And they have given Guardiola complete freedom to build his squad as he sees fit. And for this Manchester City is ready to spend big amount. On the other hand, Barcelona's finances are now very weak. They are not able to buy players at high prices. More importantly, Barcelona management is not able to pay high wages to the players. This is why star players are now reluctant to come to Barcelona. Real Madrid's domination is just enormous though. The year is 2024 and they are still competitive in the Champions League as always.    They are the most consistent team here. However I wonder whether this can change in the future. Because there is especially a threat like Manchester City for the upcoming years including this one. They became the champions for the first time previously and they are going for a back-to-back now.

The most interesting fact is all of the favorite teams e.g. Real Madrid, Manchester City, Bayern Munich and Inter Milan are currently not stand in the first position in their respective domestic leagues. I guess it will be unpredictable, but both of Manchester City and Bayern Munich have a big gap points difference, unlike Real Madrid and Inter that are behind one point.

Currently, Madrid players have a lot of talented young players, which is why Manchester City might consider their meeting in the UCL this season, even though in the UCL match last season Manchester City beat Madrid with a landslide score, it doesn't mean that this season their meeting will get the same result.

Manchester City and Bayern Munich are still struggling to catch up with the points deficit from their rivals to reach first place in their domestic league, while Real Madrid and Inter Milan can still return to the top of the standings because they still have one match remaining. Even though Manchester City and Bayern Munich are not at the top of the standings in the domestic league, it will not change their status as favorite teams because of their very good performance in the UCL.

These teams must continue to be at the top of their performance to maintain their chances of becoming UCL champions. Inter Milan really wants to become champions this season after failing in last season's final. Inter's journey is still difficult for its competitors in the domestic league, making it a team that its competitors must be wary of.

Yes, City were able to go past them last season and we must credit them for that performance. The difference is clear now that Madrid has real improved and would be a hard nut to crack for City. The talents in this Madrid side are purly on another level and you’ve got to require more than talent to beat them. To defeat them you’ve to be on another level.

 For this match, it’ll be one fierce encounter and I’m very sure Madrid will come out top of this encounter. Madrid has improved so good that they didn’t lost their UCL group stage matches which has Italian Champions, Napoli in it, they’ve won 2 El Classicos this season already and the Spanish Super Cup and are currently sitting ontop the league. The talent, and experience of these Madrid team will be a hard force to reckon with if you want to go past them in the UCL.

It has been discussed before because basically Barcelona and Napoli has similar problem that their performance at their domestic league doesn't really good especially for Napoli because previously they were suffering several defeat which make their position is dropped and currently Napoli even have to out from top 4 at league standings and several days ago Napoli too has failed to gets their first trophy this season because they were lost at Super Coppa final match from Inter Milan so i think if we compared between these teams Barcelona is slightly better than Napoli because at least their position is still at top 4

The UEFA Champions League title have to be revived by the main competitor, Real Madrid. Carlo Ancelotti have built strong pillars surrounding Real Madrid. Winning matches was seen to be the routine of elite clubs but currently, mediocre teams do anticipates into fitting into the standards of elite clubs. I do not even know where the rumor of Pep Guardiola returning to Barcelona emanated from. Secondly, Pep Guardiola has nothing to prove to anyone about his career. That man is specially outstanding and he has proven it time without number. So, going back to Barcelona and becoming successful dear for the second time is never a yardstick to measure his success in coaching. If I were Pep Guardiola I would also not return to Barcelona, instead, if I am tired of Manchester City I would go to national team and possibly retired from there. It is not every coach that manages average players to get results, an average coach would have to manage average players. But a coach like Pep Guardiola obviously needs world class players to make football a good thing to watch. Eliminate Barcelona from the UEFA champions league is impossible right? Every team have a weak spot and Napoli new coach, Walter Mazzarri can easily spot the big difference between his opponents and his team, afterall he managed Napoli and basically knows the buttons to press inother to grab good points in matches. There's something we all should believed regarding the status of Barcelona, they might not be in good shape in La Liga and struggling in other tournaments, but when it comes to UEFA Champions League, we're aware how tough and important the tournament is, winning becomes a priority.

Agree. The position of the teams in domestic league won't always describe the chance to win or lose in UCL matches. Last year, Inter Milan was very struggling in Serie A, they were only in the 3rd place. But they could go far in the UCL, they reached the final round against Man City.
