Messi - Mbappe duo did a great job today and helped the team have a comfortable win by 3-0. I didn't see Neymar in the starting eleven this time as Galtier put Sarabia instead. I wonder if there was a special reason for that. Maybe it might be related to the recent transfer rumours and the problems between him and Mbappe. He entered the game in the second half in the place of Mbappe. Maybe these problems don't affect their results in the league much but they should work this out before things get serious in the Champions League.

In addition, Lyon were amazing today. They defeated Angers 5-0 and increased their points to 13. After a very troubling season they have improved their effort very much now. It is still too difficult for them to bother PSG for the title but their main goal would be finishing the season at no less than the second position.

Well PSG needs to test several associations and strategies before CL to be ready for all scenarios since their main objective is to take that title after all money spent.
Lyon scoring 5 goals was impressive.

I don't know whether this can really be considered a test. It's a bit interesting that he lets Messi play the full distance while bringing Neymar from the bench and taking Mbappe off since Messi is the oldest. No it can't be and this is why I specifically mentioned the champions league and the teams they might be facing there. I don't consider 10 goals in Ligue 1 the same as 10 goals in the Premier League. But I am sure that Messi could still play an amazing offensive midfield role for Manchester City. We won't find that out, but Messi still has the speed and extremely smart ideas to put other players into perfect action.

On another note though, I can understand Messi better than Mbappe. Signing a contract in Ligue 1 when all the best clubs in the world want you is less comprehensible. Messi has had his greatest times at Barcelona, but where will Mbappe end up one day? And will he still be able to write history? You don't really write history with PSG unless you win the champions league several times. His reason was the money.

PSG are in one of their best form this season so far. Leo Messi already creating impact and teamwork in the team. Their are rumours cycling Mbappe having issues and gap with Neymar and Messi on the pitch. These players, Messi and Neymar are close enough, even not on the pitch, they go out together and catch fun on more events. I just think Mbappe is a little bit envy or jealous and that doesn't stop him from scoring goals. Leo Messi still assists him in scoring goals, he's leading with the highest number of goals in the club. They're professionals in games and try don't know how to score, with these trio, they have the best set of pair Frontlines in the league.

I agree regarding Haaland being on the right track vs. Mbappe making questionable choices. Would be nice to see Haaland play some international tournaments with Norway as well.

You didn't hear anything about Messi's speed even in his golden years? I am not sure we are talking about the same players, but his speed when it came to acceleration with the ball on his feet was one of a kind. Just watch his best goals. One of them being against Bilbao in Copa del rey, I think there is also a speed analysis somewhere on YouTube. Or the one against Real Madrid when he started at the midfield line. I am not talking about these goals when a player just kicks it forward 30 meters and then runs after it in Usain Bolt style. Speed with the ball on rather short distances. I'd say he was the fastest ever when you put together acceleration, ball control and stopping from full speed to zero, then accelerate again. Let me know if you know a player who has done that better and maybe even more often than Messi.

I am not entirely sure, he is great at PSG which means that he will have amazing Domestic career if he stays here, I am sure he will score as many as anyone can, he could reach to Messi levels for sure, maybe he will fail, but he "can", the potential is there with such a dominant team and a great striker.

Secondly he could be awesome in national team as well because he is great and plays with a great team, even though ronaldo scored a lot, and messi did too, they did not have a team as good as France if you ask me. Only question remaining would be UCL, and not like they are bad there neither, he could have good numbers. I am not saying he will be like Ronaldo, but he would be good enough that he would be top 5 IF he plays like this for another 10 years which he can if he works hard.

for Mbappe to reach the level of messi, ronaldo and neymar he would need to leave PSG and be in teams like barcelona or real madrid or even bayern and be lucky when being in one of these teams win more than twice the league champions and he would also need to be lucky for france to perform well in the world cup. PSG is a great team but only in france, when they are in the champions league playing against teams outside france I could see that they are not as superior as in france, maybe that scenario will change with this new coach. but i have my doubts

The most important thing is to keep this effort throughout the season. They might be able to join the Champions League finally at the end.

Their biggest rendezvous is against PSG in a home match in two weeks. They drew with PSG 1-1 here the last time. If we see a strong effort by Lyon in this most difficult match of them then I can be more confident about a successful year for them.

Paris SG has an excellent squad. They have one of the best offensive lines in the world right now. Neymar, Mbappe and Messi are playing perfectly. Even before the match starts, the psychological superiority is on the side of Paris SG. They won 3-0 this week and continue to lead the league. They scored 24 goals and conceded only 4 goals.  It's obvious how well they get along. I think Paris SG is one of the big favorites for UCL this year.
