I regret I do not posess any skills when it comes to building windows/mac wallets. Could probably do the gitian thing but it feels sloppy to me. I never even use precompiled linux binaries, I prefer to build my own.
Same here. Any windows wallet would have to be compiled using the fixed code also, so there is an urgent need to get it implemented, otherwise the windows wallets will also fail (I presume - I'm not big a windoze user).

Hey, guys. Watch the tone please. No need to make it personal.
I get what Patman's saying. He'll have to do better than that to offend me, but I don't even think he was trying. He just needs to get his equipment running, and is voicing what many of you are feeling.. I get it.
I'm passing comments on to BW, so if he's not reading them here he's getting them by email. I know there's concern that official wallets have not been released yet. I'm not thrilled about it either, and I don't have all the answers. Thanks to 8bitcoder for the stopgap Windows wallet. That helped the network a lot, but we're not done.
I'm looking for someone to compile the Mac wallets. If you know someone trustworthy, please pm me and I'll reach out. I'd offer a modest bounty to the right person.
Yes, the time of all this could have been done better. I'm doing what I can with what I have, and like you all I'm trying to help when I think I have the answers.
I believe Uno is headed in the right direction, and am working to help clear these rocks off the road. I'm here long term, no matter what, and responding to all PM's.

Perhaps a MAC programmer on there could be contracted if we could verify reputation? What about the guys building the Android wallet? Do they build Apple apps too? It was called upwork.com. Was actually merged with the site I was recommended to check here. It is like a remote labor pool kind of thing. They have reputation stars. Have any kind of remote labor. Shows examples of previous work. So you could possibly get an idea if you know what you are looking for I guess.

Notice how Patwoman has a -4 Trust level and a warning about trading with her next to her name.
She's dangerous, has a bad rep, is bossy and needs a fragging.

Gekko, just shut up. You're not constructive either. Could you please leave the other people on the thread alone? Thanks! Jeezus Well said. @Gekko - stay on topic & stop degenerating this thread with insulting, abusive & childish playground comments. Now, about the code. Does anyone know if there a reason why BW won't implement the fix in git? If not, I think forking it & applying the fix is the best option, as PatMan suggested, as it has been too long a delay already & is only putting people off the coin. Adult comments/replies only please

iSpace mining pools tweeted that they have began merge mining Uno.
I have asked them for clarification about how to get started, but it appears you just start mining Bitcoin with them, which makes perfect sense. Here's an udpate from iSpace:

We won't have another choice if BW doesn't come through with it soon imo.

I can do this shortly. I'll post a link to the git repository when done.

I have no clue tbh, I happened upon his thread where he was selling a "bitcoin stealer" and offering to sell emails for scam sites. He decided to be cute and post that I purchased said software to my trust profile. Unfortunately for him, a quick whois reveals he uses the same hosting as a hackerspace where I am a member. Presented this info to their support team, which resulted in him having no home for his scummy software tonight.

@ Siameze: the situation is slowly improving. Reputation is everything. Within two or three years, the Guild will be a trusted institution of the crypto world, know for its bench depth of talent and its honesty.
@ paper wallets/security: wow! Ian and I are learning by the minute: redundancy, acid-proof paper ('Linux USB distro'?). And thanks to Siameze, who is going to teach me Keybase.
