Chelsea with a first win under their new manager. Leeds with a great win at Leicester. West Ham fail to stop a revival by Liverpool. Brighton dent hopes Tottenham had to keeping up with the teams above them.

Liverpool won that match far more comfortably than a revitalised West Ham United team should have let them. West Ham should have been stronger.

Full credit to Liverpool for taking their chances and rising to 3rd in the EPL table. West Ham are still having a great season and are sitting in 5th position in the EPL table.

Liverpool are the current champions and they are firmly in the hunt behind Manchester City and Manchester United.

West Ham fail to stop a revival by Liverpool.

Indeed, A big win for Liverpool and directly go to the third in the Premier League table. Salah back where he belongs, an exceptional performance from him.

Sheffield United continue to impress with a win against fellow struggling team West Brom as they come from a goal down to win 2-1.

Arsenal were winning 0-1 then Luiz gets a red card, then Leno gets a red card and before you know it Wolves win the match 2-1. Well done Wolves, back to the same -old for Arsenal.

Manchester United score a massive 9 goals past Southampton but in fairness to them they had to field a young team because of injury issues. Going down to 10 men after their young player got sent off after 2 minutes was just a disaster for them. Towards the end a second Southampton player got sent off and they played with just 9 men too. Manchester United had 7 different scorers (Martial scored twice and there was an own goal by Southampton too).

Crystal Palace scored an important win against Newcastle United after being down 1-0 after 2 minutes they eventually won 1-2. All the goals were scored in the first half. Newcastle United are now 8 points and just places above the relegation zone while Crystal Palace are 7 points above them.

This is just a good play by Manchester United, let us hope they keep going like this. They really well prepared against Southampton and the match was good. They have the same point with Man City now but the advantage that Man City got is that they still have two awaiting matches.  But, I hope the strong teams have began to surprise us with good winings.

Nobody is proud of this scoreline I think ref Mike was the man of the match I've never seen an awful officiating from the 97 secs of the game till the end, he made a lot of bad decisions, he goes into every match with the mindset of spoiling every danm game; if there is no red card there must be a penalty. The Southampton were without 6 first team players and all he could do was to give two unworthy red cards? @igehhh I love Manchester United but even then I’ll say that I’m not happy with this result due to the referee mistake, and had those red cards and penalty not been given then this match would have had a very different scoreline.

Furthermore the disallowed goal of Southampton clearly shows how weak Manchester United’s defence is, and this is a worrying sign for the club as they’re yet in the title race.

I think Man City will secure 3 points against Burnley in the next match. They have no problems with Burnley and all players of Man City now have good motivation to win every single match. Manchester City should have little or no problems whatsoever putting Burnley away, they are used to defeating the clarets with over five goals, and today's game may prolly not end with that scoreline, but a win for pep and his boys is certain imo, and that will take them three points ahead of Manchester United, in addition to a game in hand, City still clearly have the advantage.

Having said that, the more important game is against Liverpool at the weekend, nobody remembers the last time City won at Anfield, though this time around, my heart tells me it's about to change, the game will be decided by the smallest of margins, City looks like the team that will get the edge at the end, I predict something of a tight 2:1 victory in favor of Manchester City, to end their winless run at the home of Liverpool.

Did Southampton get a team of high schoolboys to play against Manchester United? It was incredible the low team's performance.

No, they were unlucky. They had a player sent off in the second minute, so had to play until 86 minutes with 10 men, at which point they were 6-0 down. Then they had another player sent off and went down to 9 men, and conceded a further 3 goals in the final few minutes. Also relevant is that Southampton are in the midst of a huge injury crisis.

Of course Man U are the better team and likely would have won even against 11 men with no Southampton injuries. But there is a lot more to this scoreline than the result, a lot of extenuating factors.

The big question now I suppose is how Southampton respond in their next match. Losing 9-0, however it happened, is not going to be great for morale.

Manchester City could go 6 points clear at the top of the EPL table ahead of second placed Manchester United if they win their 2 games in hand. They are in the driving seat to become champions but Liverpool are in 3rd place trying to catch up and playing well.

I think Southampton were going to beaten badly anyway yesterday because they fielded a team full of youth team players because of illness and injury to their senior squad. The inexperience showed a lot and they were fortunate to lose just 9-0 when it easily could have been 12-0 or 13-0

I hope the Southampton team stay in high spirits and use this as a learning process because they have come a long way this season and deserve a top 7/8 finish.

When ever Liverpool won ''oh that's tactical game from klopp and the lads" but whenever they lost "hey forget Liverpool is facing an injury crisis like wtf? Every team is facing injury crises too, Southampton played without 6 first team players and lost 9-0 but nobody complained, City lost almost all their players to injury and found themselves struggling nobody complained. Liverpool should take responsibility and stop being a crying baby
