Yes, that's correct. Pr and Un/testnet are completely cross compatible.

You can't send Pr to an Un mainnet addy--they don't use the same leading bit in the address (u vs U) but from the Un testnet to the Pr mainnet and back again works perfectly!

OK, if I understand you correctly this is NOT actually the Un testnet but rather it is a parallel chain of the Un testnet?  i.e. there are two separate blockchains (Pr and Un testnet) and transactions can be sent between the two?

my read (layman):
uno testnet = PRo ... just different skins ... "completely cross compatible"

it is not UNO

A = UNO
B = uno testnet & PRo

blockchain A [is not equal to] blockchain B  ... (u vs U)

blockchain B is the sandbox to test new code.
Will investors buy blockchain B (subject to random tests)?  The lab rat so to speak ... maybe but it must compete with 600 other cryptos.

Again, when BTC-testNET or Doge-testNET starts trading then maybe there is potential for brand dilution.  But until that day "Proto" is just a cool feature of the UNO arsenal.

I also sorta think humans will take a gamble and 'invest' something something proto, just in case. Which DOES subtract from potential Uno purchases. It is what ever.

I just don't see it as any sort of perk to Uno, it does what for Uno exactly? Perhaps it won't shit all over Uno, hyperbole is just more exciting to read. It won't bolster it in any sense.

Hell, was there no ultimate goal when Uno came to be? It was a bit more theatrical in release but the spirit was the same, or that is how i feel anyway.

I am here for monetary reasons, as are most people. Some people dig the tech and enjoy it, not trying to shit on that. It is cool, you guys totally give birth to the next generation of application.

I don't understand how this is hard to understand in 2015. I guess nobody has used a coin's testnet. It's simply "fake" coins to play with for testing purposes. If you just want to play around with UNO but not spare your real coins, then you can test mine the testnet, send coins for testing without worry of losing your Unobtanium. If you don't want to play with test coins from the testnet blockchain, then do nothing with it.

I think this is cool stuff.  I like that the test net has it's own label, as far as I know this is a new thing no other coin does.

It puts the fUN in UN.  (get it like fake UN).  Sorry.  I like pUNs.   ^{WARNING :: UN is NOT cross compatible with fUN}

The negativity is just a reflection of how ardently conservative the general community is.  

(Which is a good thing unto itself ... just that in general we piss on any and all adaption/innovation)

If Hagbard is interested in expanding his education on an interesting aspect of cryptocurrency and bringing it back to share with the Un community, I say enjoy and learn along with him.
This may just be an interesting experiment, or down the road it may point the way for important use cases for Uno.

I don't know of any other cryptocurrencies that have actual working sidechains yet, do you?

Will accept all technical direction, natmccoy. IndiaMikeZulu focusses on community development. We do have a coupla issues to resolve, but my thought is to facilitate Prototanium's price-discovery, get a market going, figure out what comes next.

One: sent 10 Uno to Hagbard*. That's 2.5 Uno for yesterday's gift, and 7.5 if there's any more Proto available at that rate (@ 1:100?).

Two: pardon my bluntness: don't forget, guys, that plenty of established Uno members aren't miners. You miners all absolutely have a right to keep your Proto as you mine them . . . but we all know the long-term problems that that can cause . . .

Three: if momentum continues, IndiaMikeZulu will state our holding and intentions. For example, if more Proto comes from Hagbard, half goes straight to faucet.
