Senegal was a sure thing, but in a day with many more surer things, England and Netherlands managed to miss expectations. Didn't get to see very much of the games, or watch them properly, but 0-0 and 1-1 probably just about tells the story of what the matches were.

Thanks! As this is the first time that I'm a part of any pool in the forum, I'd say that I had beginner's luck in the first round. I also gave my answers for the second round without much research so I don't know how it will go. I wanted to check my answers but I can't find the link to the spreadsheet. I guess we'll have to wait for the guys to come back from their business trip to provide us the link.

As for the yesterday's results, it was quite surprising that Netherlands and England couldn't win their matches. USA played really well and it looked to me they are closer to winning that England. I didn't get to watch the game between Netherlands and Ecuador.

No, no it is a business trip, you make connections and then it is much easier to work with those people later on. And we talk business often, it is just good idea to reiterate important points in the morning to check if all parties remember everything from initial conversations

Brazil's match was against Serbia in the FIFA World Cup 2022.  But after 67 minutes, Neymar, the youngest and striker of the Brazilian team, was injured.  It was not yet understood how much pain Neymar had in his ankle.  But when he left the field before the end of the match, he could not walk properly.  His ankle is very swollen.  But the Brazilian team suffered the most as it is not yet known exactly how long his injury will last.  If Neymar can't play as a striker in the Brazil team, then Brazil has the highest chance of being knocked out of the FIFA World Cup 2022.

There's actually a lot happening during the meetup, although you can't really call it work.
A bunch of the Sportsbet's guys are here, so we discussed betting markets, strategies, areas to improve, general crypto ideas and so on.

Their team and management is really progressive, and also fun to be around. So when it looks that we're getting hammered and are tossing chips around, it's basically just a modern version of a business meeting

I can confirm Trofo and cryptofrka are very busy with work behind the scenes, think it is what one might say a natural fit with the way Steve and SB guys work. Really fun, really creative and pushing boundaries.

Personally like the way this format is working out, especially with a sort of static forum coding, I think best of all for me is seeing new blood.

I believe Saudi Arabia's government gesture towards their victory against Argentina must have definitely influenced the players performance today, they've been the better side clearly attacking and pressing the Polish sides as they weren't the underdogs of the group before the opening match, Szczęsny with an outstanding first half performance to keep his team ahead after yet another controversial penalty was awarded in this tournament, at least this time it was with VAR's help.

Lewandowski showed great team work today and decided it is more worth give the ball to someone else that in a better position to score than try and shoot in a not optimal position and maybe get his first World Cup goal. Others need to learn with him, specially Canada, that would've won against Belgium if the players were as eager to get the victory for the team than as they were to be the first goalscorer of Canada in a World Cup.

I hope Lewandowski scores a goal...in the next game

That's what it is with this world cup, Lewandowski was unfortunate with two goals, could have scored an hattrick easily but I would have taken that two unlucky goals for him, over the single fortunate one, as he was my captain for the MD2, that hattrick would have done me a great deal, but 1 and 1 assist isn't such a bad one to settle for to be honest, and I'm not going to be changing it.

I admit that KSA played very confidently today (KSA pressure on poland is very large), surely that came about because they beat Argentina in the first match. VAR made it difficult for Argentina in the match against KSA, this time KSA cannot rely on it because Poland has a different strategy.

By the way i want to share how lucky (naive) i was:



  Of the four favorites, only Senegal lived up to expectations. I think that multi-bets in the group stage are unlikely to be profitable for anyone (few people make multi-bets from bets on outsiders), but if so, those were odds of 100 and above.

Lots of surprises yesterday, a bit better today but still anything can happen. For instance if Argentina losses tonight against Mexico it is game over for them. That should be one hell of a game. Already getting ready for it
