He didn't get good respect from Manchester United before he ended his contract with Manchester United. Even before the end of his contract with Manchester United, we heard rumors that Erik Ten Hag would be looking for a new goalkeeper for next season. We have to expect that Liverpool will return in the competition after their horrible season. They lost Firmino who moved to Al Hilal in Saudi Arabia league for free and they got two midfielders who could boost the team.
I agree that the midfield need special attention to make the game be smoother but they need to focus on the attack line too with Salah playing good and Nunez improving his performance.
Until now I don't see Liverpool very competitive for EPL title but picking a Champions League spot or maybe FA or EFL Cup might be possible.

Well, signing hodgson will not change the club. Crystal palace needs a new coach that can change everything in the club. An old guy like hodgson has no capacity to think so hard about how to win the game. A club like crystal palace was forgetting it if the age is also meaning a lot for the capacity of coach in helping the club to build the best strategies. Last season was very bad for the palace.
