Rethinking Digital CurrencyBitcoin, the world’s first decentralized digital currency, was launched in 2009. It was the prototype that introduced and demonstrated to the world the potential benefits and usages of a decentralized digital currency. However, digital currencies are still in their infant stages and have yet to see widespread mainstream adoption and usage as a unit of exchange both online and offline. There is a need to rethink the current approach to the design and marketing of digital currencies in order to achieve a global mass appeal. August 30thOn the 30th of August the Pandacoin (PND) development team will unveil and release the highly anticipated set of major development updates to Pandacoin. The founders, developers, and architects of Pandacoin (PND) endeavor to redefine the current space with this set of major development updates, and be positioned to become the future digital currency of choice for the masses. Stay TunedPandacoin (PND) Development Team

I wonder what would happen if someone pointed a mainframe or a fairly large server farm at the multipool... xD

We would get a huge boost in value and, assuming it's not a 1 day thing, maintain it.

1 PND : 1 USD could happen if say, the devs achieve their vision and reach out to say, 32 million Chinese folks each owning an average of 1000 USD pnd each.
32 million cryptocurrency users is nothing to the scale if a digital currency achieves tipping point and starts breaking into the mainstream users. I'm hoping like mad that the devs will get it right and making it so average folks would be interested in decentralized digital currencies

1PND=1USD$? It is possible? Current trading value is around $0.000006/PND, which means the coin has a total market cap around $180,000. If the coin appreciated to $1/PND, you'd be looking at a marketcap around $32 billion - aka, 4 times larger then BTC's current marketcap. So... $1/PND might be "possible", but it's pretty damn unlikely anytime soon. You'd be looking at a huge boom in crypto values in general, and PND would have to become one of the top coins. $0.0001 (1/100th of a penny) seems like a bit more realistic goal.

The entire decentralized digital currency space is still young, barely reaching the levels of widespread adoption that it could potentially reach. The current market segment that have adopted decentralized digital currencies are not the users that we will be targeting. The Pandacoin (PND) dev team wants to reach towards those that currently view the entire industry as complicated, daunting and hard to get into. We want to make cryptocurrency easy and appeal to those from all ages and cultural backgrounds, so that even your tech-inept parents could get involved with Pandacoin with ease. I don't think it's fair to compare Pandacoin with Bitcoin - there's fundamental issues with Bitcoin (and every other altcoin) that prevent it from achieving a global mass appeal. And we hope to address those fundamental issues, starting with our first set of developments which we will release on the August of 30th. Also, we do not see ourselves as competitors to Bitcoin at all. Our team has multiple reasons to believe that in the future, the space of decentralized digital currencies could split into 2 classes - Decentralized digital commodities (eg. Bitcoin) which are hoarded for their rarity derived due to their low marketcaps and function similarly to gold, used as a safeguard from economic flucuations. Then there's decentralized digital currencies which would be commonly used as a unit of exchange to purchase goods and services online and offline. Pandacoin (PND) is well positioned to be the latter, and function as a currency due to its high coin cap, consistently low inflation of 2.5% and being uniquely positioned to be adopted in China and South East Asia, on top of reaching out to mainstream users both online and offline from Western markets.

When you think about it, $8 billion marketcap is peanuts compared to even smaller country currency market caps. And 4 times that value is not that much bigger, with many countries and even individuals with more than $32 billion total. As you said, it's not anytime soon. Any digital currency, whether it is Bitcoin, Litecoin, Dogecoin or Pandacoin is endorsed by the average user will achieve much bigger market caps than say what bitcoin's size is currently at. What PndaSanta said is right, 32 million users is peanuts in the grand scheme of things for the coin that average folks will use. Just a matter of when, and which coin.

Visit and join on irc, #pandacoinpnd on freenode, go to the multipool and throw some hashes, go the the various exchanges and buy some PND. Come August 30th, the PND community will have something to celebrate. A side note, if you are already invested in PND, make sure you leave your wallet opened and unlocked for staking; helps you and the PND network.
