Day 2 or round 4 in the six nations today and it turned out to be legendary for a few reasons!
Scotland broke one of their records and put 50 points on the board against France and obviously won the match even though France scored 2 converted trys in the last 10 minutes. I dont think many neutrals expected that and nobody in France did anyway. Fantastic match of Rugby.
Second match of the day, Italy v England - Italy wins for the first time against England, probably not a great spectacle of Rugby but a great game none the less . Englands discipline costing them and Italy with some electric play show that this year they are definitely and finally a team on the up!

Hi guys long time without passing here, i hope you are all good!
I try to remember to come here and talk about the first and mighty win of Italy against England in the six nations. Im very happy for them because finally seems like Italy is doing some steps ahead in their Rugby.
Related to that is the fact that Quesada a former Puma is doing a great job with them and this put me to think, how much the Argentinian rugby is helping other countrys to raise the level.
For example here in the South America rugby we are helping a lot Uruguay, Chile and a few others, and in europe we are giving a lot of help to Italy with players (Brex and a few others) and in coaching staff.
But for me the biggest one happening right now is with Spain, Spain was a place with 0 rugby years back but now they are improving a lot thanks to a lot of argentininas players living there, they now have some ""decent"" level i have friends of mine which plays here in the top teams (all amateurs or semi -pro like every single rugbier here) and now they can make a living there since they paid them decent money, so is a win-win for alls.
I point out this because despite Argentina not being between the top teams of the world is maybe the one who is making the most to expand the rugby world.

It was a crazy round indeed. Scotland's national rugby union team's victory over France's national rugby union team with 50 points was something almost no one expected. And Italy's national rugby union team beating England's national rugby union team was also historic. You can see that Italy is evolving a lot in the Six Nations Championship and that's very good.

Nice to see you again darxiaomi. And welcome Mindyspace.
The first round of the NRL has finally been played and tonight sees the second round get underway.
Brisbane ($1.26) take on Parramatta The Warriors ($1.85) should edge out Canberra Syd Roosters ($.174) Vs Souths ($2.10) - I'm expecting a boil over with the Rabbitohs to win. Wests Tigers ($1.62) are expected to win over Nth Qld St George Ill Vs Melbourne ($1.40) Penrith have firmed as favourites ($1.34) against the Cronulla Sharks Manly Vs Newcastle ($2.10) in a second upset win Dolphins ($1.40) should easily win over the Gold Coast Titans.
My pics for round 5 of the Super Rugby are the Hurricanes, Brumbies, Highlanders, the Reds and The Blues.
Good luck everyone!

Yes a crazy round is right but at the same time extremely entertaining and the last and deciding round is coming up this weekend, all 3 matches played on Saturday! Ireland v Scotland - potentially a championship deciding match, its also a Triple Crown deciding one. Wales v Italy - Another chance for Italy to make another win and set yet another record for themselves but IMO Wales have showed improvements in their performances so this should be a tough one for both. France v England - An important one for France, they need to win to give themselves a chance at the championship depending on how Ireland and Scotland do in the first natch! 3 truly mouth watering matches.
Timelord, I will be turning over to the NRL after the Six Nations!
Welcome back darxiaomi There is no doubt that Argentina have made roads into improving their game and what indeed does help is a more global connection for players and coaches at club level so they can bring those experiences back to the national team.

Thank you aoluain for your kind words in this "comeback" of mine to this thread. I dont know if you get correctly what i mean to say, i was talking more about how Italy, Spain and other south american national teams are being helped a lot by Argentina in diferent ways, we are helping them to reach higher levels. We are receiving nothing in exchange, since the players who goes to this countries for play for some money are low level for our national teams. But are improving a lot the leagues of this other countrys. Sorry if you get it and i dont understand your statement Sometimes my bad english limits me.

I do indeed know what you mean, Argentina is a tier 1 team and are ranked 5 in the world ahead of England and Australia whereas Spain would be classed I suppose as a developing country. So any players from the top tier playing club Rugby elsewhere is going to bring that expertise to that club.
Odds for tomorrows last round in the Six Nations: Wales 2.44 v 1.59 Italy Ireland 1.49 v 2.66 Scotland France 1.16 v 5.20 England

Timelord, I will be turning over to the NRL after the Six Nations!
All good. You haven't missed much with the Broncos loosing for a third time (Hull KR, last week against the Panthers in a 0 - 26 revenge for last years' GF loss and this week's opening game 32 - 40 loss against the Parramatta Eels). The Auckland Warriors star is still on the rise with their 40 - 6 win over last year's Minor Premiers the Canberra Raiders. Syd Roosters ($.174) Vs Souths ($2.10) - I'm expecting a boil over with the Rabbitohs to win.
While last night, the Sydney Roosters 79th minute try and conversion cemented their 28 - 18 win over the South Sydney Rabbitohs.
In the Super Rugby Pacific game the Hurricanes won 31 - 23 against the Western Force. Results via https://www.rugby.com.au/fixtures-results?team=All&comp=All&tab=ResultsOther Rugby games included a round of the Men's and Women's 7's at the BC Stadium in Vancouver - New Zealand (W) beat Australia (W) 24 - 17, Argentina 34 beat France 17 (but lost 12 - 28 the day before), New Zealand 21 lost to Argentina 24. In a close game, Australia beat Argentina 17 - 15 I don't know if you get correctly what i mean to say, i was talking more about how Italy, Spain and other South American national teams are being helped a lot by Argentina in different ways, we are helping them to reach higher levels.
Argentina's win's are helping inspire a new generation of players across the globe. People don't just focus on the team nearest to where they live. Players will train harder to play against them which in turn inspires yet more up and coming players in other regions.

Odds for tomorrows last round in the Six Nations:
Wales 2.44 v 1.59 Italy Ireland 1.49 v 2.66 Scotland France 1.16 v 5.20 England
I had a momentary vision of going with a parlay of the three favourites but I held back on that because Wales beat Italy with glimpses of the Wales of 5 years ago. And with only 2 minutes to go England were leading France by 1 point but gave away a silly penalty which was scored by Ramos and France took the championship, Ireland with their win against Scotland took the Triple crown. Probably the best Six Nations season ever this year!

I had a momentary vision of going with a parlay of the three favourites but I held back on that because Wales beat Italy with glimpses of the Wales of 5 years ago.
None of my Parlays ever win (only two, or sometimes three game selections) but never five or eight game parlays.
The Broncos star kicker is out with injury yet again - I wasn't expecting them to win, but now it seems certain they will tank yet again. It's funny how I expect the Broncos at the start of the season to win, they don't so I declair I won't bet on them and then they start to recover. I had six from eight wins in the NRL Round 2 and three from five in the Super Rugby Pacific. This week, I'm gong with: Canberra ($ 1.85) Vs Bulldogs ($ 1.95) - I feel it's close, but the Bulldogs will win. Syd Roosters Vs Penrith ($ 1.55) Melbourne ($ 1.36) Vs Brisbane Newcastle v Warriors ($ 1.55) Cronulla Vs Dolphins ($ 2.75) - it's a big ask with the Dolphins taking on the Sharks at "Shark Park" Souths v Wests Tigers ($ 2.40) - the Tigers are in fifth place with just one game played. Hopefully, they don't falter early in the season. Parramatta ($ 1.55) Vs St George Ill (Parramatta is the lesser of two looses) Nth Qld ($ 1.55) Vs Gold Coast - it couldn't possibly be a draw... Across the ditch, I had three wins from five games played. This week, I'm going for the Hurricanes, Brumbies, Reds, Crusaders (ya never know) and the Warritahs.
Tomorrow, the Super League (UK) gets underway - betting on Wigan Vs York is suspended (too close to call) while Warrington ($ 1.04) Vs Castleford ($9) can't be any further apart. I'll pick just two - Wakefield ($ 1.36) and Hull KR ($ 1.34) The League World Cup will be decided on the 15th of November with Australia at $ 1.40 and England on $ 17.00 neat.

And thats the first win clocked up, nice one and a very nice price to boot! I know its way too early in the season but a trend looks like its already forming, Storm and Panthers at the top. I'm surprised to see already the Broncos with 2 losses. Souths v Wests Tigers ($ 2.40) - the Tigers are in fifth place with just one game played. Hopefully, they don't falter early in the season.
That would be something, this time last year they had 2 wins under their belt also. But still finished the season towards the bottom.

Last round, the team I DIDN'T pick scored first on multiple occasions causing me to mutter "I'm screwed" under my breath. Only two teams ended up loosing. Melbourne to Brisbane and the Tigers to Souths. At half time in the Sea Eagles Vs Roosters game, Manly are ahead 10 - 6. My money is on the Roosters. Other pics this round are: New Zealand Warriors Dolphins (the Broncos are in all kinds of off field troubles at the moment)Bulldogs Panthers Storm Sharks Dragons. In the Super Rugby Round seven, I'm going with the Highlanders, Brumbies, Hurricanes, Blues and Chiefs.

Ouch Timelord, The Wests Tigers just clocked up another decisive win over the Warriors! I wonder what the odds were on the Tigers? I'm assuming the Warriors at home were favourites. ...and the Dolphins pull off a win too, looks like they got something together
I'm keeping an eye on Storm now for a few weeks and see will they be worthy of betting on them for every round following.

Just looking at the NRL ladder now and look who is sitting in top spot - its only the Panthers! Could it be that last year was just a bump in the road, a season to reset?
i am half thinking of applying the strategy which last year let me down and could this year be a kind of redemption - just to bet on every Panthers match to win for the rest of the season, thats over 20 rounds at this stage.

Worth a shot - I've been backing the Dolphins who untill last night had an impressive start to the year. (mumble 52 - 18 loss to the Sea Eagles at their home field). At the moment, the Rabbitohs are ahead 22 - 18 against the Bulldogs (who my money is on). I've picked a couple of underdogs again this week, just not the Rabbitohs. Screenshot via NRL.com This early in the season, the Panthers are in first place (which again makes me question their end of year collapse last year). The Warriors, Tigers, Knights, Rabbitohs, Bulldogs and Roosters are all in second place on six points. (they make up the "top seven of the top eight")The rest of the field is in third on six points (midway through the fifth round) The Raiders, Titans and Dragons are in my relegation zone (with the Eels a potential candidate for relegation if they don't pull their socks up)

Have the NRL finally introduced a relegation system to the league?
Ah Rabbitohs win in the end Timelord, I wonder if they are "back" to the top tier of the ladder for the season and grand final contenders?
If the Panthers beat Storm later today I am for sure going to back them in every round remaining in the season - lets see what happens. Odds are 1.29 to 3.20.
I also see the Wests Tigers are favourites against the Knights in next weeks round, lets see how they get on against the favourites the Eels this week!

Have the NRL finally introduced a relegation system to the league? Sadly no - it'd made for a more real competition with teams at the bottom desperate to win to avoid relegation.
Yeh, the Panthers won 50 - 10 with the Storm's coach looking haunted after last week's loss. This loss cuts even deeper. I also see the Wests Tigers are favourites against the Knights in next weeks round, lets see how they get on against the favourites the Eels this week!
For the rest of the extended week-end, I'm picking the Cowboys, Broncos, Sharks, Knights and of course the Tigers. In the Super Rugby, just three games this weekend. As expected, the Crusaders won easliy against Fijian Drua. Next up, just two more games. I expect the Chiefs to win against the Waratahs. Then, the Reds against the Western Force.

The Reds got beaten by the Western Force. Two from three isn't too bad I guess. In the NRL, the Panthers have suffered their first lost being beaten by the Bulldogs 32 -16... Like everyone else, my money was on the Panthers (after five wins, that was their first lost of the season). In tonight's early game, the Sea Eagles should fend of the hapless Dragons. Then later on, I expect the Broncos to be obliterated by the Townsville Cowboys. (not the least because the number of casualties in the Broncos team could form their own team), Tomorrow, the Rabbitohs, Roosters and Warrirors should fend off the competition. While on Sunday, the Titans should pickle the Eels before the most expected game of the Round with the Tigers (who are 2nd on the ladder!!) will probably slay the Knights. In the Super Pacific Rugby, my picks are the Brumbies, Chiefs, Fiji, Hurricanes and Crusaders. (and in the Super Netball, the Vixens, Thunderbirds, Lightning and Fever should win this round)

OMFG - this literally happened me last season, as soon as I started betting solely on the Panthers and Storm If I remember, Panthers started losing. This season and from what I said earlier I didnt actually bet on the Panthers this week, I just 'didnt get around to it' Next question - do you back them next week regardless against the Dolphins, again they will be away for that match? Will that loss to the Bulldogs be "one of a handfull of losses" they will suffer this season or is it the start of the unfavelling..........?

Will that loss to the Bulldogs be "one of a handfull of losses" they will suffer this season or is it the start of the unfavelling..........? The Panther's loss is probably going to be one of their only losses for the season. Already, the Panthers, Tigers and Warriors look to be the "top three" teams to watch. I'm looking forward to this afternoon's Tiger's game. I'm part of an "ESPN Footy tipping" group of about 35 people - all bar one of us tipped the Panthers to win, so the Bulldogs win blindsided everyone. Likewise, The win by the NZ Warriors blindsided most people. The Warrior's win against Melbourne was their first in 11 years and 17 encounters. Fortunately, I picked the Warriors and got a tidy sum back which makes up for the Rabbitohs loss to the Raiders. Tomorrow, the Rabbitohs, Roosters and Warriors should fend off the competition.
Then later on, I expect the Broncos to be obliterated by the Townsville Cowboys. (not the least because the number of casualties in the Broncos team could form their own team), Likewise, most people were tipping the Broncos. I expected the game to be more one sided, however, the Broncos and Cowboys scored one point field goals, then the Cowboys scored an unconverted try with just two minutes to go in the game to secure the win. In the Super Pacific Rugby, my picks are the Brumbies, Chiefs, Fiji, Hurricanes and Crusaders.
Four from five wins in the Super Pacific Rugby comp.
