No. It isn't the same at all and that way Sportsbet doesn't really get the traffic. Also to make it fair to other users we would then need to make free bets for double the amount of money or maybe for min odds of 2.5 which would complicate rules even more.

This is first time competition like this has been attempted at forum and we need to keep it as simple as possible while hitting our goals.

I don't think It would work without logging on to our goggle accounts, because of security reasons and as to as well be sure of who is answering what, because just a participant if there is no need log on to google account can anonymously asnwer the questions multiple times or for other users with an obviously wrong answers or something.

Interested people from the beginning would have been active on the forum, would have been active gamblers, willing to share betslips and applying early.

These are the requirements anyway for joining, I can see who joined who were interested from the beginning and met all the requirements.

On the contrary, I was surprised that the seats were not reserved instantly. The contest is obviously lucrative with a nominal entry fee plus a brand new format. Given the number of active members of the forum who take part in various contests and pools, I'm glad that I managed to get a slot.

I would support you, but the reality is that many here talk but then they don't end up competing in the enormous number of pools that we have, and those of us who always play wonder how it is that since there are +1000 users going around this section we are always the same 20 competing.
And no matter how big the prizes are when you ask them for a few cents to enter, they disappear, it seems that they want everything for free.

So once a more closed format has been chosen, I will not tolerate it coming to say such a thing, and as they told you above, if you are so handsome, enter the other one to compete.

And yes, I'm being harsh with words but it's reality.

I think there was enough time to join until all spots got filled. If you really wanted to play, there was wt least few days to join. And if you think that there should be more than 32 players accepted, can you offer how to keep format identical to World Cup?

because most users do want to pay to compete, they want to have it for free, and get rewards, but that is simply not possible always

with all said, these paying pools, with all free bets, sponsorships and rewards in the end, without cut from entry payments for organization really seem as a bargain, and have real value for users, at least I see it that way, and question myself how it is possible that there is no more than 20 participants in all beside EPL

What do you mean does first question count? This was test and it doesn't count, it was purely for your convenience to see how it will work. There will be 10 questions each round and each of those questions count as one point. There will be some other questions like your username or place to link ticket that is on top of those 10 "real" questions. We will have tie breaker in each round, time of first goal in last game of the match day. They will probably be needed only in knockout stages and hopefully not often since 10 questions should be enough to get a winner.

I didn't try out the test form too, but I don't think there should be any problem from my end when answering the questions, I'm also curious as to when will get each sets of questions because I wouldn't want to miss out on any, but I'm sure I'll be very active here during the world cup, I have less school work and stuffs, so I should be able to watch at least 80-90% of all matches.

You could, but then we'd ask for your e-mail addresses in the forms and we'd ask you to write a post on the forum with the exact time when you posted the predictions.
We really want to make this as easy as possible, but have methods of preventing cheating if it starts to happen.
If, however, it does - we'll probably find the guilty one, and also flag his BTT profile.

First real questions will be sent out some time during Friday - so you'll have plenty of time.

I'm sorry if you missed the point. LTU_btc was attempting to demonstrate, but his right if you consider his example: a campaign manager sets a number he wants and selects those he only wants to work with, and when all slots are filled up, no one complains. But, to be clear, the competition was open to all and was intended for only 32 players because we are using the official FIFA numbers of teams participating in this year's World Cup, and because it is a free entry, I'm not surprised we had so many new members wanting to join, but those of us who are already on the sportsbet paid pool and those who have been playing for years were given a preference.

Having said that, you are still welcome to apply for a reserve seat in the event that a few members do not show up. Other pools are still open for a few bitcoin fees to join. Tbh, everyone was treated fairly.

How do you propose to cheat actually? You are entering with bitcointalk name and you are sending screenshot of your ticket. Every ticket in Sportsbet has ID and we can always ask Sportsbet to verify everything. Is it really worth giving us some extra work when you can't profit from it in the end? Plus your account gets tagged by couple of DT1 and DT2 memebers and maybe even some further consequences on Sportsbet account?

I simply don't see feasible attack vector here.

Just be normal guys and play fun game, no need to overthink everything. We can also make it in a way that you have to sign every messege from BTC addy, and use that same BTC addy to deposit on Sportsbet. But I don't want to screw good people just because some idiot may cheat. Let him try, we will deal with it as harsh as possible and adapt the rules for the future.

Don't know if this has been asked before or maybe this question will look stupid, but I'd like to be clear, my question is:
1. Each participant will answer the question according to the schedule of the match where will their group play in the WC? For example, I am in group F, I will only answer questions when the 4 National teams in that group compete
2. Questions will only be about the National team from the group where I am?
