Burnley 2-1 Wolverhampton Wanderers


Wolves never gave up fighting and managed to get a goal back from a very late penalty but Burnley fought hard and are out of the relegation zone and they have played 1 game less than the teams around them. If they win that game in hand they go above Arsenal.

Chelsea 3-0 West Ham United


Chelsea scored in the first 10 minutes and through Abrahams who scored two late goals as West Ham were beaten. Chelsea have picked up just 7 points from a possible 15 points and that is nowhere near what is required to win the EPL but they are up to 5th place in the table. West Ham are 4 points behind Chelsea in 10th place with 21 points.

EFL CUP QUARTER-FINALS RESULT:


Brentford 1-0 Newcastle United

Arsenal 1-4 Manchester City

Brentford reached their first ever semi-final of a major tournament by beating Newcastle. Well done to Brentford for beating a premier league club and hope they get to the final of the Carabao Cup.

This all premier league quarter-final of the FA Cup deserved a mention in this thread. Arsenal have been beaten comprehensively by a relentless Manchester City team and the question needs to be asked about how long Arteta can continue to be manager of Arsenal. Guardiola put out a team with the intent to win and they did. Manchester City are through to the semi finals of they Cup competition they won last time round.

Manchester United have a difficult away match against Everton, it would not surprise me if Everton won. Stoke vs Tottenham Hotspur is the other match in the EFL Cup taking place tomorrow.

For reality; i think the media has been the saving grace for Arteta; in normal conditions; he is in a sackable situation and yet he gets praised time and time again by pundits and news outlets as a modern manager lol. Pep has shown time and time again that he does not joke with trophies, either important or not. It would be interesting to see an all manchester carabao cup final if Man Utd wins tomorrow.

Even though Manchester United will sure be playing tonight with a rotated team; i feel they should be able to get victory away at Everton; with a midfield of Fred, Pogba and VDBeek; a comprehensive Everton 1 - 3 Manchester United win is achievable.  For spurs, it remained to be see if Mourinho will free up his lads to attack championship side stoke city in the other round. A good victory for Tottenham is achievable.

I also think Manchester United should win their match against Everton even with both teams fielding weakened sides but it is a knock out competition and anything can happen.

Stoke against Tottenham will be an interesting game to watch because Tottenham have lost their previous two premier league matches and need a boost but will Mourinho field a strong team? Spurs need a win to bring back some confidence ahead of their next premier league match on Sunday 27th December against Wolves.

Manchester United have a game in hand in the premier league and if they win that game they and Liverpool will both have played 14 games and they will be just 2 points behind and with over 1/3 of the season already gone I cannot say it is a foregone conclusion that Liverpool will win the league. They are favourites yes but Manchester City have not hit their stride yet either.

The FA Cup and Carabao Cup are both good ways of any team that needs silverware to get hold of some but the premier league is definitely not over yet.

really the poor performance of the arsenal can no longer pretend that things can improve over time because this season even some teams that last season were struggling to survive in the premier league this season are stronger than the arsenal. I'm talking about Aston Villa, which is performing better than the arsenal. The arsenal is in decline to the point of not being able to win several games that apparently would be considered easy to win. I already lost money because of that bad moment in the arsenal.

Really not looking good for Arsenal while Arteta is in charge, he needs to be replaced as soon as possible so the new manager can try to save them from being relegated and then start working towards buying new players and building the team around his own ideas for next season.

At the end of last season people were going crazy for both Arteta and Aubameyang because Arsenal won the FA Cup but in the end Arteta lost the plot and Aubameyang was playing on top of his game because he wanted to get a new deal which he signed for a massive increase in salary but the goals dried up.

Arsenal are just 4 points above the relegation zone and they play Chelsea tomorrow, it is a game I expect Chelsea to win. Arteta should resign or be sacked.

Just looking at your post raises questions about why you think Sheffield United will beat Everton when they have not won a single game all season. It would be interesting to watch Arsenal beat Chelsea 3-0 because it would give Arteta time to hang on to his job but within the next two days Arsenal could fall to just one place above the relegation zone if they lose to Chelsea and if both Brighton and Burnley win their games.

That's a difficult and interesting match for man united if they win they will get close to the first position with a match less than the leaders liverpool and with no significant players absence plus they didnt lose against leicester in a long time. i think wan bisaka will play this match he wil  be a big help for the defence with his good performance this season.

Leicester have lost the last two games, today they will play with full dedication, I think it will be very difficult for Manchester to win today. But if Manchester United win today, they can come close to Liverpool. Although I think that Leicester will not lose, because then they will lose not three, but six points at once, since Manchester will overtake Leicester in the standings.

A good game to watch, Leicester City played very well to contain and attack Manchester United. I like the way Leicester started the second half with the intention of attacking. Manchester United missed the opportunity to go second in the EPL so they move to 4 points behind Liverpool. Leicester stay second having played one game more and are 3 games behind Liverpool.
