Exactly my point. This picture proves my point even more than the one I uploaded. It was a collision and not a foul. Even with that in mind, it would be easier for me (and a lot of other people) to accept the decision if just Orsato had checked the VAR monitor and ruled after seeing the slow motion.

We have different opinions and that's fine. But the fact remains that Orsato might have decided not to rule penalty for Argentina if he saw the situation on the VAR monitor. I guess the VAR was introduced to football because of that reason.

There will always be differing viewpoints on any given situation, which is what makes football so fascinating. Is VAR even reliable? They've made the worst mistakes in the years since it was implemented, and as long as the people behind it are still field referees, we'll have problems- when VAR was first implemented, I thought it would require a special specialist to operate it. The referee association is far too powerful; no matter how poorly they perform, they are rarely penalized.

I think both have some good points but that its the problem in football, its not black or white.

For me its penalty because in football for example you cant make "screens" like in basketball, second and most important in football its so dificult to take a point because always have "advantage" the player you carry the ball, if you touch him and not the ball can be a foul no matter what, like in this case.

For example for me its more penalty the one to Moroco from Theo Hernandez..... but he was with the ball..... so fault from the morocan guy.

That wasn't a miskick; there was no way he could score from that angle after the GK ran out of his own line, so he simply flicked the ball over his hand to bypass the GK for a simple tap in. I submitted my picks for the finals about an hour+ ago, and what's left to do is to sit back and enjoy the grand infantino of a socially awkward tournament, but Sportsbet still found a way as they always do to make it worth more than just bore fest.

With CasperBGD being the bigger favorite and myself the underdog, could I get a 3.00 or thereabout for me to win the world cup ?

I literally think I might have missed first 3 question, I had Ivan Perisic to play for 85+ minutes and have short on goal or assist, and the reason for my choice was literally down to Perisic already been totally overused and I felt Dalic might given an early rest today, but If the question were assist or goal, without the 85 minutes clause, I definitely would have gone for Yes, I really don't remember all the questions that involves the third place match, so I'd would have known what my answers were.

To think about it, Croatia is the smallest country that made it to the R16, if not the smallest that came to Qatar (I can't confirm the other countries' populations), a country of less than 4 million people, which is about the population of Lagos State. Six World Cup appearances, three medals, and the younger players in the team are some of the wanted names in Europe. If Croatia maintains this pace and keep the coach for a longer period of time, they may dominate Europe, and this is no joke. I heard Modric is sticking with the team till after the next Euro, which is absurd because he will be 39 in 2024, and we are about to witness another greatness. I believe he is striving for 40

We were talking about penalty for Argentina against Croatia and I am the only Croatian that still doesn't claim it wasn't a penalty. I can see that situation both ways.

But how in the hell we did not get a penalty for start on Gvardiol today? Ok, I understand the ref is bad and without experiance but that is also a problem since FIFA chose him. If VAR does not call ref to check situation like this there is no point in having VAR at all.

I think in modern football yes, Croatia its by far the most sucefull little country (talking about population and dimesion) but in total football history we also have Uruguay with the same size in term of population.

Its amazing how Messi, Cristiano , Modric and others, push the age of retirement and also the age of playing a highg level of football, i remember no so far ago, like 10 or 20 years ago, a footballer in his 32 it was old and goes to USA or some minor leagues, and retires at 35. And that was a lot in that time.
