Just like the rest been saying that when it comes to financial capability then each person does have that different kind of threshold when it comes into the amount that they could willingly spend on buying those lottery tickets on which there would be those ones who would really be able to afford on spending $5-20 per day or to those who do just simply stick with a buck for them to be able to play or make bet at least.

I was thinking even less: $1 per week = 50 dollars per year = 500 dollars per decade.

Depending on the type of lottery there can be daily draws, weekly ones, or even yearly: in Spain is very typical the "Christmas Lottery", at 20€ per ticket, and people often buy several tickets.

That means that the person who buys a pair of tickets for Christmas would be able to play the whole year for the same price in the weekly lottery. I don't know what you are saying, but lottery and gambling are the same thing and have the same meaning without the slightest difference.

As long as the maths behind a certain game are not rigged, you are right that not only lottery but other games used for gambling are based on pure luck and designed to make you lose in the long run. I think that Lottery itself is not an addictive form of gambling. I mean, you know that your chances are near to zero, doesn't matter how many tickets you buy, you will lose 99.9% case and if you win the jackpot, you really win the amount that is necessary to fulfill your financial dreams and give you an ability to buy an expensive house(s), start a business and live life without fair of what if food gets expensive.
So, lottery is once in a lifetime kind of reward while traditional casino games, like BlackJack and Roulette are type of games that reward you instantly or make you lose your bet.
