This is still possible but of course we must also be aware of other conditions. This is the Champions League where every great team from various domestic leagues gather so this is another reference. Yes I agree with you, every player definitely needs time to adapt to his new team. Whether it's the style of play, the formation of the coach and of course the emotional relationship with other fellow players. There are lots of star players who failed to shine after joining Madrid, most recently Hazard who has left there. Purchased at a high price from Chelsea he failed to show his best quality in Madrid.

For strikers I think Madrid, especially Ancelotti, still have many options to rotate their players, Joselu, who is on loan from Espanyol, could be an option. I would never put Inter among any kind of favourite teams in the Champions League. Yeah I must admit that they did a really good work by making it to the finale this season. But this isn't the kind of a success they achieve much often. Inter were way better than this in the Champions League in the past. But now we rarely see them at this level. 2000s and 2010s were the best time periods in which Inter were quite impressive in this tournament. To reach that level they need to work harder.

The fact that they were there and couldn't smell the Champions League, there is nothing to prove to justify that they are good and capable of winning the Champions League. Last season alot of teams were struggling they were either having issues with players lack of form or having issues with coaches that was why it was easy for them to go ahead and win their first champions league. Their champions league final against chelsea in 2021 and also their semi final against Real Madrid last season showed they lack a striker, someone that will just score goals for them, these matches matches proved to guardiola that they needed a striker and that was the main reason he signed Haaland and as we can see Haaland proved him right that a striker was all he needed. 

Barca Contending for the champions league now would be impossible because they don’t have the squad yet to compete in the champions league.
