When comparing money spent on coffee to that spent on lottery tickets, I can personally say that I perceive money spent on buying lottery tickets as money kind of invested because there is a chance of good profit if the buyer is lucky.
But money spent on buying a coffee is like money thrown away, as there is no chance of making any profit from such money, aside the enjoyment and pleasure felt while drinking the coffee, outside of this, that money is like money thrown inside a toilet since the coffee will eventually be pissed out.

Dont know on why there are really people on who cant really be able to make some differentiation in between gambling and investment on which it is really just that pretty obvious if we do speak about differences but there are ones who do really love on trying out to make things to be that just on the same and just like you said that this is where errors and mistakes do really happen on the time that
they would really be engaging. Just like on whats been clarified or simply just having those simple understandings that betting on lottery or buying a ticket is never been that an investment and it would never be. I don't need yachts or private jets to be extremely happy. In my country, 1 million would be enough to change anyone's life (liquidate mortgage, invest a part to get passive income, and keep working in something you really like, even if it is poorly paid, and you have guaranteed a fulfilling life). I will even say more: above that prize, I don't think the level of happiness will increase.

Maybe 2 millions, so I can also free the next generation? I'm not sure about it: chances are that my children would grow up spoiled. I might keep the second million to counteract the effects of inflation, and that would be all.

About the remaining millions, I would have to see myself in such situation, but I think that the best decision would be to donate them to relatives, close friends, a good cause... so even if I won 65M instead of 100M, better for me: it would mean less worries

Didn't very clearly understand what you said or meant by all you said, but let me just point on a few things, and first is that, you didn't tell us if you dad did ever win the lottery before it was banned in your country, which i believed should have been a only motivation to keep buying the tickets online even after it was banned. If your dad did not ever win the offline lotteries he played, and you still encouraged and even thought him of the possibility of continuing his lottery activities online, then i must say that you are not a responsible son  . Even $65M will be enough for me

Some of lottery buyers want to test luck - it is ok, i don`t understand it due to maths, but it isn`t a problem for anyone. But the others try all their money to but tickets and believe that they win and it can change their life. And it is a problem - they don`t stop losing money.
As for me - the lottery ticket may be some nice small present but i don`t want to spend money trying to test luck with such chances.

Didn't very clearly understand what you said or meant by all you said, but let me just point on a few things, and first is that, you didn't tell us if you dad did ever win the lottery before it was banned in your country, which i believed should have been a only motivation to keep buying the tickets online even after it was banned. If your dad did not ever win the offline lotteries he played, and you still encouraged and even thought him of the possibility of continuing his lottery activities online, then i must say that you are not a responsible son  . (jokes on me anyways)

Let me just say that, though they may bear the same title, online lottery games and offline lottery games are not the same, at least, based on how i personally see them, i see offline lotteries as the main and original lotteries, like the ones organized and managed by the government of the country, or some big cooperations that are government registered and backed, this cannot be compared to online lotteries where it's just a casino running their business.

I have the same doubt after reading Westinhome's answer, and, in addition, some kind of worry about him and his father: if lotteries are banned in his country, don't they fear to lose the prize if they eventually win?

The other day I heard that, in my country, some people will lose their prize after winning the lottery if they meet some conditions, like for example being minors, judicially incapacitated, or those who joined a list to restrict their gambling activities, among others. So, what is your plan if you win big? will you emigrate to a different country where they are allowed? isn't that a bit risky?

When it comes to lottery rules and terms then for sure there would really be and this is why it would really be just that normal that reading up terms and conditions wont really be that spending up that long time on which means that its always been that good for you to read up so that you would be pretty aware on whose been that allowed and whose been that restricted. You would really be putting up yourself on much trouble if you have missed one of those information.In speaking about having migration then it would be depending because if the prize is really that big then you could really be making out such decision but most likely people wouldnt really be leaving their country just for the sake of that but well it would vary since there are ones who are really that willing on doing so.

Yes, anyone who tries to buy or avoid lotteries from any position is right. No one should be looked down upon here. Because no one can guarantee. There is no guarantee that fate will ever favor.
