Manu had lots of flops in their defence. The two goals the conceded were purely poor defense. Ten Hag needs to improve on his defense tactics. The second half saw lots of opportunities for united but they could not seal them behind the net. For now it is too early to start making critic comments to Ten Hag he needs time to test his strategy until he finds a perfect one he will be comfortable with

the reason why MU and ten hag are so keen on de jong is so that he is able to cover the gaps in United's mid-back midfield, really sad to see Manchester United lose at home to Brighton and this is ten hag's first defeat at Old Trafford.

Even though Manchester United got ten hags the club still performed below expectations in the last match, if you noticed Manchester United have started having management problems before the beginning of last season. This affected the club's performance last season and the same is repeating itself in the present season.

Well given that Brighton was 9th last season, they are practically better then some teams but its a new season and basically every player should starts at the top of their game. Kinda understandable if it is against last season top four but it was Brighton and Ten Hag had a bad start and most fans are complaining that nothing really changed somehow

Seriously! was this a coincidence? I don't think so. Brighton performed well enough. And they deserve this win. Manchester United had more of the ball possession in the first half and played defensively. On the other hand, Brighton tried to score. United's players made several attacks but I did not see any strong attacks. Brighton won and they won with a good performance. This is no coincidence. If the performance of Manchester United does not improve, they will not get the expected performance in the upcoming matches

In addition, Erik said that their main goal is to win every game, not to look at statistics or see who performs better, but that even if they were the best on the field, the goals weren't coming.

Manchester United performances was  a surprise to me because in preseason matches they did very well , I was not expecting them to start the league so poorly.  Their performance during the preseason game convinced me that Manchester United will of the same level of city and Liverpool  but I was dissapointed.

I was away and just saw the highlights. Damn, we started with some weird results and some truly bad performances.

Liverpool wasn't at their best and it's always tough to lose 'easy' points, especially in the first game of the season. Hopefully we improve fast, this league is unforgiving.

All Erik ten Hag needs is time, he's definitely going to win games at Old Trafford. United losing their first game to Brighton was just a coincidence but Erik ten Hag now knows his mistakes and wrong substitution. Erik ten Hag been criticize by fans saying he's not capable of managing the team.

I would not go as far as saying that Erik ten hag isn't capable of managing the team, neither wll i say that Manchester United's loss to Brighton was a coincidence, Brighton were the better team, and if they didn't win then it would have been harsh on them, tbh, i don't know why people are expecting too much from this team, it is practically the same players from last season, they have not made any convincing signings, thus i'd not expect a different outcome.

Erik ten hag will succeed in Manchester United, only if the board will change and start making quality signings, there is definitely something wrong with the structure at Manchester United, and if that doesn't change, they will continue changing managers with no change in performance to show for it.

Erik Tan Hag could be a great manager all I know, with this roster and the same problematic defense, even Sir Alex Ferguson wouldn't be able to get this team to a good place. I am not saying that there isn't a potential there, with all team healthy they could have a potential, but they seriously need to get at least one superstar level defender. If they get that ONE defender, and replace Maguire, then they are going to be fine, because as long as they lack defensive talent, they will keep on getting scored every game, and as long as they do that then they are not going to be good at all. If I were me, I would have spent all the money United has to getting at least 2 defenders, and if possible better wing backs.

Ten Hag needs to be given some time. The team he took over is really far away from the type of teams he likes to manage - but the pressure in United is huge and he knows he'll have to show some progress from the start.

Starting with a loss is always bad for a new manager coming in, leaving Ronaldo out of the starting lineup will cause him even more problems in a situation like this.

I really like him as a coach but I feel that he took an impossible job. This United team needs 3 transfer windows to sort itself out and he'll have to earn these 3 windows with a team that can't play his type of football.

Aston Villa are the favorites in the match against Everton where Villa's odds are much lower than Everton. Villa have had some important players this season and that makes them look better than Everton. I believe Villa's win is more than 2 goals, but a draw must also be considered. This is because both teams started the season in a bad way where their defeat made me think the possibility of a draw existed.

Yeah, Both teams started with previous lost, Everton lost vs Chelsea by 1 goal difference, while Aston Villa lost vs Bournemouth by 2 goals difference. Although Everton lost they could defend a difference of only 1 goal, maybe they could defend the Aston Villa attack with a thin goal score as well. So I personally think the score will end with Aston Villa winning but only 2-1.

In a situation like this it's hard to blame who but seeing erik ten hag not playing cristiano ronaldo in the first half is a strong reason for fans to criticize their strategic policies in their early matches. Even Brighton could score 2 goals in the first half, triggering a pretty strong reaction to the Manchester United game in the first half. Rashford also missed several of his best chances to score and several Manchester United players seemed to have lost concentration in their early matches so that their game in the first half was quite unbalanced.
Some football observers also said that Manchester United game had not changed a bit from last season so they attacked Erik Ten Hag by accident because this was Erik first match in the Premier League.

You’re right about one thing, the pressure on him to Ten Hag to turn things around at Manchester United is huge and can be overwhelming and he knows he should show some improvements soon and fast.
While a loss on the first game in the new season of the premier league doesn’t look good in his résumé, it probably wouldn’t define his stay at the club. He needs time and space to work his magic but he doesn’t have much time as the fans demand to see improvements now.

I expected that Manchester United would start like this, if you look at my old post you will see that I said this, I don't trust them because some players are really clumsy in terms of defense, watch the first goal in detail and you will understand what I mean. Except for the United match, City made a solid opening in the City-Westham match, and Halaand, who was criticized in the friendly matches, carried his team well by scoring two goals.

This was the main reason why Ronaldo wanted to left as well. Sure going to an UCL team where he will get paid handsomely and then play as the main striker and having a lot of goals is the "main" reason on public, but if he believed that they made changes good enough to fight for a title or something then he would have stayed one year and get a title or at least try to.

But, he saw that defense was the biggest reason they sucked last year, Maguire was a big problem, and the team did absolutely nothing about it and even lost Pogba along the way as well. United looks like they do not actually want to get better, they are aiming at worse by the looks of the transfers if you ask me.

I watched the goals after and saw that they conceded because of defensive mistakes again. They are just still unable to figure a way out about this weakness of them. Maguire is still preferred by Erik ten Hag as well which is another thing that is hard to get. He was obviously the worst player of the team last season. How can he trust him like this in the first league game already?

Given the performances of all the last years by Liverpool and Manchester City, I simply don't see any other team in the position to win the title. Even Chelsea has trouble to keep up their level of play over a whole season. 93 and 92 points, respectively, are just too much even for Chelsea. Actually it is quite crazy to achieve that in the Premier League. I know in La Liga that also happens at times, but the league is weaker and still you have had two giants in the past in the form of Real and Barca. I am extremely curious about Haaland's performance. Haaland is still a crazy improvement. For Liverpool it is just Nunez who might be able to make a difference, but then Liverpool also lost Mane. Bottom line in my opinion is that Man City even managed to improve. Not so sure about Liverpool.

In PL we have 6 giants and lot of underdogs so the level of competition is really tough here. You just can't predict anything for sure and well that's the case with every league but in here it's very hard to predict compared to any other leagues. That's what makes PL stand out that rest of others and that's why people love it the most.

I don't know about others but I like unique and PL is unique and exciting.

I would be willing to take a bet against you and I say that Manchester City is going to become the Premier League champion. I doubt that Liverpool will be able to compete on that level this year (just talking the PL). I expect Manchester City to be extremely dominant week after week and I can't really see how they are going to lose five games or so. I just don't think it is going to happen. You will then need another team that is able to score in the range of 90 points plus. Who is that going to be?

WHU 0 - 2 Manchester City

This is the first debut of Haaland in the official EPL first match by Man City and he can really prove that he is a star player.
Well, you are right, although so many shots were created, most of them have low accuracy. But, Halland made 2 goals beautifully in that match. We know that actually, Man City should have had more scores at that time but at least this is enough than with 2-0 when against West Ham.
Right now, the standing has been changed and for now, Tottenham is in the first rank with 4 scores.

I still can't understand the mindset and strategy of Ten Hag for Man United. He was very bad at managing the team so far, why he still has that squad lineup, he is arrogant, and only thinks about the position. Really bad situation, Man United really has no more chances to change if Ten Hag still uses that strategy and lineup

Remove Manchester United from that list of clubs you listed to have the potential to win the premier league, because Manchester United have lost what it takes to come top of other clubs and if care is not taken Manchester United will fall into relegation next season, hope you know they're lost their last match.

I expect ten hag to be knocking at the door of Manchester United board and telling them that mctomminay and Fred are not good enough, that they are not the players to take his team to the next level, and one thing I also learnt last weekend is that Christian eriksen can do the job Manchester United wants from frenkie dejong, he showed that in the second half once he fall back deep, so United should focus more on attacking players to help score goals, because they really needs goals scorers in that team

People who are not Manchester United fans can see this, but I can't understand how Maguire is, he is definitely played in every manager period. For Harry Maguire, the era of irreparable mistakes may soon begin. I don't think Manchester United will show any more compensation.

Did the season not just start, why the quick assumptions and giving up on them even before the season gets off properly? The football season is to run from august to may next year (2023) from what I saw and I am still looking to see a team to support, I have not written off manchester united yet from my options, I will make a proper decision about the club to show support to in like two more weeks, after seeing some more games.
