It has been discussed before because basically Barcelona and Napoli has similar problem that their performance at their domestic league doesn't really good especially for Napoli because previously they were suffering several defeat which make their position is dropped and currently Napoli even have to out from top 4 at league standings and several days ago Napoli too has failed to gets their first trophy this season because they were lost at Super Coppa final match from Inter Milan so i think if we compared between these teams Barcelona is slightly better than Napoli because at least their position is still at top 4

But indeed Barcelona owner didn't accept the failure because if Xavi want to secured his position as a manager so he have to bringing Barcelona to eliminate Napoli because if Xavi unable to do that most likely he will be sacked and for European competitions Barcelona under Xavi still hasn't displayed good performance even last season Barcelona have to play at round of 16 for Europa League because for Champions league group stages Barcelona have to finish at 3rd place and about this match first leg will be held at Napoli home ground and if Barcelona can able to not lost from this match i think there is a chance for them to advances to the quarterfinal and Napoli records during group stages also not impressive because Real Madrid can beat them twice so Barcelona have to utilized this record to at least get draw result at Napoli home ground

Eliminate Barcelona from the UEFA champions league is impossible right? Every team have a weak spot and Napoli new coach, Walter Mazzarri can easily spot the big difference between his opponents and his team, afterall he managed Napoli and basically knows the buttons to press inother to grab good points in matches. There's something we all should believed regarding the status of Barcelona, they might not be in good shape in La Liga and struggling in other tournaments, but when it comes to UEFA Champions League, we're aware how tough and important the tournament is, winning becomes a priority.

But I don't think that Barcelona really has a chance to win the Champions League. Of course, for as long as they are still around, they can still hope for the best, but the team isn't playing well and they have big issues with their attacking line. Lewandowski is still not in a great condition and he Is only getting older. I doubt that they will have a shot at the title if they can't improve their game significantly. Since their hands are more or less tied because they don't have any alternatives to rotate in and improve their game, I think their Champions League season will soon come to an end.

The most interesting fact is all of the favorite teams e.g. Real Madrid, Manchester City, Bayern Munich and Inter Milan are currently not stand in the first position in their respective domestic leagues. I guess it will be unpredictable, but both of Manchester City and Bayern Munich have a big gap points difference, unlike Real Madrid and Inter that are behind one point.

That reminds me with allegri's comment if old lady was trying to get its scudetto back from the thief. It's hard to tell how big chance owned by intermilan to get scudetto but it must be 50:50. There will be no club potentially to enter the title race along with intermilan and juventus.

Just like you rightly pointed out, none of the teams which are considered as the favorites to win the UEFA Champions League competition this season is currently leading the league standings in their respective leagues and that's to tell you how competitive the current campaign have been to top clubs in Europe. Manchester City will face a strong resistance from Liverpool as they continue to fight for the English Premier League title, Bayern Munich also faces strong battle from a very in-form Bayer Leverkusen, Real Madrid will have to deal with a very consistent Girona and Inter Milan will battle it out with a significantly improved Juventus.

I believe that Inter will still advance even to the semifinals and it seems that comparing the performance of each team in each different domestic league will make it increasingly difficult to determine the fate of each team in advancing to the higher rounds. Who did he want actually? I read he wants Halland, Pogba, etc in the past[1]. If that is true I think that's really too demanding considering their financial situation. He should give a list of alternatives if he really wants to play with a system that needs them. He seems to know about this though, which is why he probably uses young players or agrees on free transfers so that the club can fix their situation first[2]. Other reports suggest he is looking for a "10" or more defenders hence why they signed another defender on free transfer[3]. Looking at this situation, I think the management can't do much until a few years later after their financial situation stabilizes and the fans need to be more patient. I'd say another proper season is probably the last gamble they can take with Xavi as long as they can get quality players.

but I personally think that the team that needs the most attention this year is Bayern Munich. They are in extremely stable form this season, their players are in extremely good form, especially Harry Kane - a player who is a terror to defenders

They managed to score only 2 goals in their last 2 matches[4]. I don't watch most of their game but some pundits that I follow stated that Bayern doesn't play as well as last season. Would you agree with that assessment? Their title race with Leverkusen is definitely a good motivation to get back into form and play their best in the Champions League just in case they fail to win the league. That sounds really weird to say, but I'd argue their fans would be more than happy to win the UCL if it means losing the Bundesliga.

They have their best players back from injury now,which are  Debruyne and Doku,these two players are really important to City at the moment,and their presence in a match final will give them an edge over their opponent.

I don't think the Serie A is a good indicator of Inter Milan strength although it shows something.I think the fact that Inter conceded 3 goals in a single half when playing against Benfica showed quite some big vulnerabilities in their defense which they need to fix or at least greatly improved or it will be very difficult for them.I think they will qualify for the next round but from there on I am not sure if they will be capable of moving forward like they did last year when they reached the final.

Serie A is difficult to compare with the Premier League or La Liga, where the competition and level of teams is higher, but in the last Champions League, Inter proved that they are capable of reaching the final, maybe there was some luck in this, let's see how they repeat it this season.

It seems to me that Inzaghi was able to strengthen the team and now they have become an even more competitive team, but I’m not sure if they can reach the final again. They have a good defense and the match with Benfica is an exception, partly because this match was not so decisive, they conceded only 5 goals during the entire group stage, three of them in the match with Benfica, so their defense is quite good.

I agree with you that serie A is more difficult than premier league because of the competition, I believe the reason why is like that is because almost all the club on the serie A has the same performance as others which makes it very difficult for all the team on the league and in a case like that it will be very difficult for a club to be consistent because they can easily be brought down from there position.
