I don't believe Nunez can be seen as Mane's replacement. Because one of them is a striker while the other one is a winger naturally. Yes maybe Mane can play as a striker if needed as well but he doesn't make the same level of contribution to his team then. He is more beneficial when he plays as a connector between the midfield and attacking line. Thanks to his playing style Liverpool were able to break the deadlocks of many matches for example. Now his absence is felt very much.

Darwin Nunez is a great player, his pace and ability to score good goals is brilliant but still cannot be compared to Sadio Mane. Liverpool needs to change their coach, Klopp needs to go, he has achieved so much for the club fine but the truth is that he can't fix up the club anymore. I've been searching for a statement from them since Man City allegedly violated some UEFA rules too. This case is probably related to the reason why UEFA handed down a two-year ban on European competition to City but that was overturned by the Court of Arbitration for Sport back in 2020. That means they've been cleared and won't be disqualified from Champions League.

I suppose by now nobody really understands what is going on anymore. There should be a much more universally applicable rule. National associations have their rules, then there is UEFA and then there is also FIFA and some other international court involved and so on and so forth. What did they find now that they couldn't prove last time when they turned the judgment over? It is permanently this back and forth with all these threats and no action being taken.

I see your point. They may agree on some policies on punishments but these are still organizations independent of each other. It seems the case stemmed from the same allegation back in 2018. Both organization launched their own investigation. UEFA wrapped up and handed out the fine and ban in 2020. Premier league just took a longer time. Their findings is probably more conclusive and airtight.

Ok I am not fully into the case and know the finest details, but when this stems from 2018 I ask myself what the heck happened over all those years when you take into account that one judgment was already revoked? That doesn't make a lot of sense. Not only for the club, but also not for the fans. When I were a fan of Manchester City and I read that they have been acquitted on all accounts, how does it make sense then that the same case could lead to an exclusion 5 years or so later again?

I am for fairness to its fullest and we need some sanctions or otherwise the normal soccer club won't exist anymore at some point. At the same time it should be applied to all clubs equally. Or maybe the punishment should work such that the rich clubs violating the rules must pay a fine to the poorer clubs. That way we also get one step closer to equality.
