = 1200$  => 3000 Watts => 0.4 $/Watts/3months

We at Toom.im host SP10s for $390.60 for 3 months.

By the way, an SP10 uses about 1390W. The 1050W figure is the DC rating of the power supply. SP10s are typically run at about 1250W, or about 20% above their rating. (Emerson, the PSU manufacturer, approved this.) When supplying 1250W of DC, the PSU uses about 1390W of AC, for an AC2DC conversion efficiency of about 90%.

3989 GH/s sounds about right for 120V.

I was able to get better hashrate on 120V when using 2.2.28. I got the performance of my SP30 up to 4150 GH/s on that version by tweaking the PSU limits manually. Zvisha hard-limited the PSU performance to something like 1100W in later versions of the FW, so even though you see 1300W on the settings page, you're not getting it.

On the next difficulty (27B), the extra 500 GH/s you'd get by running on 200+V would earn you about $137/month. This is about half of our hosting fee at Toom.im, where we use 254V. In order for hosting on our 254V to be a worse deal than running it at home, you'd have to get your electricity for less than $0.07/kWh, and you'd have to have free cooling and not have the noise be a problem at all.

Hosting bitcoin miners for $65 to $80/kW/month on clean, cheap hydro power.

Still going to be a market. I suspect they already pwn the market given the product being produced.

I am hip.  Let's hear about the new SP50.  SP31 is a mere patch job of an old technology.  We want something to look forward to.  Has the wait list been started yet?

Is anyone here using one of these rigs on a 110V via a convertor or another setup? I do not want to use a hosting service. I want this baby in my hands to pat every once and awhile.

it has been already described that you would lose at least 10% (more likely to ~3.9Th, which is ~13%), so "petting " will cost you ~$7.4 a day currently. Not a biggie.

Could the PSU be swapped out for a 110V with less of a loss than the convertor? 13% is a lot to me. I'm a greedy pet owner.
