Chelsea does have quite a lot of defenders if we look at the list of players Chelsea have, but there are not many that can be relied on now.
For center back only Thiago Silva and Kalidou Koulibaly who I think can make a good contribution, while the rest are young people whose
appearance is less consistent. While Azpilicueta and Alonso are still in the process of negotiating with Barcelona, if the two players move,

I have heard that Chelsea have made their offer for Sevilla centre-back Jules Kounde already. It is 47 million pounds according to news. Barcelona have also been targeting to sign him actually so I'm wondering whether they will also make an offer soon. You have a good point there. Chelsea already have many centre-backs. However maybe they are still indecisive about choosing a player beside Koulibaly in the starting eleven. Maybe they are even thinking of making a new signing for solving this problem. That can be the reason why they are going for Kounde also now. However they had better sell some centre-backs in the team in case this deal is completed successfully. Otherwise there can be a serious unhappiness situation among some of these players.

By the way I don't know if Liverpool really need him now. They have Salah above all else and they must be thinking of him as Salah's substitute. Harvey Elliott is there for that too actually. They have to more be consistent, Sadio Mane is very beneficial until the last week which means Liverpool certainly lost the style when Mane still was inside. So if they can change the style after, I think it's not a problem. In Latin football, Nunez has a bit different while controlling a ball when compared it with Mane from Africa, so we will see on the front Liverpool like Suarez again, Darwin could be a single attacker.

IMO I don’t think Liverpool actually need Antony now. Liverpool just tied Mohamed Salah down to a new three-year mega deal. And Salah also operates in Antony's favourite position, out wide on the right-hand side. So there won’t be much play time for him if he goes to Liverpool. Shaqiri and Minamino spent a lot of years in Liverpool and couldn’t see playing time. It’s not the right time for him to move to Liverpool. Rejoining his former manager in Manchester United might be the best move for him since he already knows his work ethics and how he want to use him in his team.

Yes you are right, from what I have seen many people are so confident that Darwin Nunez will be able to replace Sadio Mane, in the sense that he will be successful at least Liverpool will not feel the loss of a player who helped them the last few seasons (Sadio Mane). we can't say that they Liverpool have failed and played badly after the departure of Sadio mane, they did get a bit of a bad result in the Pre-season game but not necessarily they will also get the same result in the official competition.
