Until i2p implemented, user can use VPN thru TOR (as opposed to TOR thru VPN) + BBR wallet send tx or rec tx for near perfect anonymity it seems  (after XMR update)

kovri exists here - https://github.com/monero-project/kovri

just fyi, RingCT would require a hardfork, and blocking mixin 0 and mixin 1 would require a hardfork.

boolberry has the address aliasing, as well as a method of reducing blockchain bloat, making it more scalable in that way against monero and other cryptonote networks

Do you guys know https://www.openalias.org/

And just out of curiousity, how big is BBR blockchain atm?

That's very interesting. It seems that Kovri might not be needed at BBR, not sure if node gets enough data for any analysis after new XMR update.

Well, it would be possible to identify where the tx was broadcast from. With monerom the main plan is to broadcast through clearnet as well as i2p and that way hide the originating node.

Just synced up on Ubuntu - about 3.5 GB.

Would HF be required if only changing default mixin to 1 or 2 in daemon, not necessarily changing protocol?

It wouldn't be required then, and probably worth entertaining

so although that would probably solve 99% of use cases, people - or someone destined to try to introduce unnecessarily weak inputs to the network - could still send raw transactions with low mixins. The way to stop that would be to have nodes reject transactions formed that way, which is where the hard fork comes into play.

There are legit reasons to have low mixin transactions, such as with low value (dust) transactions. But possibly the daemon can evaluate when it is ok to let a user form that kind of transaction, client side.

Greetings fellow traders,

We're working on an in-depth interview with crypto_zoidberg that we'll be publishing on coinopoly.xyz in the near future. The goal of the interview is to help bring clarity to the speculation surrounding the future of Boolberry.

Hows this progressing?

Seasons Greetings,

Stay tuned, we'll update everyone with a published copy as soon as we're finished. Historically, the end of the year hasn't been kind to altcoin related news as most traders are AFK and this is even more relevant with Bitcoin's recent break this morning that's caused a bloodbath for altcoins. We've highlighted the key takeaways in the following article below. We've also included a sneak preview of the efforts being made behind the scenes towards the next update.

Boolberry Network Address December 21, 2016

Seed nodes

We have been implementing a solution to make it easier for Boolberry users to connect to other Boolberry users, to sync with the blockchain better.

The solution in Monero is pretty distributed and we are copying that model. Monero has several domain names registered, those domain names have subdomains, and those subdomains have A names which contain the IP addresses of several seed nodes. This leverages the DNS propagation system to have this data in a distributed manner, all to sync up with the distributed blockchain. It uses hardcoded seed nodes as a backup in case none of those are connectable.

Boolberry has two hardcoded seed nodes, and both of them are down sometimes, making it cumbersome if not seemingly impossible to use.

The Monero client pulls the DNS stored seed nodes, appends the monero port number to the IP addresses and grabs blockchain hosting peers this way.

In our efforts, I and Javajared have added subdomains to our own websites and this will be added to the Boolberry code. The seed nodes we are currently using are Boolberry pools that have decent uptime.

You can look at the A names on this website http://viewdns.info for the following domain names

http://xbr.seeds.blockology.org

http://boolberryseed.javajared.com

If you would like a website you own/control to be a part of the seed node redundancy, contact me on how to set it up! And feel free to make pull requests in the future. Also, host a seed node in a datacenter Smiley

Graphics and Marketing

There are several people independently working on updated graphics for boolberry, outside of the Blockchain Development Company. We all have the same vision in mind and have been in contact, this can make the GUI look very polished and unique. Coinopoly has been spearheading collaboration on this front.

The old Boolberry GUI, as well as the new Monero GUI both use the QT framework, so we have a lot of source material to leverage for the graphical updates.

No ETAs just yet on these features or the other big ticket items, thank you for the patience so far and stay tuned for the next bi-weekly!

Boolberry really does seem to have found it's feet again, lots of developments in the works by numerous parties and I have also been speaking with crypto_zoidberg recently and he still intends to return to Boolberry development in jan/feb.

No matter what way I look at it Boolberry is going places in 2017 and the price right now is insanely cheap considering it's tech and it's possibilities, If crypto_zoidberg does come back and works at the pace he has done previously Monero won't be King of the Anon's no more imo....

we use our infrastructure for such use cases - for projects we support - and who support us ...

its a ONE OFF situation with coins for the seednodes ( ie - coins donated FOR the seednodes and to continue the chain moving even if NO ONE else is AND the project never has to pay another cent for our infrastructure again ) - and they are as permanent as we are ...

if you are interested in discussions - please contact ...

have a happy Christmas all ...

Just wondering why xmr never copied bbr's way of reducing blockchain bloat.

I guess BBR has it own ways to check the key images that has been used look at github : https://github.com/cryptozoidberg/boolberry/blob/master/src/currency_core/tx_pool.cpp

There are functions to call tx key images. a year ago double spent attack happened but only slowdown BBR network nothing lost nor break the blockchain.

Maybe xmr dev can't accept the slowdown.

A Monero fork called Aeon has pruning implemented by a Monero developer (smooth). If and when Monero wants to do something similar it can.

What hash functions AEON has ? BBR's wildkeccak is ca.3000 times faster than cryptonight, this is why pruning the key images is safer, when pruning implemented on cryptonight, the double spent attack would likely cause to stop or halt the network.
