I bet more bitcoin than I ever have on the Cincy / KC game. I really thought with Mahomes banged up and Burrow just oozing with confidence "Burrowhead Stadium", that it was their game. Just goes to show how absolutely stupidly good Mahomes is. IMO Burrow is the leagues 2nd best QB and Mahomes more than out played him with far less talent..can't imagine if Mahomes had Chase, Higgens and Boyd.
FWIW there were a lot of calls that went KC's way and without them, they would have assuredly lost. The last play where Mahomes gets shoved when he was already out of bounds, yeah you have to call that as a foul, but there were some questionable calls before that as well. As for who's going to win...I'm going w/Philly..that big run Mahomes had towards the end of that game may have really messed him up. We shall see!
I'm also leaning toward Philly for that reason. KC does have more SB experience, but I don't think its enough to overcome Philly being a better team all-around.

What do you think of this superbowl? I'm not very happy that the eagles are there, I mean they played a good championship but in my opinion the 49ers deserved more, I'm not saying in the play-off game but in general while I agree that the Chiefs are the ones went to the final. At this point, making my prediction, I would say that Kansas City will win.

Well today is a new low for the pro bowl. Tyler Huntly is going to the pro bowl for the afc as one of the quartbacks. Yep you guessed it. Flame throwing Huntly who threw for 2 tds and 3 ints...ALL YEAR is going lol. Why are we even doing this at this point. It's like some sort of pro-am event with not even the best guys in the NFL. Pitiful...

Sean Payton to the Denver Broncos for their 1st round pick this year and their 2nd and 3rd round pick next year. Crazy seeing a coach being traded and for this much capital. He’s an incredible coach though. He’s an offense play calling genius. I’m glad to see him back in the league. I bet more bitcoin than I ever have on the Cincy / KC game. I really thought with Mahomes banged up and Burrow just oozing with confidence "Burrowhead Stadium", that it was their game. Just goes to show how absolutely stupidly good Mahomes is. I'm also leaning toward Philly for that reason. KC does have more SB experience, but I don't think its enough to overcome Philly being a better team all-around. There were absolutely horrible calls in the game. I’ve been hearing it being talked about by everyone all week. It’s insane how complex and “grey area” the rules in the NFL are. Not to mention their always changing.
It all depends on the health of Mahomes. If he was fully healthy, then I put my money on KC no question. But he seemed to be even more banged up after this last game. He was limping quite a bit towards then end, especially after that long run he had late in the game.

Tom Brady posted a video on twitter where he announced his retirement, once again.. But this time he said it will be forever. Just a quick video.. no long post - no drama! You can find the post here: https://twitter.com/TomBrady/status/1620772095889403905?s=20&t=aE0c-nBYAVGS0Uqpu6KWtAHell of a career!! I know that there are a lot of Brady haters out there but no one can deny what he has achieved in this sport! His last season wasn't all that great and somehow it was to be expected, much as one didn't want it - at least that's how I felt it. But I also have to come out as a Brady fanboy. Here in Germany, football has only become popular in the last few years and he was a huge part of that. College football is now being broadcast in addition to the regular season and the ratings speak for themselves. But I don't want to digress from the topic now.. what do you think about it? Interesting to hear the opinion of his fans and the haters!

You're not digressing from the topic, this thread is about American Football regardless of where the game is played or watched. The popularity of the game or the NFL, in the US or other countries is well within the scope. I like Tom Brady also, even though he's never played for a team that I root for. I hope he gets his life on track actually sticks with it this time. I imagine the 49ers would love for him to join as a backup to Brock Purdy, which would be very helpful to the youngster's career, but honestly I don't see that happening. I doubt Brady would settle for a backup roll, and I expect him to focus on his family for now. There will be a time when we see him regularly in a broadcasting roll, of that I have no doubt.

Yeah, 100%. Would love to see him as a broadcaster. I also saw him with the 49ers - at least at the end of his career. But that was more or less before the season. In the meantime, however, it has developed into a dilemma for the 49ers... who will be the starting QB? Tray Lance or Brock Purdy? With Brady on board they might have made things worse. I think I saw in some documentary once that Brady's deepest desire was to play for the 49ers since he used to go to the games with his dad when he was a little kid... Just happy that it went against the rumors with the LV Raiders!!! That wouldn't have been a nice retirement for me.

That is what happens when you leave the voting up to the players and they vote for their friends instead of the best players, and while this is bad there are players like Ekeler which have never been nominated for the pro bowl, go figure. snip

If the 49ers wanted it they could give him a one day contract and let him retire as a member of their team, the Patriots did this a few times if I am not mistaken so it is not something unheard of, and if they were allowed to release merchandise related to Brady the move alone could be worth doing from a financial standpoint. And about his retirement, I think it was about time, I am sure the guy still wants to play but the longer he played the greater the chances he will be unable to retire on his own terms and instead it could be due to an injury, then it is better for Brady to walk away now while he is still the one which can make the call.

I didn't have that on my bingo card for 2023. Especially after he lost some money with FTX last year. Thought he had to play for a few more years to make it back, haha. Anyway, great career and arguably one of the greatest if not the greatest player the NFL has ever had. I can't quite believe the farewell yet, but this time it sounds much more likely than the last time. Somewhat ironic, since the dear Gisele has always wished that Tom stops playing football and now they broke up and he retires, lol. Oh wait, the German Bild reports there might be even a love-comeback. WTF is going on today. I like Tom Brady also, even though he's never played for a team that I root for. It's Tom Brady and the time until the new season for the 49ers starts is pretty long. Never say never. However, the $375m TV-deal with FOX sounds much more realistic IMHO. In that case, the FTX losses also do not matter anymore. Haha.

However, it might depend on which job offer pays him higher. Tom Brady love to play and I reckon he would play into his 50s if his body permits this. Also playing for his team would certainly fulfill a childhood dream of his. I wish the 49ers would propose to him a 2 year contract with a tempting amount hehe. In any case, I have been hiding in embarassment from this thread because everything that I have predicted for the conference finals were wrong hehehehe. I will admit this now, Philadelphia Eagles is the best team in the NFL for this season. 49ers had bad luck, however, they would certainly have lost if Purdy was also playing. For the superbowl Eagles -2.

That's been done several times by several teams, but as far as I know that's only happened for players that had played on that team previously. Like Jerry Rice, for example; he went to the Raiders for a while, then retired as a 9er with a 1-day contract. As for Brady, my guess is he'll retire as a Patriot. At least, that's what I think he should do. And about his retirement, I think it was about time, I am sure the guy still wants to play but the longer he played the greater the chances he will be unable to retire on his own terms and instead it could be due to an injury, then it is better for Brady to walk away now while he is still the one which can make the call.
Agreed, his last season will soon be forgotten and his accomplishments will remain legendary for decades to come. He has his health intact, and he'll be fine financially.
~
Reliable reports estimate he lost $41 million in the FTX debacle. It's also worth noting that the FOX deal is $375 million for 10 years, averaging 37.5M per year.
Agreed.
I really don't think the 9ers would do that, nor would Brady at this point. If he has any hope of reconciling with his wife, it'll be squandered if he signs another contract regardless of the team. Haha, quit your whining, we're all wrong from time to time. Some of us more than others. I still think the 9ers are a better team than the Eagles.

That's OK, everybody's wrong about half the time, on average, except for Ty K. who hasn't been here in a while. This is me after getting 2 picks right after 4 losses in a row: I will admit this now, Philadelphia Eagles is the best team in the NFL for this season. 49ers had bad luck, however, they would certainly have lost if Purdy was also playing. For the superbowl Eagles -2.
This is fair. I will probably end up taking Philadelphia ML. Reading the comments about Brady under his retirement-take-2 tweet are depressing. The dude accomplished so much, more than anybody in the NFL in my lifetime -- maybe in anybody's lifetime. Just because his last game / season didn't go great doesn't diminish any of it.

I am certainly not a Patriots fan, though being a bit of Tampa Bucs fan since I lived there for a while, it's been great seeing him play regardless. The NFL losing Brady is sad, but I'm thankful that he's going to be broadcasting for Fox. A lot of people are speculating that he will go to the raiders but I think he's finally had enough..nothing else to prove thats for sure.

I’m undecided who I’m going to root for / bet on. It all depends on how healthy Mahomes gets by the time the game comes next week. If he’s feeling like a full go at practice then I’m taking the chiefs, but I’m not sure if that’s even going to be possible in his condition. I’m happy with both these teams playing each other, I think it’s pretty representative of whom the best teams are for each division.

I'm leaning towards Chiefs because as a giants fan I can't seem to root for the eagles to win. Up and down though the eagles are pretty good. Just think having to go through the giants and 49ers without a qb they haven't seen much co.petition in over a month. Think the chwifs catch them off guard and win 27-22. There that's my initial take.

Good guess. Cant root for the eagles aswell. In my opinion, it pretty much stands and falls with the health of Mahomes. But I strongly believe that he will give everything to be able to play in the Super Bowl. Of course, it can't be done without drama, that's why the decision will be made public shortly before. Otherwise it would be boring... I pray for every Chiefs fan that they don't have to see Chad Henne on the field.

The nfl wants the cheifs to win, what better hero story than the face of football and playing hurt leading his team to win the super bowl. They will sell that until the register is full. Hate the weekend off between playoffs and the super bowl. Nothing to watch today!

Whaaaat? You didnt watch the ProBowl? Just kidding! Although... I had a quick look yesterday, it's still not that special but they really tried to reinvent the Probowl. Some skill games were interesting and I liked the flag football better than the usual boring game. The good times with Sean Taylor are long gone.
