@nutildah. I thought the live draft is done every week before the games. Okay then I also vote in for the live draft hehehe. But can you not change your team once a week and can those changes then be done on your own time?
Now I understand your hesitancy. No, the idea is to make a team in the draft and keep it for the whole season, treating it like a real team.
Having said that, cases will arise where one of your starters will get injured, and maybe your backup has a bye week. Or maybe your backup plain sucks. In case you need a new player, you can drop an old one and pick up a new one off the waiver wire.
Its possible to rearrange your entire team every week but too many adds and drops kind of goes against the spirit of the game. Besides, most good players end up getting drafted right away, which leaves slim pickens as free agents.
Basic FF Facts For Newbs- Each team has a max total of 16 players, so the draft will be 16 rounds long.
- There are 9 starting and 7 benched players each game. You
must set your starters before gametime or they won't play that week.
- Most positions have a maximum # you can have in that position (for example, you can have a max of 3 kickers, sorry suchmoon). Check the League Settings for specifics.
- Each week, teams in the league face off against each other in head-to-head competitions. Whoever's team scores the most points in their matchup, gets a W for the week.
- "Points" in FF refers to points earned by the plays of individual players in your starting roster (and also the Defense, the 9th player).
- Different plays earn different amounts of points. For example, if a QB throws a TD pass, the QB earns 4 points + 0.04 points per passing yard, and the receiver earns 6 points + 0.1 points per receiving yard. So a 20-yard pass into the end zone would be worth a total of 18 points.
- You can also lose points as some plays are worth negative points. A fumble or interception is -2 points, a missed field goal is -1, and there are others all shown in the League Settings.
Umm... What else...
Oh, playoffs for our league start a couple weeks earlier than the NFL because it doesn't make sense to keep playing after NFL teams are eliminated.
