All my machines are Linux :-)

Unfortunately, you will have to wait for SMA to be implemented in cpuminer, ccminer, sgminer,... or if you are a developer, you can do that on your own Wink It is really not so hard - we already did most of the work.

The cpuminer used in NHM package is on github and compiles fine on linux. And so will all other miners we intend to put in (ccminer, sgminer).

We are developing NHM only for Windows, because it is mostly intended for casual miners, gamers, PC newbies, ... the people that in most cases do not use linux Wink For linux type of people, NHM does not offer good enough control over their mining process.

i think when people realize that linux IS ready for the real world - and has been for quite a long time now - they will free themselves of the chains that microsoft and their partners have put everyone into ... especially when they realize that microsoft themselves use linux developers for their 'new features' that they implement - that most linux distributions have had implemented for a long time ...

in any case - it a good step towards automation - BUT - it is because of the lack of support that most companies have towards linux development ( as you have stated above with your focus on windows ) that the uptake of these stable concrete reliable systems are not adopted so easily ...

thankfully though - there is a solid base of linux users and developers that will move this forward ... albeit slowly - as the linux community dont have the BILLIIONS of dollars that microsoft already made from the communities of people using their products ...

ill be here for it ... and working on it - thats for sure ...

Anyone else notice some strange issues with the multialgo switching just now?

I just discovered several miners switched to and mining on the Lyra2REv2 port, yet somehow trying to use the ckolivas scrypt kernel

Edit: I've discovered the cause, it seems the new quark/qubit optimized sgminer lacks the Lyra2REv2 .cl files
Unfortunately, it also seems incapable of mining Lyra2REv2 at all, even when the proper .cl files are added to kernel folder.

From what I can tell the cause is likely on Nicehash's end, as I've been running these .conf files without issue for weeks, yet there are freshly created ckolivas .bin files from 9:49AM PST today

This can not be an issue with the pool side, since the miner itself (sgminer in this case) is selecting the algorithm and corresponding binary kernel, build for a particular algorithm. Please double-check your configuration and try to run the miner with the same configuration, but on 33xx ports so that you can manually switch pools and see if correct binary kernels are built and used.

You are right, seems out it wasn't .conf file or pool related at all

turns out the issue is with the new Quark/Qubit optimized sgminer, which is apparently incapable of mining Lyra2REv2
(lacks the .cl files, won't use them even if added)

hi, i have downloaded & run v1.1 of your miner. As you suggest, i ran the benchmark first and it ran fine for CPU algos & it displays hashrate for them, but as the miner moves to GPU benchmarks it starts mining X11, first algo on the list and just gets stuck. The miner responds but when i click "Stop benchmark" it won't stop and i have to kill ccmine from windows task manager. I let the miner run for about 15 mins in benchmark mode but it just mined X11 & never listed any hashrate. Please check out why its getting stuck in benchmark mode. I have been talking to you on twitter & i really appreciate all your help.

There are plans to somehow get rid of these issues. We rely on existing benchmark solutions by sp and tpruvot. Would you mind telling us what kind of video cards you have and whether benchmark was stuck for NVIDIA5.x or NVIDIA3.x.

Temporary solution for your problem is to manually adjust benchmarked values in config.json file.

I have a 970 & a 750ti so both are nvidia5.x. Yeah i can plug in the values in config file but it wont be as accurate as the miner itself so i thought i will just report the bug here.

The manual values would be more accurate. Sadly the ccminer benchmark gets only accurate when running for long time, like several minutes. It is not as accurate as cpu benchmarking where we can get good exact results after few seconds already. Don't be afraid to use manually entered numbers (if you know how to).

Of course, our goal is to make good benchmarking part of the tool, because we know that not all users are capable of setting config files on their own.

We will take a deeper look into ccminer benchmarking issues and provide fix in following versions.

cloudflare is ok, some other servers using it are ok, nicehash isn't

What kind of error do you get? Does it say that cloudflare is working?

Really like the new NiceHashMiner.
Couple of feature questions/suggestions.
Could you add a % value as well as "less cores" ?
Autostart option in the config file or command line argument?

Such as, only use 40% of cores, rounded up or down or try to use 40% of total CPU, whichever is easiest to program.
A way to have the benchmark run every X hours to re-evaluate itself?
Currently on an X3470 I'm getting 0.00KH for both Axiom and scryptjanenf16, not sure if a longer decimal value needs to be used for those with a weaker CPU.
450KH with lyra2re
Command line arguments to override config.json values such as -lesscpu 4
A priority setting would also be useful.

Datacenter Technician and Electrician.  If you have any questions feel free to ask me as I am generally bored looking at logs and happy to help during free time.

What kind of error do you get? Does it say that cloudflare is working?

no ping at all, dead as dirt, that's all

and yeah, it's cloudflare, 104.25.221.15, that doesn't ping

i've checked nearby ips like down from 104.25.221.14 and up from 104.25.221.16,
ping is ok, only 104.25.221.15 is dead

probably i've found the problem.

that particular cloudflare ip has been banned by russian regulator for its use by child porn site chan.sankakucomplex.com

here it is:
https://antizapret.info/ip.php?ip=104.25.221.15

cloudflare's quite undiscriminating

Like i thought. Roskomnadzor made it harder. Had to use proxy sites.
