Invalid shares policy In CryptoNight currencies calculating and verifying hashes takes a lot of computational power. So, checking all shares sent by users will require pool to have dozens of servers. To avoid these expenses all CryptoNight pools only check a certain percentage of shares and simply trust the rest.
This leaves a window for cheating. User can intentionally submit shares that do not solve the job given to them. Such shares are discovered if checked by pool and called ‘Invalid Shares’.
Opensource pools by default ban users if the percentage of invalid shares is bigger than 25%. However, Minergate is not going to allow hackers to cheat the pool and its users. Thus, we decided to implement the following policy:
• For sending invalid share user gets penalty and his unconfirmed balance decreases. • Sending multiple invalid shares will lead to negative unconfirmed balance. • This will prevent cheaters from having funds in confirmed balance
Please note, that even if you are legit miner, you might sometimes, extremely rarely, submit an invalid share. Most likely you won’t, but it could happen. That is most often caused by some bugs in mining apps. The penalty for this share will be very small compared to your earnings, so you can safely ignore it.

Guys, how is that web mining page supposed to work? If you click "START" on any of the coins, it turns green but hashrate stays at zero...

Actually we are not planning to implement GPU in Admin edition since the idea is that users whose miners mine in backround mode should not feel it. However, if there is GPU mining, they will be annoyed because it will cause slow down of their computers

What exactly is hashing? Can your computer be hashing without having a local mining client?

I receive nearly 2% invalid shares on Minergate (json 2.0 blah blah error). Oddly, on another site, I can't recall seeing them. Is it possible that it is a ping/distance issue from your server? I'm using claymore's gpu miner
Thanks

Any answer to that, dear Minergate team?
Web-mining is a some kind of Java-script. It calculates shares till window is open and script is running. Your browser should allow execution of java-scripts. Hope that helps.
