The most challenging task for big teams in any big tournament is going through a group with ticket to a first knock out phase. It's not matter that you play good, impressive or bad in group phase, if you can go to a first knock out phase, you have 50/50 chance to beat your opponent and move next. Since knock out phase, big team that are most united, disciplined and ambitious will be able to beat even stronger team.

When I see our group with Portugal an Czechia, our Euro 2008 journey comes to my mind.    Back then, these two were in our group and the only difference was the remaining team.

We managed to beat Czechia with a dream comeback and qualified from the group thanks to that. The Czechia match is the last one once again so I wonder if a similar scenario will happen again...    It was many years ago of course. But I still believe in our players to do their best for a qualification. By the way those times we even reached the semi finals but I'm not that hopeful in Euro 2024 to tell the truth. I did look and what you said And quoted it. Like you're requoting. Not trying to pick a fight with you, friend, just edging into the banter but I have to insist, I'm not sure you understand what you're saying. This part below, quite literally, is wrong.

I think it's actually really unwise to bet on favourites with 1.02 odds of winning, as Argentina were in that game. That "safe side" bet means you have to win 50 such bets to offset 1 loss.

I'm fairly confident, if you placed 1 dollar on every game in this tournament, 50 cents on the favourite, and 50 cents on the underdog... you might be surprised that the safe side won't guarantee you wins. I'll actually start doing that now, for my own curious interest too

In terms of quality, Portugal should be able to qualify easily because the chances of Turkey, Georgia and the Czech Republic are not as big as Portugal's chances of almost 60%. When it comes to playing on the same tea i don't think any professional player would want to carry grudges in the pitch. These players are professionals it doesn't matter what the media says, sometimes the media cook up stories in other to tease or make fans talk about them as they start, and the other reason is for that media or influencers to get famous. Bruno Fernades and Christiano Ronaldo are very strong combo in the attack against any opponent. But don't forget that to complete a team there has to be good midfielders and defenders and i think Portugal still have the juice in them. Perhaps you forgot Dalot and Pepe in the defense and the almighty Bernado Silva of Manchester City in the midfield. Wow! Indeed, we would watch a great action when they play and i can't wait.

Actually Portugal has little to worry here except from Czech Republic who had a really decent stat in their qualifying and throughout last year, aside them Portugal has little to worry after all Portugal are among the title favourites.
