Many of you guys are sounding like City is the only club were new signings fail, for real. This happens in every club, it happens in big clubs,  new players come in and they just struggle to find their feet from start to finish. But when it happens in another team, the player was not good enough. But if it is City, the narrative changes and all fingers are directed at the genius Pep.

It's different, there isn't any other club in the world where player can be in the form of his life and then end on the bench 5 games in a row since Pep wanted something different tactically. I can get you hundreds of examples. Remember that rabona from Cherki that ended in Foden's goal few GW back? Remember what Pep had to say about that? It was something on the line beautiful goal but if it didn't work we would have had a problem. Why bring so creative players like Cherki and then do your best to reign them in? I want to watch players like Cherki play without any constraints and that will not happen at City under Pep.

It is just who Pep is. One of the best managers in the world, hands down. But you are playing 100% what he asks of you or you are not playing. That has a way of killing careers of players that are more individual brilliance than team contributors.

Worst possible start to the gameweek for me, all three City assets in my team could only earn me a cumulative of 7 points, with one of them, Haaland, being my captain, terrible. I talked about Cherki all week and still didn't get him, now he pops up with a goal and an assist today, fuck me.

*Foden couple of seasons ago (probably the one before last) - started the season with incredible numbers, form like these last few weeks, I think he played like like first 8 games full minutes and then got benched in consequent 5 games or something. This is actually the one I can't wrap my mind about and the one I will remember for ever. Others could be explained with rotation and tactical changes. I still believe something must have happened there since it was too much even for Pep
*When Ake was by far the best defender in the team and couldn't get 3 games in a row, then Stones, then Akanji. Not to mention shifting them to mid, inverting and what not
*Almost any winger that ever played for City, had great spells on the team, just to get thrown on the bench for a few games and lose confidence

It is always the same with Pep, he looks for new solutions even when they aren't needed. It is a part of what makes him great manager but also a thing that costed him some CL titles Not to mention players that realized that and left the club like Alvarez, Palmer.... Yeah, they would have won more titles if they stayed, but they would have never got 90 mins game in City.

That being said, Pep this season has changed a lot, don't know what happened but this season City line up is one of the easiest to get.

Why does it bother you when we discuss City/Pep? At least for my part, I like both, just commenting on aspect of the City/Pep system that isn't suited to make stars of players (unless your name is Haaland/Messi). Speculative my friend, you are just making guesses. Julian Alvarez was always understudy to Erling Haaland and the season he was in the form of his life was when KDB had a serious injury and was out, Alvarez played most of the games in that period. And as for Doku, there was never such a time.

He ended up winning the premier league player of the season and the PFA players' player of the season, what you are saying never happened in that season. The following season, 2024/2025, was when it actually happened, which was last season. Foden came into the season with an injury and struggled for form. Completely speculative like i expected. When was Ake ever by far the best defender in City, yeah he was great at some point and the fact he missed a couple of games does not support your point. And Akanji, lol, you talk about him like he was anything before he came to City, probably fourth choice defender at Dortmund. Players lose form and get dropped, it happened to Sterling at City. There was no player in the form of his life, banging in goals and assists and then gets benched for 5 or more games.

Pep makes one too many tactical changes sometimes and it has cost him, for example benching Rodri in the champions league final against Chelsea, but that's just one game. Played first 11 games, solid minutes. Scored and assisted a lot and looked by far best player on the pitch. Got dropped for no reason except because Pep wanted it, lost confidence and season.

Since I brought Van Dijk in several weeks ago, they've not kept more than 1 or 2 clean sheets and it's really worrying because I expected not less than 4 in those games, I'm glad Gabriel is back for Arsenal btw, VVD days in my team is numbered he serves no purpose if the primary objective of having him is hoping for a Liverpool clean sheet.

Last GW was my best time to have utilized my TC but, I entirely forgot about the FPL although, the GW turned out great and as such, I decided to utilize my TC chip in this GW rather than have it waste away but then, Haaland comes off blank. Not a goal or an assist and a wasted bench boost. Another season, another wasted chip.

Had Thiago for several GWs and he didn’t earn me any good points, got him off my team for the first time and he gets over 17 points. The FPL could be that tricky!

I read it is just as a precautionary action to manage his workload. We have to play stubborn Aston Villa next; Arteta likely wants him sharp. Gabriel returns; our set piece threat is restored!

Calafiori's own seems to be a bigger concern.

I wouldn’t be on the page of saying that he kills players when they are on form but Mate I will actually join in with other managers to tell you that I have caught Pep actually droping players to bench when there on top form, in fact if you’re more among FPL managers discussion forums you would actually have heard people running away from most Pep players simply because they get dropped easily, I personally have seen Kelvin De Bruyne dropped to the bench for a game in which base on form he should start.

I will also say Pep himself is seriously aware that he makes this decisions too much, the year he won the champions league which he did winning against Inter Milan I could remember in knockout stages most especially the two legs against Real Madrid he didn’t make changes and he said it was because of his tactical twerks he sometimes lost the competition and he ended up going on to win, so it’s not just one game, it was a thing then for Pep to twerk his team. Only Halaand and BalonD’or Rodri have been a mainstay

40 points the whole season from G/As, yeah, or 10GAs from 24 appearances. Don't get me wrong I love him and Gravenbersch but they're simply not FPL friendly.

There was no reason to have those two players in your squad in the first place, when there are/were better options from those teams to select.

Hincapie was a 3-game punt and Richards is a great budget pick.

If Hincapie wasn't a doubt, I'd now have Keane instead of Senesi and not useless VVD instead of Hincapie.
Can't complain much about luckin this round though, considering that Dubravka brought me a huge and fully unexpected 11 points.

CLS63 seems does have a habit of selecting a player at the right time. Though it might be too early to state definitively, he certainly has a chance to win by finishing in first place. I keep missing transfer deadlines whereas many do not therefore they are accumulating points and I am falling further behind. It is sill exciting but just as frustrating too.

Looking at our league table, with my poor performance of 42 points I still somehow managed to get a little bit closer to the magic 7th position. I guess everyone had it much worse than me, but for the new round I have 3 players who will surely not play and only 1 transfer to make.

I wasnt anything better,just hitted the avg of 44 points in this round,just cannot get 20-30 points over and its really insane,i keep switching and switching but just dosent help. I had 3 tottenham defence players in last 10 rounds,benched them all and all got a clean sheet and thats just insane.

Those players were killing me and now they dominated when i benched and sold them all. I used my transfer now to bring dorgu but still something will happen that i dont get a clean sheet from Man Utd players surely as always

That's why you can go -4. I decided to go crazy this week and took -8 and I had all the players without injury bar Timber. Just decided it is time to attack some fixtures so we shall see how it will work out in the long run. In short run, I know I will have -20 swing in this round almost certainly
