Well i was pretty surprised that they invested the amount of money they did in this January transfer window without actually buying an orthodox striker, i really can't understand why they were buying the players they did buy without solving one of their most pressing problem, it just doesn't make sense; Todd Boehly just went on a buying spree without considering what's best for the club.

Having said that, Dortmund have a real advantage heading into the second leg, and with how poor Chelsea are playing i don't think they have any chance of coming back into this game. I would reiterate that i don't think Graham Potter can lead Chelsea to trophies, sooner or later he is going to be fired, the club can't spend the amount of money they are doing and continually fail to win football matches, it is totally unacceptable.

It looks like the last 16 will be the end of Club Brugge's journey in the Champions League this season. Benfica managed to beat them 2-0 and it looks like Club Brugge can't do much in this game. If you look at the match statistics, Club Brugge only managed to create 4 attempted kicks and only 1 was successful on target, that's not a good statistic at all when compared to the visitors who managed to create 14 attempts and 4 of them were towards goal and 2 managed to be goals for Benfica's victory.

The result is predictable before that Benfica as favourite status in this match and most of people predict they will going to win the match and 2-0 is valuable winning because Benfica did that at Club Brugge home and for second leg Benfica will playing as a host this will be more easy for them because during group stage Benfica has been showing their strength with became an unbeatable at their home even Juventus and PSG cannot win against them and for Club Brugge chasing 3 goals at Benfica home ground seems just like mission impossible and i do agree with you that their journey will be ended here

Benfica has taken a very big step with this 0-2 victory at Bruges. Clearly the game with the weakest teams in this tournament. A great result for Benfica. There is still everything to play for at Chelsea - Dortmund, as a 1-0 win by Dortmund is absolutely no guarantee of progressing to the next round. Bayern Munich also seems to be doing very good business, but we must not forget that Mbappe was not in top shape and he will be in 2 weeks when the teams have to play against each other again. Bayern Munich also has no guarantee yet, a player like Mbappe can easily make the difference.

Chelsea was playing so garbage against dortmund. Attacking line always becomes the main problem. I saw that if chelsea was not able using some golden chances. The goal that was already made by dortmund won't be happened once enzo was doing nice tacking to take the ball from dortmund's player. The result from the last match of chelsea against dortmund is very disappointed. Chelsea was even making zero goal again. So many times the golden opportunities were just missing by chelsea.

Kai Havertz is just too poor in that role. I admit they were unlucky at some points in the game but they haven't really improved as a team. It's a shame Enzo Fernandez couldn't match Adeyemi's pace for the goal. All he had to do was not lose his man but then he was outclassed there. It will be a difficult job coming back from this loss to advance and they have their job cut out for them. In general, game well played, everyone played well. From Hakim to Kepa all showed quality. They deserved a win but this is football and sometimes luck is required.

This is too simple of an analysis. When you see that goal in replay, you can see that Adeyemi's timing for acceleration was just perfect. I don't now whether it was on purpose, but this tenth of a second when Fernandez made another step and could not accelerate in the same moment was perfect timing by Adeyemi. You don't even have to be the faster player, but when you anticipate an opponent's action the wrong way, you can still be left behind and that was the case here I think. Regarding the chances, Chelsea did have enough of them to decide the game early on. Felix also had a big one and he failed. That's something a coach can't really do much about.

It is not kind of money waste from Chelsea. They did bought good players even at expensive and overpriced costs but those players are good in quality. However, they are human and need time to play good in a new club. From January transfer market to middle of February, there is not much time for them in Chelsea.

Dortmund has advantage after a win at home but it is a very minimal win for them. In the match, Chelsea actually played good enough and Dortmund scored the only goal in the match shortly after a very dangerous opportunity of Chelsea. They made a counter attack and scored a magnificent goal within a minute. It is a cornerstone for Dortmund to aim at a final aggregated win against Chelsea.

However, Chelsea will have a second leg match at Stamford Bridge and if they can create pressure on Dortmund like in the first leg match, I am not sure that Dortmund will be able to avoid a loss or big loss in Stamford Bridge.

I agree that maybe it was luck that Borussia Dortmund was able to finish the match winning. Chelsea are not without opportunities, they actually get more opportunities than Borussia Dortmund, it's just that they fail to convert opportunities into goals. It was a miserable match for Chelsea yesterday, Chelsea were unable to capitalize on many chances. Chelsea had 8 of 21 short on target. But could not block any short net.  On the other hand, tomorrow's match was very important for Borussia Dortmund. Borussia Dortmund won 2-0 against Arsenal in the UEFA Champions League in September 2014 but since then Chelsea have played a total of 9 matches without a win (D1, L8). Yesterday's match was expected by many to be a convincing victory for Chelsea but Borussia Dortmund came on in the 63rd minute with K. Adeyemi scoring the winning goal which Chelsea were later unable to repay.

Two teams from the bundesliga league won the match in the first leg of which Dortmund beat Chelsea and Bayern munich beat psg in the first leg match. On the Chelsea side, where their squad is filled with quality players, they are unable to do much at the Signal iduna park stadium, they have to admit that Dortmund are better than them, even though in possession Chelsea dominated it more, but Dortmund defense was very strong in that match. Apart from that, Bayern Munich, who visited PSG headquarters, was able to steal full points in that match.

I believe the teams from the bundesliga are stronger in the champions league even though there are not very popular players in their team but they are able to beat a team that was built with the power of money

In the other game easy win for Borussia as expected.

City will play their match only in a week.
As for the game Dortmund - Chelsea, it was not easy (look at the number of yellow cards in the game) and the result could swing in any direction.

When your team performs better than the opposing team, yet still loses, it's really sad. What you're feeling is natural and understandable disappointment. As expected, Chelsea put on a fantastic show, particularly in the first half. Regrettably, they were unable to generate any scoring opportunities in the second half. It appears as though Chelsea's lack of goal-scoring ability is becoming a serious problem for the club. There is cause for concern, as the numbers suggest that Chelsea has also been struggling to score in league play. The second leg will be played at Stamford Bridge, where I think the squad has a chance to recover. They need to increase their goal-scoring and chance-making prowess on the pitch. I have faith that they can raise their game and avoid getting knocked out of the league this time around. Let's hold out hope for the best and keep cheering for our squad.

Dortmund didn't was much better form Chelsea, I expected more interesting game from both teams, but it didn't happen. Chelsea are in big trouble scoring even one goal, if Potter doesn't fix that, then the match at Stamford Bridge will be no different from the first match. But Chelsea still have a good chance in the Champions League, they have a good team, they just need to start scoring goals.

Honestly Chelsea really impressed me with their performance last night they are just unlucky to score goals, though both team played a fast and pacy thrilling match, Dortmund utilized their chances once and scored a brilliant goal by the solo effort of Adeyemi though Chelsea dominated played 21 shots on goal and 8 on target with Joao Felix hittting wood work unfortunately couldn't register a goal this sum up a brilliant performance by my standard, truly Chelsea final third had been a big issue now inability to score goals is source of consign which Graham Potter needed to address as soon as possible.

I have predicted this since benfica was getting brugge as an opponent. Brugge is nothing for benfica. You shall believe if benfica will able to destroy brugge in the second leg again. The game between benfica against brugge is not so interesting for me caused by it's very easy to predict which team that will be winning the match. The statistic for brugge is not so good. The match between chelsea against dortmund was more interesting for me caused by it's a bit hard to predict which club that may be able to win the game.
Benfica was dominating the match. Benfica might be only making 4 shots on target but two shots have converted into goals.

How disappointed I am that Chelsea lost to Borussia Dortmund despite outperforming them overall. The game appeared one-sided in the first half, with the home team having the majority of the good play, but in the second half, I would say Chelsea really improved but could not create any chances on goal. They don't appear to be fully committed to this season's Champions League. I hope they perform better in their second leg at Stamford Bridge to avoid being eliminated from the league in this round.

Chelsea were pretty good on the stats in that match, but sadly none of their strikers could turn every chance into a goal. I don't think that Chelsea think this game is not important but more because they are not capable enough to be a team that can score goals and this has been seen in the league games they played they only scored 23 goals from 22 games meaning they only have an average goal 1,+ but against Dortmund in the champions league if there is no improvement then don't expect more that Chelsea can score goals.

Chelsea suffering has not ended even though there have been several players with fantastic prices, Chelsea are still having trouble winning under Potter. The defeat from Dortmund made Chelsea add to a number of bad results, in 14 matches in all competitions, Chelsea won only two wins.

Yesterday Chelsea got a ball off the post in the first half. If that position had been a goal, the story of the match would have been very different. Dortmund scored 1 goal and won the match. It's unfair to have this kind of opinion about Club Brugge because basically they have done better than Leverkusen and Atletico Madrid. Even though they are no better than Benfica, Club Brugge's achievements in the Champions League this season deserve appreciation.

About Chelsea, I think it was an unexpected defeat. I know they haven't been really good this season, especially in the Premier League. But after all they expected to do better in the Champions League, but in the end Chelsea also had to lose to Dortmund. But anyway, I think there is still a chance to win tickets to the quarter-finals if Chelsea win on aggregate in the second leg later. Currently, two Bundesliga teams have only won 1 goal over their opponents, Bayern Munich and Dortmund. So it will definitely be very exciting to look forward to the second leg.

Disappointingly Chelsea lost despite their efforts in the first and second half of the game. They created chances and had some fair shots on target, but I am going to give it Dortmund the goal in the 62 minutes was unexpected and one of the best in the tournament that I have seen so far. It was a difficulty run but a great goal one that we would remember for a long time.
We are sure to seem more goals like this due to Chelsea's poor defence if the lapses are not fixed ASAP.

I agree with you, that Club Brugge's achievements in the UCL this season are indeed very great, although later if they can't beat Benfica's aggregate points, at least Club Brugge has tried their best. What happened to Chelsea Football Club last night could happen to any other club who is not prepared to play the Champions League. Chelsea doesn't have a formidable squad that will lead them to the Champions League they are just floating and they're buying new players anyhow.
The coach has not figured out how to use this players. I am of the opinion that Chelsea will start doing well from next season but for this season they have lost out in everything and even entering the Premier League top four is an impossible task for Chelsea Football Club. It is not the fault of the coach nor that of the players. They need time to synergize and get good results
