Thankfully, did not go with Benzema though I was really in 2 minds about it. Other just seemed safer. Also didn't imagine 6 people wouldn't pick Sterling to start. Not the best guy but Southgate loves him.

I also definitely need to talk smack about teams, as soon as I complained about England 0-0 they scored, and added 2 more before HT. Shaw and Maguire assists, by the way, so I guess I won't see Trent coming in (sobs).

Nope, somebody else wrote that about goals. I expected very low scoring game and Ecuador to win 1:0, even had under 2.5 goals bet and thought it will go down the drain when Ecuador started scoring.

I can already imagine England supporters signing "It is coming home", I guess it could since they are in luck and some of the strongest team like Hungary did not qualify for this WC

So, 31 out of the 32 participants filled in the form correctly for the 1st round. The only one that did not is Gabbiechamp, who will be replaced by entebah.

Although Lolojones was the first reserve on the list at the time we filled in the 32 spots, entebah did enter the competition on time for the reserve slots and he does fulfill all the forum criteria - which Lolojones does not.
With that said - we are closing the competition now and there is no more opportunities to enter.

I updated the spreadsheets and the draw - and we'll enter the points after the 1st round is complete.

Even Gakpo didn't realise he'd scored, and that last one from Klaasen was because Senegal just threw it on. Anyway, phew for me and my ticket lives on. Team that will score the fastest goal in the 1st round of the World Cup might still be affected by US/Wales. Ecuador's still got the lead with 16' though they would have comfortable been the winning pick for this one had their first goal stood.

Not really the case, you have to make a difference between Benzema market like Benzema to score, Benzema to assist... and general market that just has Benzema as one option. For instance who will win golden boot and you pick Benzema. Every bookie has its own T&C but almost all bookies would void "Benzema market" bets while they would let "general market" bets play. Unless they void as part of the promo or marketing trick.

Our questions falls into "general market" by my book.

Hope I managed to convey my point. I am actually one of those crazy people that read T&C before betting on site and I have seen all kinds of strange stuff inside them. For instance wbet7 counts forfeits in tennis as regular result and pays out bets or takes your money. Used that a couple of times to my advantage in early GS rounds and got screwed by it a couple of times as well.

Same, glad that they got some goals going at the near end of the game. Initially, it felt like the game was about to end 0-0 as they barely had any shots on goal and I thought my Netherlands bet was going to bust.

On the other hand, my Netherlands pick for the most goals is probably dead after that sluggish performance.

This was fun day in World Cup, I enjoyed goal fest in England vs Iran match, and I was sure Engalnd will destroy them after Iran goalkeeper got injured in first half.

So far so good for my World Cup betting but to be honest I have been very very safe. Only one bet on Ecuador over 1.5 goals, I didn't trust England but should have, I almost trusted USA and saved myself, but now in 3 hours ++ my first big bet waits to clear on Argentina, it was very bad odds but I just wanted to get a round number on my balance so put it all there.

Also have a smaller multibet that will clear if they win (with England).

Hey there, yes. We have linked the spreadsheet already but we agree it makes more sense to put it at the beginning of the thread as well.

We will put the link in the 2nd post, where the groups are. We will also select the correct answers on a daily basis, but will announce the totals only when the round is done.

We will put some graphics for the future, so we can discuss more about your choices.

They did it successfully at the end of the day, didn't they ? I think that I had Lautaro not to score, but missed Sterling, if I remember answers correctly (on mobile, cannot check spreadsheet, but it is better to wait till the round end to check everything)

had Argentina first to score goal, if remember correctly, or most goals, and Belgium first to score (those two were my picks for biggest trashes in first round), but England trashed Iran without mercy, to probably claim that one
