Hey everyone! Thank you to all who've paid. Just busy finalising sponsor, and tweaking the odds-based event form with the expert hand of joker_josue. I'll try and give a quick response to some qs:

@notblox1 deadline, preferably, is 18 September, a week from now. However, I've already been asked if late payment is possible, and I'm going to say yes, on case by case. We don't want a situation where people "test" their performance and decide not to pay when they don't do well. Generally, if you've got an account in good standing, I'll accept late payment. Let's say no later than 2 October (Matchday 2). Anyone who commits but doesn't pay will take a hit to their reputation. =D

@slaman29 Last season we had 34 participants. ATM, we have 25 confirmed participants and 2 tentative. Feel free to spread the word!

@1miau For now, it doesn't look like we'll get yellow cap bonuses, but there will be other promotions, hopefully. Will be sure to update the details of that.

In my pools I prefer to give out loans rather than allow for late payment. That way escrow address is always up to date and people will think twice before defaulting loan with reputable member. On the other hand deciding to not play can be justified in many ways and is difficult to red tag those persons while I would have no problem red tagging somebody who defaulted on loan.

If you decide to go that way I can probably help with few members if necessary.

The Champions League is being played in this format for the last time. And I think that everyone who is interested in football should join this pool. I will inform people on my local board as well tomorrow. I hope that we can see new faces among us.

I agree with Trofo about this topic absolutely. I made a mistake in the F1 pool unfortunately and I'm still blaming myself because of this.

How come I didn't have an idea about the F1 pool? The BSFL league has transformed the way I look at numerous sports, including Dota games. I would have sworn on my grandmother's boyfriend's brother's grave that I would never check or care about F1 or Dota games in my life, but now I do all thanks to the BSFL league. Being a one-sport person is tedious during the off season, but being a multi-sport person provides an advantage. Last season, I made x5 of what I paid to join three pools, ignoring freebet earnings.

There can't be too many football pools, it only can be not enough money for it . Finally paid sign up fee and waiting for thes new season.

I wonder if Superbru recognizes any of our BTT pools, I think over last years, we must have at least I would say $100k in total played!

I doubt thatthey recognize it. First of all, not all our pools have word Bitcointalk in their name, usually there is just sponsors name. And they can't know how much money there was in prize pots as these things happens outside Superbru.

As you can see outsiders Milan and Dortmund with equal chances, and Newcastle is not much different from PSG.

For me it looks a bit strange, Milan and Dortmund is understimated too much IMO. Newcastle is a great team, but they don't have experience in such kind of game, while Dortmund and Milan is playing there almostevery season.

I'm especially looking forward how Union Berlin will perform, it's a very tough group, where Real Madrid and SSC Napoli are likely to advance, don't know how to judge Braga.

In F1, we predict podium results and first 10 finishers (Top 10)
Qualifying (who will start first) and fastest lap will also add 1 point if predicted correctly.
Details are still a bit more nuanced (like exact position bonus, podium bonus or early prediction bonus) but it's easy to understand when you see it on Superbru.

About the odds based event: what about add at least for some games the european handicap option, therefore making the odds more appealing and both the underdog and the obvious favorite picks worth taking?
Sportsbet.io enforces minimum of 1.5x for their promotions anyway.

Many of us watch CL for the big teams, but their odds might be too low to be a worth pick in most cases, without the handicap.

I was asking for over/unders and handicap also but I think the point now is to just try this experiment with the type of bets everybody gets which is 1x2.

I think it doesn't matter about appealing odds or not, underdog and favorite, if you don't feel are worth taking, don't take it. You have 10 points to stake and try to get the biggest points, I think the challenge will force people to go big on underdogs, which I guess is the whole point

I'm definitely not putting points on big favorite, then again, if you put 10 points on 1.2, it's a "guarantee" of 12.

Sending my payment this weekend if I win some football and UFC bets.  Kidding...  Not gonna make any bets this coming weekend after a disaster of an event after Strickland winning as a 5 to 1 underdog.  Lol.  I had Adesanya on all my parlays as he was what degenerates call 'a lock'.    Mother fker.

So who is the sponsor,I would love a big one in such pool,the most difficult one in my personal opinion compared to F1 and Premier League and all other major leagues like Spanish La Liga,Bundesliga and Serie A,this pool I mean it is freakin difficult to win something,I barely made it to 10 place last year but lost it in the final game,that Manchester City vs Inter,hopefully the prize structure will be bigger and better this time as my pre condition to come in and play,not losing time with the same structure as last year,we need more paying spots,at least 3-5 more paying spots.

Summary of this season's new points:
- 70/30 prize split. 70% to Superbru classic pool, as that's the most popular, 30% to the odds-based event, which is experimental. Use this week to read the rules and test out the new system!
- 20 prize spots, not 10 -- but you can win in both events.
- stablecoin, but BTC payout, end of season. This preserves the dollar value, per request of sponsor.

I would love to stay on Superbru 100% as we have always used that format here and in many other pools,except the Euro or World Cups where we have used the UEFA/FIFA one time and then used UEFA/FIFA as a side bet,so you can put that with the odds as an additional prize to play for but not split the prizes,you can give that like 1000 dollars as prize as the guy who makes the most correct predictions wins that side quest prize.

I think this should be much more fair than using a dual system for the main purpose of this pool.Waiting to see how will be the final decision before sending in the fee in the next few days.

First time seeing this pool and just trying to get clarity before joining...

So to get started, I see we have 2 pools going on here

• a. Prize Pot A: Classic score-based prediction on Superbru
  
• b. Prize Pot B: Odds-based prediction on Google forms

Playing for Prize Pot A is easy to understand, but for the Prize Pot B, is this going to be played on Rollbit site as I saw this writing " paid Bitcointalk participants of this pool will gain exclusive access to Rollbit's UCL sportsbook specials " So are we required to place bets here [Rollbit website]or everything will be done on the special spreadsheet   Hope am not asking questions that have already been answered..
