There is no chance in hell that Ronaldo is going to retire from club football now, he will however retire from national duties if Portugal win the WC (he has confirmed that himself), but that is two different things. Ronaldo has two options, he either moves out of Europe to a less competitive league (there's a big contract waiting for him in Saudi Arabia) that is going to pay him tons and tons of money, he could prolly play there for 3 years, make a lot of money and then retire. Or he could find himself a club in Europe, he loves to play at the top, thus i am pretty sure this is the option he would love to take, i hear Chelsea are still interested.

Having said that, the termination by Manchester United not only makes things easy for themselves, but for Ronaldo too, as any team that wants him now aren't paying any transfer fee, he would be joining them for free, they only have to worry about his salary/wages, it makes life easier for Ronaldo, and i am pretty sure he would start getting offers from now, right to the end of the WC.

I think retiring is the final decision and at this point in view of Ronaldo's condition and his high level of competition it is clear he will not make this the final decision.
He can still play for at least a few more years and his body condition is still quite good even though his productivity is starting to decline.
There are also several clubs who are trying to get close to Ronaldo but at the moment he is keeping quiet but as of now I am pretty sure that he will still continue to play and will not decide to hang up his boots after this incident.

I don’t understand why will he retire now when he can actually play for 2 or 3 years in a top league, or move to USA and play there. Furthermore whatever happened was bad but in a way I’m happy, because he was getting wasted on the bench and he was getting a huge wage per week which can now be used for buying a new striker which Manchester United badly need.

Therefore, he has quite a lot of options now so there is no reason for him to retire this soon especially since he can still play well in a match.
Right now I don't expect him to go to MLS or the league in the Middle East actually because seeing him who is still ambitious actually MLS and leagues in the Middle East or Asia will not fulfill his thirst to compete and I still hope he plays in the domestic leagues in Europe where the competition is still quite big.
