And sadly, after making so much hype about myself going into the competition, I was knocked out, and for the first time, this lucky bastard buywatress got his way, and Harkorede as uasul kept getting lucky, but wait for me nigga, I promise you I'll beat your ass in the UCL prediction pool.  BTW, congrats guys, you did an amazing job, especially with the MD3 questions.

At least today is not the day 

I was already scared I'd potentially be facing Buwaytress, at least that's if I make past this stage with another tough guy LTU_btc from almost every pool I've participated in so far, we've got 6 question left and we have to answer in common, I just need two more of the four questions we shared different perspectives about to go my way then, then I'll be through to the next stage, the most likely being the Croatians to dominate Japan, and the round of 16 having more than 22 goals.

After Saka and Harry Kane had scored, I was sure Foden would also get an attempt at goal if he was left on the pitch for the entire game, but Gareth Southgate did me a favour of taken him out before he gets that opportunity.

After Saka and Harry Kane had scored, I was sure Foden would also get an attempt at goal if he was left on the pitch for the entire game, but Gareth Southgate did me a favour of taken him out before he gets that opportunity.

I couldn't even watch the match but I was so sure it would be Rashford starting, the way he was starting this tournament, if I knew it was Foden I wouldn't have been so sure every forward would be getting a shot on target, but still, I am happy with 2 points out of 4 so far and my opponent Slissy has 0/4 (I was really afraid of him actually!!).

Now we only have 3 different answers so I just need to get 1 of those right and we can draw!

I'm definitely losing this one, I think, Woodie got a fantastic headstart, and I looked very quickly, need to get the goal count right and Ronaldo to score to get back on level terms but if he gets Spain lineup right, I'm out. He went for a full European progress too -- and I need 2 to crash out, and I thought England would be one. Japan and Morocco have to save me (yeah right).

Doesn't matter, of course, I got some heavy hitting bets lined up so am more concerned with that. No specials, and I can't watch this game, good luck Cro2... you'll be happy to know my money's on Japan, so it should mean I lose.

not sure why, but I do think that Croatia is a value bet @2.05 against Japan, expected it on 1.75 or similar
with that said, cannot say that Croatia will progress, but they are certainly bigger favorites that bookies are showing

Well, you should never play on Croatia to win in regular time when knockout stages begin. We went to extra time in 8 out of 9 such matches. I don't think anybody else has that kind of stats. Only one that wasn't ET or penalties was our loss to France in the final last time around.

I cashed in on both to score and very "secure" Croatia not to loose, so happy day for me. If only Brazil - Korea ends with both to score as well...money, money,money.

As Trofo said, only 1 of our knockout games since 1998 World Cup didn't go into extra time. I hope we manage to keep this crazy statistics in our next game as well

I had us to win in regular time, for increased stakes - so could have gone better for me betting-wise. But the only important thing is that we are through.

Yeah, the game was just like Croatia likes to play knockout games. A tie game with few chances on both sides but this one was (obviously) won thanks to our goalie Livakovic. In Russia we had Subasic who was saving us and now we have Livakovic. I really don't know if the guys will be able to recover for the game against Brazil/South Korea. Some of them couldn't walk, let alone run.

Assuming that Spain doesn't get eliminated by Morocco, then the correct answer in question number 9 would be "all 6 European teams will advance to the quarter-finals". I hope Brazil will make total over today and I will advance to the next round ahead of schedule 
Judging by the goal of Vinicius in the 7th minute, there is every chance for this.

They are a team that doesn't suit us at all, we are the weakest in the full-backs position where they will attack with the most quality and depth.

I'd prefer playing anybody else - we will have to perform a small miracle to qualify to the semis.

Only thing that is good for us against Brazil is that our players always give their best performances against strongest opponents, and it doesn't get any stronger than this Brazil side.

They were really impressive tonight and I was a bit surprised Tite started with 5 very attacking players. I guess he finally decided to go with popular opinion and let the beast run free. Korea did not know whom to defend in first half while Brazil was playing at their max.

I planned to offer some statistics for today's games but I got some kind of a flu and slept throughout most of the day.
Here are some for tomorrow, and from the recent Brazil game:





The only doubt for Europe is Spain, so it will either be 5 or all 6 Europeans to go through.
There has been a lot of goals so far as well - and we need 1 more goal tomorrow to push us to 22.

The first QF games are on Friday, so you can expect the questions for the next round probably Wednesday afternoon or Thursday morning.
The results of the R16 will be published tomorrow after the games.

Great stats show, cryptofrka! I think it's fair to say a lot of us got caught by the goals question. There were plenty of goals in group games, but I expected very tough and tight games from the Last 16. Didn't expect Netherlands to score so many, even Brazil got 4 goals in first half from 5 shots in target, Richarlison by the way scored 3/4 from his shots on target, that's one guy I underestimated... and overestimated South Korea's ability (but it's Brazil so maybe shouldn't be so hard on them).

Anyway, Slissy, looks like I beat you already and I think it is very likely I meet inthelongrun... I'm very excited!

When I check the questions for upcoming matches, both of us gave the same answer for all but one question. Even if that one question goes to my side, I'm still unable to beat @inthelongrun. Glad you liked it guys, we will probably also make some sort of  feedback form when competion ends to get info from all of you and to see what you liked best and what we could have maybe done differently.

We have some ideas already but we will see how we can incorporate them into Spotsbet marketing plan, hopefully there will be more competitions like this.

I left this topic as soon as I got knocked out like the Germans, great expectations, little result but I'm back now for banter. I see you're already ahead of the lucky bastard, which doesn't surprise me because I expected him to join me as a commentator shortly. doing exactly what he does best It's been a rough R18, but not for England and Brazil; these two are tearing weaker teams apart, and I can't wait for the quarterfinals. We had so many weaker teams advance to the R16 that I wasn't expecting tough matchups all around.


Croatia and Brazil women came prepared, and we don't want them to leave anytime soon; I've never missed a moment with their fans. wonderful lovely ladies

Thank you mate. And I am sorry for knocking you out of this tournament. I cannot believe I just beat you. The truth is I'd been watching you and Dittoup since you guys were rocking in round 1. Every time I watched the spreadsheets, besides tracking my groupmates I always checked both of you until Dittoup had problems in round 3. I sacrificed half of my party time last weekend telling my friends I needed time because I entered a WC tournament and that I am head-to-head against the person I am tracking. Luck is on my side as I managed to qualify and now I barely escaped with a single point.     

Consider me the Japan in this tournament. There's a reason why I picked only 5 European teams to proceed in this round, I thought Japan is the one to deliver another upset which they nearly did but failed. So I will be facing Slaman29 in the round of 8, another difficult challenge for me.
