There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

DAT SEXY DIFF

...  Wow... ...  what is this?

What is PoS difficulty and why should I care?

The Pandacoin (PND) network is configured to maintain the creation rate of new blocks to one every minute. However, because of the history of Pandacoin (PND) as a PoS coin with a PoW distribution period of over 3 months (95 days), there is an unusually high amount of transactions to any of the 275,000 addresses seen in the blockchain that are eligible to create PoS block. To maintain the rate of one block per minute, the difficulty will increase if blocks are created too often and decrease if less than one block is found per minute on average.

Remember that the chance of finding a PoS block is proportional to the weight of the transaction it is based on – in other words to the amount and coin age. It is also proportional to the difficulty – the higher the difficulty, the less likely it is to be granted a Proof-of-Stake reward. A high PoS difficulty is an indication that there are many transactions competing to create new blocks: this is the sign of a healthy network where many users are participating in staking.

People need to read this. PoS difficulty is totally different from PoW difficulty. The more people staking would mean it's harder for people to perform 51% attack! hence, a more secure network

Pandas hold.

They know this isn't just another clone coin without a vision, without support, without a community.

They know this coin is safe from crooks and scams. It's an oasis in a sea of copycat pump and dumps, of disappearing and negligent devs.

This is PND and we hold, because we like our steak Smiley

It still baffles me why people don't make those "offerings" complete with source... Also, why many fine programers fall in love with the .NET4 and completely ignore mono which would give them broader audiences?
pandacoin-brolong is right: use at your own risk.

Donating 70 million PND is very generous and as a community we all should thank him/her.

Rethinking Digital Currency

Bitcoin, the world’s first decentralized digital currency, was launched in 2009. It was the prototype that introduced and demonstrated to the world the potential benefits and usages of a decentralized digital currency. However, digital currencies are still in their infant stages and have yet to see widespread mainstream adoption and usage as a unit of exchange both online and offline. There is a need to rethink the current approach to the design and marketing of digital currencies in order to achieve a global mass appeal.

August 30th

On the 30th of August the Pandacoin (PND) development team will unveil and release the highly anticipated set of major development updates to Pandacoin. The founders, developers, and architects of Pandacoin (PND) endeavor to redefine the current space with this set of major development updates, and be positioned to become the future digital currency of choice for the masses.
