But sadly, they no longer get that mystical "hint" because it only comes once. Buying retail lotteries is a solution for people who don't want to pay taxes because it's just about them and the dealer so the tax paid is just the tax to the dealer.

And those who buy those retail lotteries don't think about probabilities or anything else, and just buy lottery tickets and then process them with their skills and then buy them. I also don't know how they have so many numbers because they never tell anyone how to do it.

If you bet the lottery at a provider or casino that is large and well-established, then tax will not be applied when you get a win because all types of taxes have been regulated and are the responsibility of the provider or casino, except when making a withdrawal, you may be charged but this not like taxes.

In the PH there is this well-known government owned and controlled national lottery called PCSO or Philippine CHARITY Sweepstakes Office. They run the national lottery which will draw a winning combination everyday. Everyone knows how much money they can make in a monthly basis, so the massive amount of jackpot is not gonna be a big surprise for everyone who loves purchasing their tickets.
On the other hand, regarding the charity works, I don't think they are really giving enough for the people. I've known a lot of less fortunate people who will come to their office with mostly asking for a hospitalization bill assistance. There are only a limited number of people whom they will entertain everyday to give assistance with, when they reach the daily limit they will close their office for monetary assistance for the day. I have heard no matter how huge or small the bill is, they will only give you less than $100 per person if you are qualified.

Lotteries can actually be used as a charity only if the organisers of such event will channel to profit made from the ticket selling to donating to the needy, charity organizations etc.

Aside the above, I don't see how lotteries can be used for charity, asking the needy and hungry to buy a lottery ticket might mean a different thing altogether to him or her because one who is hungry first need money to feed before any other thing, I did rather ask the needy to focus on improving their standards of living, than play lotteries, even though there is a chance he or she may win, there is still a higher chance that he or she may lose the little one he or she has.

There are positive and negative sides to almost anything in the world, we shouldn't judge a whole sector or an industry only based on the positive or negative sides it may have, but we should only see the positive sides of it. I know that there can be projects or companies that might misuse the funds they get in the name of charity, but I'm also sure that not all companies do the same thing and there are also genuine trusts that actually use the money for that cause.

Trusts usually get a lot of funding for charities and they do give out most of them except the expenses I'm sure because they need to spend money for that too surely, and if a trust runs a lottery, they would surely get a lot of spare money even after paying the winners, so it depends on who is in charge of the trust to know if they will actually give away all the money to charity or will take most of it themselves.

Assuming we are talking about online casino here, Most of the countries doesn’t apply taxes on online gambling that use cryptocurency unless the country is already regulating crypto so the user should voluntarily pay taxes on it’s gambling profit. I don't think its for a pure marketing strategy or to convince the public since majority of the lottery players don't really care where their bets go, they are more concern with winning the prize. I think it is somehow affiliated with the laws where they don't get taxed or only obligated to give a little tax depending on the country. I think it's a more realistic reason why they are affiliated with charities.

If its crypto private company claiming that they gonna help poor from their income on their lotteries maybe this will not happen since for sure they gonna help their self or company first before any other else. I don't know how it works, but if there is another party, like a government or a jurisdiction, asking gamblers to pay taxes that would not be the right thing because you yourself have to understand that gamblers can't really benefit.
