I think we saw how good Newcastle United are in this match. I can say that they played a better match against Manchester City than I expected. Newcastle lost 3 points in this match and it's sad for them of course but losing by Manchester City wouldn't be a big deal because right now they are the team with the biggest title contender in the Premier League.

Haaland is good at finishing, but alvarez has more than it.
Alvarez has a very good dribbling success compared with haaland and he could also score the goal from various sides. He is such an underrated striker at this moment.
I must be honest if alvarez can become a key player for manchester city this season. His performance is always growing even better than before.

Furthermore Ten Hag should have played Van De Beek even as a sub he would do a better job then Mount because compare their preseason and you’ll see that Donny was the better player and if Ten Hag doesn’t change something quick he may actually become the first manager of the new season to get the sack.

They had some good chances in the first half. Everyone in United had good chances of scoring in first half but they all sent it wide. And so they were punished in second half quite badly. About Mount, he could be really useful if ten Haag plays him in role where Fernandes plays but that will mean Fernandes going back to defensive midfield position. They can try Van de Beek but it seems right now ten Haag prefers Mount over Van de Beek.

That shouldn't surprise you especially as they were playing like they were scared. I saw the way they played against Aston Villa, like they literally did not let Unai Emery's men breathe and I expected them to do the same to Man City but no, they were content to play safe.
Pep is a coach that knows how to feed on the mistakes of his opponents and some mistakes that the Newcastle side were sorely punished. You wouldn't even know that Kevin de bruyne was absent because of the way Phil Foden managed to cover that lapse( except you count the way Haaland was locked )
 I feel like they didn't do well enough because they had countless opportunities to level the match especially from a chance given to Almiron in the 86-87th min and he went on to waste it. It was just their defense in the person of Danny Burn that helped locked the likes of Foden and Haaland from coming through else there would have been more goals.

Too early to judge this season, but he has got things wrong which has to be rightly questioned. I never thought I would say this but I am not sure Ten Hag knows what he is doing. It may be early days yet but I do not see a sense of structured play or style of play. Horrendous performances all round. If Ten hag still plays Rashford as a striker and start Garnacho, then I will question his decision making… because this team are the same set of players that struggled against wolves last week.

Spurs were really good yesterday. They have been caught a few times as their defense needs to work out a bit more to get in position at most of the times but if I review the performance of Spurs then I would say it was really good. I would say Bissouma and Maddison were key pieces in the midfield as they were the ones dictating the possession for Spurs most of the times.

United were decent but they need to work out more and score on those easy chances otherwise they are working hard for nothing. United needs someone to step up and score for the team. They can score against weak teams but since they are a big name in PL they need to score against big sides as well.

Spurs looked great an incredible dynamic midfield won the game for them but so many good performances all over the pitch. there were waves of positivity even before the kick-off despite Harry kane recent departure they played very well and they had control of the ball the Red were second best for most of the contest and did very little to threaten Ange postecoglous side after half time, however, the reds did show some sign of life creating a handful of meaningful opportunities the best of which fell to Bruno fernandes. Football is all about scoring goals especially when you are playing with a very good opponent united had some good chances but never made the best of it. It was a poor performance from United

IMO this is still a fairness where it must be difficult to face Manchester City even with Newcastle's previous positive record because Manchester City is still much better in terms of players and games.
If you look at Manchester City's statistics in this match, they can only get 4 on target from 14 shots they took.

I quite like the flexibility of the City players where Rodri and Kovacic are moved as deeper midfielders to help the defense and the other 3 Grealish, Alvarez and Foden are used as helpers for attacks so that Haaland can be free in creating opportunities and goals, Manchester City has a complex squad even though some of them cannot play because of problems such as what happened to KDB but with a difference that is not too far between core and reserve players, Manchester City remains free in making formations and schemes that will be carried out in 1 match.

 Of course everyone knows Manchester City are the most outstanding team in Manchester currently since the introduction of Pep Guardiola and Manchester United on the other hand are still battling to go back to glory days  since the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson  and though Erik Ten Hag had a good performance in his first season with Manchester United but they've not really performed with any improvement from the previous season, they managed to win against Wolves at home and refused to learn from their mistakes playing awful in the Midfield area, the only two outstanding players in their recent matches are Aaron Wanbissaka and their goalie Onana the rest are playing like they lack form especially Rashford who's deployed to play in the top 9 area.

 However their neighbours City have been outstanding in the league so far and even beat Newcastle who everyone tough would be tough for them playing without their most creative player Kelvin Debruyne, one player that's been very unfortunate due to the absence of Kelvin Debruyne is Haaland, he's having difficulties in receiving good assists and couldn't convert the few chances the gets to a goal but i think he'll begin to find the net soon.

To avoid conceded goals, you will need to have a good defensive system, not only one or two good defensive players. So far Manchester United have yet successfully built up such good defensive system.

It's true. Their midfielders fail to block counter attacks from Tottenham early and put their defenders and goalkeeper under very dangerous attacks from Tottenham. If Tottenham had finished their counter attacks better, they would have scored more than two goals.

It's big difference than other coaches and previous years.
