It looks like Man United was not given a chance to score a single goal. Brighton really complicates every move that is built. Erik ten Hag has not been fully able to control the players as ideal as expected. I don't know what if the second half later Man United can't turn things around. Ronaldo will be deployed and should be able to turn things around.

Man United did get a pretty good result in the Pre-Season, but against Brighton in the Premier League, their performance still looks like last season, where their defense is still a weak point and their midfield lacks creativity. It's as if the inclusion of Ten Hag and the players he's contracted doesn't make any significant changes. The game isn't over yet, and Man United still has a chance, but they have to work hard to make it happen.

manchester needs ronaldo. why erik ten hag didn't play ronaldo from the first minute. even though from the start he really wanted to keep Ronaldo for this season but in reality Ronaldo had to sit on the bench and watch Manchester United being beaten 2-0 in the first half. I don't believe Manchester United can turn things around in this second half if Ronaldo is not played in this match.

But I didn't enjoy the games they played in pre-season. Really a difference I feel here. Apart from that, Brighton have a very impenetrable defense and their attacks are effective.

I sincerely did not see any difference between the Manchester united of last season and Manchester United of this season. Same players and same ideology of the players. The coach might be different but I tell you the Erik of a man has not been able to bend the club as he wants presently. The team still has the likes of Maguire, Mc Tommy,  Fred yet they want to play nice football. They need magic to do that. All England clubs are prepared, if Manchester united continue this way, they will lead the journey to relegation.

AFAIK this is the aftermath of Ronaldo who did leave before the game ended in pre-season against Rayo some time ago.
But so far it seems that Ten Hag's formation and scheme are not living up to their expectations. Now they are 1 goal behind as Brighton managed to score in the 30th minute on the other hand not many chances have they created even with superior possession they have had very few chances so far.

I can understand why Erik ten Hag kept Ronaldo on the bench, what Ronaldo did when facing Rayo by leave before the game was over was indeed
a bad act. But I was surprised by Ten Hag's experiment with Eriksen as a striker, and it didn't seem to work as expected. Moreover, returning to
Maguire as a starter is a big mistake, it is proven that now Man United are two goals behind by Brighton. Looks like Ten Hag should immediately
enter Ronaldo in the second half, because making Eriksen play in the striker position makes Man United not take many kicks. Although Man United
dominated the match, Brighton took more shots. At least Man United must make the match end in a draw, because if they lose against Brighton at home,
this will make the confidence of Man United players even worse.

Missing two goals is difficult while Manchester United must be able to make changes in the second half to change the score because I don't believe it will be a win.
Ronaldo is on the bench, I think this has a little bit of an influence why Eriksen why being a center striker should be Ronaldo's position in the first half and Ten Hag only played in the second half for Ronaldo, but even though Manchester United controlled the game they were not able to kick on goal Brighton more because for me the striker is less aggressive.

That's really bad. Eriksen can do nothing for MU. Brighton is too strong for MU. Brighton may add more goal in the second round. It seems like MU will be loosing in this game. Ten hag may think again to let ronaldo play in the team. Eriksen didn't give a lot of contribution.
It shows how bad experiment that already made by ten hag. Eriksen's debut was also very bad as well? Possible 4-0? Let's see

Brighton played pretty neatly at the back. they don't have much possession of the ball but the attack they build is very good.
Man United looks in a hurry to make a goal. yes, they did need to equalize soon but their possession and attacking arrangement was always broken by the Brighton defense. in the first half Man United didn't make many shots, they had to find a solution for this soon.

I could see United possibly getting the equalizer if they could get they're act together.  But yeah, it looks like we're all seeing the same problems as before.  Gaps in their formation when they don't have the ball, players seem all over the place, no communication between players.  They suck.

What Ten Hag do now is let the 'unwanted one' on the pitch...  Get Ronaldo in to make two goals.

Somehow I'm pretty sure both Manchester will win in this opening match, actually if I think about it I will doubt it considering the opponent is not an easy team if I look at last season. I'm just optimistic that their positive trend in pre-season games will probably continue the same as Arsenal too, so yes I put both of them in a parlay bet. Regardless of the result, win or lose, at least I have hope for both of them to win the match in their first match because they have worked hard to build the team for this season.

If he didn't know the level of challenge he will have to face, The coach of Manchester United Erik has just gotten a clear introduction of what he has in front of him in the premier league where every team is looking to outplay the other. The midfield of Manchester United is looking absent in this game and the defenders have made several mistakes that Brighton has punished them for. Ronaldo was warming up before the second half, let's see if his introduction in the game will have any effect in the second 45mins.

Ronaldo second half will definitely be deployed to balance the strategy. Although I can't fully guarantee anything if you look at Brighton performance, which makes every line so closely guarded. Just look at the back and the middle that was deliberately installed by G Potter who knew that Manchester United had difficulty dealing with it. So far Erik Ten Hag will focus on reducing the position if possible. But unfortunately, I see a slim possibility.

Am sorry to say this , but this left side for Brighton that has Maguire is the game plan for Brighton, and it's simple get the ball anywhere near Maguire and see the opportunities that present themselves and I thought this team would do better without CR7,unfortunately that's not going well...time for the big guns.

i think the experiment from ten haag didn't get a good enough result as it proved they lost 2-0 in the first half. I think Ten Hag should immediately field Christian Ronaldo on the edge to make a difference in the game. It's certainly not too late for Manchester United to improve their game in the first half.

I believe that Ronaldo will start the second half, I don't know why he should be on the bench in the first half. Perhaps they underestimated Brighton & Hove Albion. Without Ronaldo, I don't believe Manchester United will defeat Brighton & Hove Albion, and I'm not really impressed by how Manchester united are playing. But I think things will turn around with Ronaldo in the second half.

The way Manchester United are playing it has no difference of last season,  their is no change. Maybe this is what Ronaldo is avoiding, to come and experience the same pattern of performance. The number of goals Brighton has score I am not sure it will be for Manchester United to meet up to equalize the game.

Simple reasoning because Ronaldo hasnt been in most of the pre season games therefore he will most likely play as a sub. Two things that are kinda unexpected was that Maguire still holds the captain band and it seems the major problem from last season which is defence is pretty much still a problem for the team as Brighton scored first. This kinda let me down abit though especially its a home game

I think the reasons you give are very reasonable. Cristiano Ronaldo had to play as a substitute as he never played during Manchester United's pre-season.
Actually the decision to make Harry Maguire as Captain must be reviewed. During the first 45 minutes of the first half, his role in Manchester United's defense was still the same as last season. Instead I saw Martinez who had to work hard on his own.
I'll be waiting for your comments regarding football. I think you understand the development of Premier League clubs very well.

That's good enough to prove him changing ronaldo was a big mistake by him. The result from this match will make him try to re-evaluate his strategy. Putting eriksen at the center is the worst thing. Second half may become a very bad game if there was not player from MU getting changed.
The old history is happening again. That's why some big players were rejecting to join in MU. A lot of evaluation is needed.
