Yeah but, both names and branding are still fine and it still directs the country of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia that manages it. Well, it's known now for having such high prizes for all of the esports involved there and that's why there are a lot of big tournaments now not just for Dota 2, CS2, LOL and other esports. This will give more hope to the aspiring professional players that are really good in playing.

The LCK derby yesterday between Gen.G and T1 was so good. Even though Gen.G came out on top, T1 was very close to completing that upset if only they snowballed a bit further and secured that second drake in the final map.



I'm looking forward to the lower final tomorrow since AL and T1 are the only teams that got close to pushing Gen.G, and even then, they had to fight tooth and nail for each map win.

Yes, all games on the group stage are best of 2 series only. But after that, they'd go to elimination phase and that's when the best of 3 will start.
This is the update now for the second day of the Esports World Cup or known in the past as Riyadh Masters. Virtus.Pro is in trouble and likely they'll be part of the two teams to get eliminated at the end of this phase. While for Team Liquid, they've beaten Parivision twice again, since Fissure Universe, Parivision never won against them.

I honestly don't mind the bo2 format in the group stage because there are only three series played per team, and it's a nice change of pace similar to TI's format, where the unlucky teams that got drawn in the stronger groups have another chance to prove themselves.

Despite no one going home after the group stage, there's still an incentive for teams to use their strats when the first seed immediately goes through the playoff and skips the elimination phase.

T1 on the other hand, learned their lesson from the Gen.G series by picking Jinx for Gumayusi, and they didn't even break a sweat.

Their experiment with s1mple backfired so he will not be returning when tier 1 competition returns once the summer break is done.

They probably don't want to break the bank for s1mple, and I heard his contract with NaVi is about to expire later this year.

Let's see if T1 will pull another miracle and a roller coaster fight with Gen.G, their upper bracket fight is pretty close IMO, GEN.G get those comfort picks of T1 which are Renekton and Jinx in game 5. Also, Sylas is veryuseless in that game 5 tho so it's possible for T1 to win the finals if they can pull a good draft. They've beaten HLE in the finals that is unbeatable to them in SPLIT 2 LCK so there's a chance for GEN.G to be defeated!

It's rare to see Jinx picked early in the series, but it could be worth a sacrifice if T1 goes on to have a lead in this series and burn the champ in a losing game. Even then, Gen.G still has a lot of options for Ruler because there's also Caitlyn and Ziggs where T1 had to respect ban in the previous series.

T1 outperformed everyone expections internationally, as usual, but just couldnt beat geng this time. Maybe in ewc ?

If MSI was just a trial run for these teams and it being just fun, then this next tournament will be more serious for each and every team involved.
Since there are high stakes and alot of money in the prize pool put up for runners-ups and the champions.

The improvement from T1 was like straight out of a movie, starting from the Road to MSI(qualifier) and then the bracket stage to deliver banger after banger series.

After seeing the format of EWC, they could beat Gen.G or maybe HLE could do it for them if they're placed on the same side of the bracket.

Expected T1 to win that one against GenG. So will this affect their confidence going into this EWC tournament which has gone live?

Hopefully those losses motivates them even further as they're very close to snapping Gen.G's 20+ series win streak. Their last two meeting came down to whoever cooks up a more well rounded draft and T1 still has a wide enough champ pool to pull that off.

That series had everything, including the record-breaking viewership. It does feel like a golden era for League fans, especially with the storylines so tightly wound. Both teams keep pushing each other to new mental levels. Chovy finally shook off the finals choker thing by reframing the pressure (just playing for fun, which is god-tier at that level), and you could see the Gen.G coaching staff taking real risks with the draft. Those are not safe calls in a Game 5.

On the T1 side, you have to respect how even after all these heartbreaks, they are never really out of it. Every time they lose, they are back in the lab. And with MSI giving a Worlds ticket now, Gen.G has all the breathing room, but T1's path just got way harder. So, Ruler's MSI -> T1's Worlds, then Chovy's MSI -> T1's Worlds? Maybe! But it's never that simple, and that is why we keep watching. These two keep finding new ways to surprise us. EWC, LCK, Worlds… next few months are fun and I am here for it.

These 2 days of break might have turn things around for some teams at EWC and I think the one who will be affected the most will be Team Spirit who I personally I think won't even catch top 6.

Tundra , Liquid and PariVision are all better teams right now than Spirit and even Aurora in a great day can beat them and they proved it before. Spirit hype is a bit overrated this time and even the bookies won't back them being the favorites.

As for some CounterStrike tournament play we had Fissure Playground from July 15-20th in Serbia just began.
Surprisingly we had some Portuguese teams winning their matches yesterday with SAW, FURIA and paiN all looking good on the first day of this new installment of the CS2 circuit.
They all face tougher opposition in Lynn Vision and GamerLegion today with FURIA playing the winner tomorrow when the quarter-finals begin.
