I contacted my ISP and they seem to have some problems.

It's a regional DNS issue which should be affecting more than just leaserig.

You can make a hosts file on your miners/LRP rigs if you are having an issue.

C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts

/etc/hosts

Code:
23.236.58.114 leaserig.net rigs.leaserig.net www.leaserig.net

It seems to be working now.
IMHO, adding that line to the hosts file would affect only website problem in case DNS servers are down. I don't think this was the case, because LRP couldn't connect directly to the IP 23.236.58.114.

? the issue as I understand it was DNS.  LRP would fail if there was a DNS issue.

They didn't quite share that information with me. Just that something was wrong with international connections.
And this only happened with one of the internet providers here.

Same here. They didn't even know what was going on. Maybe it is a CloudFlare problem? It was having problems yesterday.

Need some help.

I've set up a new rig, but in the providers screen under the column "can be rented" it says NO.

I've set the location, given it a hash speed, created some rental plans, added default pools. Enabled the rig. What else do I need to do?

At the moment, the miner is running through LeaseRig Proxy and hashing on my default pool, but nobody can rent.

Help!

miaviator, I stongly request that all rigs by hostkey must be taken down at once. Please read all the complaints in this thread:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=435538.100;topicseen

We have metrics for provider / customer action in cases like this.   HostKey provides a lot of rigs and provides full and pro-rated refunds.    That being said we are acting in accordance with our internal policies.

Ok, how about this one:

https://leaserig.net/fbview.jsp?fbmid=434
https://leaserig.net/index.jsp?page=hire&rigid=434

It seems to be fooling LRP into showing an absurd hashrate.

Yeah, that tripped me once too. See this:

Yeah, I've been watching that rig for the last week.  Not sure that it's tricking LRP.  TBH I think he's exploiting an existing issue.

At times I've seen LRP start reporting an unreal hashrate after it's been running solid for a couple of weeks.

It would be super useful if someone who rented the rig posted what speed it was actually running.

Either way, we're going to resolve the problem shortly.   Cool

Question: What do you do about people who leave unjustified bad feedback? I'm talking about the new star system on the site, not on the reputation threads.

I recently had a guy hire my rig for only 2 hours. The pool he was using went down a couple of times, and he's left bad feedback because he thinks it's my fault. I even explained it to him, yet I get 3 stars only for communication.

If this was eBay, I'd be able to challenge the feedback and have unjustified feedback removed. What's the situation here? I'd like to know, because anything less than 5 stars puts potential customers off.

Personally I think the reputation thread was a better approach than the stars for precisely that reason - you have the opportunity to see both sides and how the rig owner handles issues. Star ratings are one-sided, and thus are subject to manipulation by renters (who are often competing rig owners themselves - hmmm, what could possibly go wrong?)

The star system is simpler for people in a hurry, but the downside of it being potentially unfair to rig owners should also be considered.

You can reply to the feedback and you can challenge feedback with support.

Can you make some suggestions for improvement vs blanket negative feedback regarding ratings?  We cannot stay permanently attached to bitcointalk unless Thymos wants to sponsor or buy LeaseRig.  We also have to have an onsite feedback system so customers outside of bitcointalk can easily see reviews.

It appears you gave the star system no stars which by your own admission:

I didn't realize there was an issue with using the bitcointalk reputation threads. Would it be possible to have a similar thread forum within the Leaserig site? Alternately, some way for rig owners to respond/interact with people leaving feedback in the star system would fit the bill. Just so people can see both input from both sides, that's the basic idea.

I hope this helps. Best wishes,
ebliever

You're a jerk. That's why you violated the purchase agreement of leaserig, it was supposed to be a private script, and not distributed to others.

Don't think so, I can use the reply button too. Unless I'm also a beta tester without knowing it?

Silly me.  Roll Eyes

I do see the Reply button now. Hadn't noticed that before. That goes a long way towards addressing our concern I think.

UPDATE: I gave the Reply button a try, and I see that my reply is buried. I'm not sure what anyone else would see, but it doesn't appear on the main page of the feedback/star ratings for the rig. The only way I could see it again was to hit the Reply button again. Can you make it so Replies are fully visible, or at least have a link (maybe with a comment "This Feedback Has Replies From the Rig Operator") on the main screen that everyone can see?

Whenever you post a reply, the customer is notified via email with a link to your reply.  From there they can reply to you and you will in turn be notified.  (Vicious cycle).

I wasn't sure whether cluttering up the main feedback view with a lot of replies was a good idea or not.  A lot of times you get a ton of completely unrelated information that you have to look through just to view the actual feedback (i.e. this forum).

Also, this feature is still in active development, so keep the "feedback" coming.  Cheesy
