Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024

Almost all of the matches ended up with expected results for me. I was just surprised about the result of the Fulham v Liverpool one. Because like most people, I also waited for Liverpool to beat their opponent and start solidly. But they just had some serious difficulty in doing this. The team I loved to watch the most today were Tottenham. They really destroyed Southampton 4-1 even though they were 1-0 behind first. Tottenham have given good signals for the season.

Highest goal scoring player in the championship Mitrovic was directly involved with the both goals of Fulham. They was the better side at every corner of the pitch, really was impressed with their first performance.

Darwin Nunez, scoring on he's premier league debut wasn't something I looked up to, but then he did anyways. Now with Liverpool loosing Thiago Alcantara on injury today they will struggle a little bit creating chances and keeping possession. Spurs ? I'm rooting for them to win the Premier League, see the way they came back into the game after conceding ? That's how a team should be!

It is definitely a weird result to see Liverpool getting a tie against Fulham, but it is the first week, we shouldn't judge them right away. Plus they lost Mane, who was a very important player for the team, so there could be some weeks where they are having trouble adjusting to play without him, they do have a lot of amazing players still, and they will stay being an amazing team, just because Mane is out doesn't mean they will be terrible.

But, it just means that they will have a bit of a trouble adjusting for a while, after a while though they will be used to playing with this roster and they will be doing a lot better in the long run for sure.

In this case it is a little different than imagined but in this case it is unethical to say Liverpool played badly just because Mane wasn't there.
At the moment it's a shame but I think they're still pretty good, at least this draw makes them realize that they have to make better moves to get through the season.

Most of the first matches have been run by several teams there and the results are quite good for Arsenal and Tottenham at the moment because indeed they managed to score a win here but it is interesting to see Liverpool who have to be willing to share the points and I appreciate Fulham's play in this match.
Now what I'm waiting for is the City and MU match for the big teams because indeed they are also worth waiting for how the result will be.

You probably forgot to mention Chelsea name. Chelsea also recorded an early win in the season by beating Everton. The big teams are indeed interesting to watch, especially as we will be rewarded with beautiful games by the star players who were brought in this summer window. Manchester city will play tomorrow in their first match against Westham and manchester united will play Brighton. at the start of this season aston villa had to swallow their first defeat against Bournemouth, Newscatle also recorded a pretty good trend at the start of the season with a win.

I will be waiting for Haaland to make his EPL debut with Manchester City tomorrow and I hope he doesn't disappoint in his first appearance.

Yeah, I missed there Chelsea won by a narrow score and only from a penalty there, but indeed this result managed to make them keep 3 points in their first game.
But there are still some adjustments that Chelsea must make now because they still can't be cohesive, especially for the attack line.

btw I also saw Newcastle who performed quite well in this match which made my hope for Newcastle big enough to be the underdog this season.

the first few games it's a matter of accumulating the points. We can't expect to see all eye-watering football from all the top teams. In the beginning they are happy that they have won, and players from a number of teams have also left and come, so you need more time in the competition to get used to each other. It's like the result was out of the expectation with the drawn result from Liverpool. I am sure that many people predicted that Liverpool would win the match quite easily because we know that Liverpool is a strong team. But yeah, this result also may shock Liverpool itself.
At least, they were drawn, not lost. does it mean that probably the position replaced for mane is quite important, so that their attacking line may be not as strong as previous season?

Tuchel uses Kai Havertz as false 9 and it has worked for them but it doesn't brings much goals unless wingers are tough goalscorers. I haven't seen much goals from Mount and Sterling lately but yeah they can score some. If they want to score goals then they need to bring out Werner or Broja who are good strikers or maybe Michy but still they are lacking a strong striker.

Yeah thats pretty much the reason that he still uses this false 9 strategy and is rumoured to bring in Ronaldo. I kinda feel that Chelsea is quite similar to Liverpool though but the difference for now would be that Chelsea has no striker that is capable of playing that front striker role and if they can actually find a player that would fit that role then they are going to dominate most of the games

Which is not according to predictions when we think Liverpool can win easily lol but it doesn't matter Liverpool only lost 1 point there are still many matches left
Next we will wait for the West Ham vs Man City match of course Man City is a favorite but will they get a draw too? because the start of the season is unpredictable

The season is just started, we can't judge Liverpool to be hard to experience this new season. It is true that they have a lot of time to improve their mentality and their performance in playing. They may be unlucky in the first match, they must be more serious and prepare their squad better for the next matches. About Man City, they look to have a better preparation because there is not much difference in their main squad (main players/key players), while Liverpool has lost 1 crucial player (Mane). Losing Mane seems to have a big impact on Liverpool performance, moreover if the new player can't play as expected.

It was an amazing start to the league by especially Tottenham. After I saw that Southampton scored first I started to think that the game would be quite difficult for them. But they showed easily how they could make a huge comeback after. They are the team that have made the best start so far. However this can change tomorrow as Manchester City are playing against West Ham. It is normally not an easy game for them though but we don't know yet if West Ham will be able to perform like in the previous season at least.

Newcastle managed to show their strength to a team that had just been promoted and I think with the current squad it will be quite promising for newcastle to be in the top 10...

Newcastle United has great prospects this season but I feel that this first game although the won is not enough for us to rate them just yet. They had the home advantage against a team that just returned to the Premier League after more than two decades. I am of the opinion that Nottingham forest would have been more motivated to put up a better performance and score at least a goal had they played in front of their home crowd. I am very optimistic about Nottingham forest this season, I like to see how well they will perform.

Fulham 1 - 0 Liverpool

 

we are losing, this is scary because this is the first game, and in the first game we can have a vision of what the next games can be, at least we will be able to see the strength of the team, if the team can beat strong, medium or weak teams and if it's a team that can fight for the title, honestly we're having problems in attack. should have bought some great player for the attack. this current attack is no longer a surprise for premier league. we are in a bad situation

  You start to panic too quickly and draw far-reaching conclusions. There is still a whole half ahead and Liverpool can correct the situation in their favor. Plus, even one unsuccessful match does not mean anything, although remembering the past season, I would like to avoid losing points at the start of the championship, because at the end they were so lacking.

I was right to panic, we lost points in that game, and our opponents won, of our biggest opponents, all we need is for City to play tomorrow, and they will play against west ham that has been causing City headaches when they face each other , but City have reinforced their attack and that is a great advantage, city has managed to have good players


Bournemouth 2 - 0 Aston Villa

what the hell happened to aston villa? they asked for a newbie account or rather they lost against a team that was in the premier league and were relegated and now they are back and from what I see they are stronger, I hope aston villa recovers in the next game, they didn't even manage to score 1 goal

Aston Villa game really appeared very chaotic during the match against Bournemouth. the defense side is quite fragile even they have to be willing to lose 3 points in their initial match. Gerrard must be able to take their weaknesses to be improved in the next game. He must be able to arrange a better strategy to be able to win the next match. The initial match was difficult to predict because some players were almost inconsistent when holding the ball and this I saw in the performance that was displayed by Coutinho in this match he really lost control in front of the opponent's goal.

Chelsea got 3 points too, letting Liverpool the only one to lose points so far within big clubs.
WHU - City will not be that easy imo if West Ham will play as they used to do. Brighton wasn't bad last season and will play vs ManU. Both Manchester teams and Leicester are favourites in tomorrow's game.

I didn't watch this match but I was surprised of the 4 Tottenham goals none of scored by Soon and Kane is this just a coincidence or there is an old issue
It's a bit strange when the mainstay player doesn't score even though we know these two players are very productive in scoring goals even in the top score candidate last season.

Fulham played an amazing match against Liverpool and deserved to win it,Liverpool with a lot of luck scored that second goal. Also no body is commenting how Aleksandar Mitrovic played he scored two goals and made a penalty for their team and breaking the ankles of Wan Dijk

It's a shame actually when you see the replay of the foul that led to a penalty there but apart from that, in this match Fulham appeared extraordinary even though they were indeed a promoted team but being able to hold Liverpool was really extraordinary for them.
It would be very good if they continue like this although I think it is still a little difficult to maintain.

I didn't expect Liverpool first game for the season to be like this , it wasn't impressive at all . Liverpool would have  fullham to get their first 3 point,  this is not a good start for Liverpool.  I just hope they don't continue like this.

Yeah totenham performance is pretty amazing to create a huge comeback. The lily whites are spreading messages to the another club if the team has become a strong team again. I do like the atmosphere in the premier league where almost all of team are trying to become very competitive.
This is unlike another league that was always dominated by the big team.

I don't think this is an issue at all, it doesn't matter who scores and this is just one match, I don't think we should count a 4-1 comeback as an issue, there is a reason they play as a whole team and not just two players, anyways, this season is going to be really interesting, tottenham seem to be in a good form and so is Man City, Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea, we'll see some crazy battles between them.

I haven't had much time.to comment on today's games but, it was pretty bad for Liverpool.  They were disappointing and don't seem to play like the team that most of us even though we don't say it, are expecting to be champions of the EPL ahead of Manchester City. To have done just okay in the preseason and even got to beat Manchester City in the community shield, hopes were up and now, all we get is a Fulham 2:2 Liverpool.  Hope Fulham gets to keep this up though.

Chelsea on the other hand seemed to have escaped a draw by a thread. This is a note to Tuchel on how the team has deteriorated under his watch with his selective nature in the transfers.

it turned out that chelsea was quite good in its inaugural match against everton in the premier league this season. I was worried before the game started. because after all I have predicted chelsea will win. and it turned out that throughout the match chelsea performed quite well. even in possession of the ball is superior to Everton, which is compared to 63%: 37%. and that means chelsea is quite dominating. but after this match there will be 2 players who leave chelsea. and it is very dear.
