Price still above 600 over the weekend, what a shame was hoping to get more coins in the 500s.

Is there a bootstrap for Gulden?

Welcome Woody, there might be some in the community that has a bootstrap but our chain does download rather quickly depending on your connection. Since we have upgraded the code base we do have fast sync enabled.

We also have two other forums which you can participate in discussions.

Yesterday I experienced the advantage of having longer block times.
I transferred coins off bittrex and by accident pasted my friends address who I gave some coins to as a test 2 weeks ago, I copy addresses I use to a file and had his on top which was stupid, after I realized my mistake I was able to cancel the transaction with bittrex in time before the first block was found after I confirmed.

It gave me a idea which I don't know is possible but to have a option in the wallet to cancel your transaction if the first block has not come through or to only send after 3 blocks has passed to double check yourself. Perhaps it's a dumb idea but I see it as a advantage for coins with more then 2 min average block times. I can understand something like this would never be possible with coins having less then 1 minute block times.

Afaik this is not possible. Once you broadcast a transaction and other nodes rebroadcast it, there's no way to put the genie back into the bottle, so to speak. Maybe there could be a way to broadcast to the network "please remove this tx from your mempool" and you would have to sign the message with the address you sent the coins from to prove you control it, but this would be a major undertaking I think.
Not 100% true, if no block has yet been created you can send another transaction with a much higher fee - the miners can then (theoretically) choose which to include, and miners want money so its likely the one with the higher fee.. In practice this only has a small percentage chance of working though.

I wouldn't add the above as a feature to the wallet...
However Tom does have a point for regular folk, and for main stream adoption it might be worth considering having the wallet in a mode where it doesn't broadcast the transaction immediately but instead hangs onto it in a queue for a 'cool off' period so that it can be cancelled, similar to what some email providers do with emails now. This could then be overriden with a 'send immediately' checkbox.
At least thats how I would solve this 'use case' rather than trying to actually allow revoking of already sent transactions.

I think not enough coins are produced for that. Take into account that with the recent rise that it attracts more speculators... and people owning coins are holding them. We're on a bumpy way going up. Weekends are now apparently for staying on the same level.

Thanks for the responses.  Yes, that would be a nice addition in the future.  Grin

Depending on how quick they would like them, both, actually...

Through Litebit, you get a certain order in one go.

With btc bying though Bittrex themselves, they could be off cheaper, if they were to wait and anticipate prices dropping a bit. But then again, on the other hand, if the price were to rise, it would be another story  Wink

Are they new to crypto? Litebit if they new but getting btc by another exchange will get them more coins.

Price will remain at 600 - 700 range for a long time so no rush to buy coins. Lots of walls to 800 . Price is going up too fast. Ask them not to spend too much buying because we want price to stay low for long as possible.

Price will remain at 600 - 700 range for a long time

Market is market, Dutchy. You can't tell. When big investors step in, it can go fast. You have seen that previous weeks also. Big walls were eaten fast.  Market will probably test the 700-800 levels, i think next days. But that is just my thought. We'll see, maybe you are right as well Wink

Litebit is a good deal for buying at once for 1 price. They take some margin, but they buy up for you to higher levels on the sellside at bittrex as well for the same price. So when the amount for sale on the sellside is low on the level you buy, you get all the coins for the same price, even if they have to buy higher for you. They buy in steps. Say you buy 10000 NLG and there is 1000 NLG available on the lowest sell, they buy that 1000 first and wait for a few minutes. When nobody sells to them on bittrex, they place the bid to the next sell level, until your buy is filled.

Also when buying at Litebit, look at the price on the sellside of bittrex. Litebit buys from the sellside, so when you buy there look at the sellside price of bittrex when it is lowest and you think it is a good level to buy.

For smaller amounts or just when you have patience enough for bigger buys you best act on bittrex itself. But that takes a lot more time.

People are pushing the price until the devs release all the updates they said this week then the dump will come. Sell on news.  I will wait until next month to buy again.

The seeds page has been updated and the seeds we have disabled have been removed from the list. We also have two additional seeds in other locations that are not part of the seeds page. As our network grows we will bring the other seed nodes online and add them to the below link.

Every coin before update price pumps and then dumps when released. We should all want a dump to get coins cheaper.

After last updates the price has doubled and stayed nicely in an uptrend  Wink In between there are always sellers who want to take shortterm profit. After that buyers step in again on the higher lows. There were plenty of opportunities to step in on a low in the uptrend as i see it. Apparently you are waiting for lower lows. That could be, but we are in an uptrend, not a downtrend atm. Hope you can get them cheapest as possible nevertheless ofcourse. Last time i post on price, no one knows what will be in the future.

Perhaps a bit riggid suggestion, but how about starting a whole new thread.

With the name change towards Gulden, I believe this threat has become kinda "obsolete", to some degree.
After all, this whole thread is "started by guldencoin".

I believe Gulden should therefore be moving onwards in its newly addopted jacket, by continuing in a new thread, "started by Gulden".
